So my question is this:

When playing spades, what is the point at which you try to run the table out of spades?  Do you take into consideration your partner's bid?  Do you worry about not having the better non-trump cards?

I think it is high time we discussed this topic in the FFA.

I believe the correct answer is to collect all the cards and announce that the game is now poker.

Well, you don't want the bags so accurate betting is key here.  If you have the room and only think your opponent will contribute one trick on the way out, I say jump into spades and try to run them dry.  That can backfire though if your partner bets heavy and plays weak so tread carefully.

Its poor form unless you are trying to protect against bags. Not against the rules but certainly frowned upon, especially if you lead lower than a J, IMO.
