Will be intrigued to hear what folks think of their draft. I'm happier with mine than I expected. It was very strange though and I'm a bit more dependent on a couple teams than I'd probably like.

This format allows a QB-flex. I opted to take Rivers in round 2 over Steven Jackson - I don't love the Rams situation enough. Sig pointed out that Volek may be a pointless handcuff in the last round since Rivers is tough as hell but if Rivers goes down Volek would put up decent numbers and keep me on my plan.

I thought Addai was great value in the late 5th round just based on the strength of the Indy offense alone. Got Brown at around the right spot and he was worth it to lock down the Indy RB situation. Kinda hitched my wagon to the Chargers with Mathews at 3.10 but they have a very favorable early schedule which is all I care about. Sproles is a semi-handcuff in that he'll make a lot of catches out of the backfield and has the potential to outproduce Mathews some weeks even if both are on the field. Ward will catch a good number of balls making him a decent failsafe that late and he may even get a good number of carries as the coach is going with the hot hand there. A zillion guys were gone but Faulk should be good to get some random production and catches. Jackson probably was overkill as a 7th RB but if Grant ends up having concussion issues because of his head injury this pick will suddenly look good.

DeSean Jackson seemed like good value in the early 4th given that I missed a lot of the big names. Breaston is at least a clear starter. There was lots of dart throwing for me in this part of the draft. Totally forgot about Harvin's migraine issues - if he's healthy though he's a steal in round 8. Cotchery will benefit from the Holmes suspension and his role as a safety valve type of guys for a young QB. Almost drafted LaFell in the 13th round by accident as I ran afoul of myfantasyleague's search function. Was in the range of guys to take when I grabbed him in the 17th and it seemed like fate that I should have him. He has a good shot to start. Notwithstanding my fear about Steven Jackson, the Rams do have a pretty favorable early schedule and Robinson is a starter at WR so that was good enough there. Stallworth reflects the fact that like 80 WRs were gone rather than any grand strategy.

Chargers were the 2nd defense off the board - they have a great early schedule. As do the Eagles for that matter. Figured it was better to cover my bases at this position and grabbed the Falcons late - they also have some good early season matchups. Should do okay here.

a bit wacky with the QB panic and ignoring of TE premium.

I ended up with a Stafford/VY/Dixon QBBC and I took Stafford and VY at the 4/5 and 6/7 turn!

I know that it's nice to flex a QB, but good RB, WR, and TE drafting gives you a decent shot at 15-20 at flex, the same you can expect from a non-elite QB AND you forgo a top RB/WR/TE to get that second QB in the first 5 rounds, you put yourself at a disadvantage that is hard to make up (particularly at RB or TE)

more commentary to come if time allows. I like what Rad and HTF did at first glance.

First time playing in a QB-flex league. I'm pretty happy with my team... Although I'm a little thin at QB/RB.

 
My navel-gazing is going to have to wait until tomorrow. I don't know how much more valuable QBs get when they can be flexed...but I don't think it's as much as our draft would indicate.

I'm intrigued to see what happens in our league compared to league 2 (which I consider our companion league). The one thing I notice right away is that they seemed to go much earlier with their defensive picks (even though our scoring is higher in that area). Differences bolded below:

This may be a bit all over the place...

QB:

Romo, Ryan, Bradford

I was hoping for Manning at 1.09. With the flex allowing for a QB in this league - I figured grabbing decent QBs was huge. Wanted Manning given his nice early season schedule and no bye in first 5 weeks. Taken right before me. Debated S.Jackson or Romo here. I like all of Romo's weapons, but not loving his week 4 bye. Figured there would be a run - so if I really like him - take him. 2 of next 3 picks were QBs (Schaub and Brady). (And got S.Jackson at 2.04 anyway.)

Wanted my 2nd QB to be in that 8-15 tier - ie, a guy that should do okay. Higher than that and I'd had to have taken him in the 2nd. Lower than a 15th and the whole advantage of being able to use a qb as a flex may never have surfaced for me. And that is exactly what I consider Ryan (probably around 10th best or so). We shall see. Took Bradford late simply b/c he was a starting QB still available.

RB:

S.Jackson, Bradshaw, Stewart, Forsett, K.Smith, Westbrook

Only one early bye in the group (Forsett in wk 5). No other early season byes here. Liked getting S.Jackson at 2.04. I may have reached a bit on Bradshaw (6.04), but he wasn't going to make it back to me at 7.09. All the RBs left at that point had others they were dealing with (ie. Bradshaw with Jacobs; Reggie with P.Thomas; Charles with T.Jones, etc). Didn't love my Bradshaw pick in the 6th. Maybe the Giants homer in me came out. Loved getting Stewart at 7.09. His ADP in a PPR league is much earlier. (Sure that doesn't account for a league where the flex can be a QB, but still, we're talking much earlier.) Forsett I grabbed simply b/c I believe he should be the starter (among L.Wash and J.Jones), so at 9.09, I took him. I don't think much of K.Smith. But given that Best is a rookie, Smith's best chance might be early on in the season (which is the only part of the year that matters in this league). Westbrook - b/c of the chance that he lands in StL and I already have S.Jackson.

WR:

Colston, Houshmanzadeh, M.Wallace, Britt, Aromashodu, Chambers, Hartline, Benn

Couple of issues here for me. For starters, I totally messed up my TJ Housh pick. I had my cheatsheet color-coded to reflect easy beginning part of schedule versus hard. I also had color coding for bye weeks (wanting to avoid 1-5) and whether I liked them more or less than their ADP. I mis-read this one when I took him. He does have a nice beginning part of his scheule, but he does have a week 5 bye. I definitely think I should have gone safer here with someone like Driver (wk10 bye) or someone else. Didn't "feel good" after my TJ pick. But in the 8th round and with a decent beginning schedule, I wasn't so pissed. Until issue 2 turned up...

Issue 2 on my WRs: 3 of my 8 have week 5 byes. That could hurt. To make up for non-stellar WRs and the week 5 bye issue, I loaded up (8 WRs...more at this position than any other for me).

TE:

Gonzalez, Heap, Cook

The TEs get 1.5 ppr here. I thought people might over-account for that. Meaning, it isn't like 0 for RB, 1 for WR, and 2 for TE. Now that would require some serious adjusting. Rather this is 1 for RBs and WRs; and 1.5 for TEs. So I thought it would be nice to have a top 5, but I was not about to go crazy to get one (ie, not giving up my 2nd or 3rd, or even 4th to get one). So I didn't. However, at 5.09, when Tony Gonzalez was available, I grabbed him. He isn't in my top 5 at that position this year. But according to my tiers, he is 6th. And in this format, he is arguably ahead of Witten due to Witten's week 4 bye. So I took Gonzalez. Then didn't touch this position for a very long time. Heap in the 15th. Cook in the final round.

K:

Bironas, Feely

I did not want to take a PK with an early season bye - plain and simple. So after a half dozen or so were off the board and I started to target them, I intentionally avoided Gostkowski and Longwell (both available when I took Bironas), b/c of their week 5 and 4 byes, respectively. I admit I had them both ranked higher than Bironas. But I wanted two kickers going for me every week b/c I didn't want to grab 3 PKs. And with my WRs shaping up to have a mess in week 5 - it was extra important.

DST:

Baltimore, Chicago

Was debating taking 3 Defenses before the draft started. Thought that could be an interesting way to get points. I especially liked this strategy when I assumed that someone would start a Def run a bit too early - so to avoid that, I'd simply wait it out, but take 3 late ones. This changed during the draft. In the 16th round, only 5 defenses were gone; and I didn't think the 16th was too early. So I went with Baltimore. I actually took a while to make this decision. I did not want a defense with an early bye (4 or 5). In addition, I wanted a good early schedule (I had the SOS up for various positions to do quick checks on). I admit that I haven't followed defensive offseason moves nearly as much as I follow the offensive moves (ie, I read about all offensive movements), so for Defenses, I admit I went straight to the FBG staff rankings. With Balt ranked 6th; and no early bye; and a nice SOS early on - grabbed them. After having a decent D on board with Baltimore, I dismissed the 3 defense strategy and figured I'd only go with 2. But if I was going with two, I wanted at least a decent one. So later on, I took Chicago (10-15th or so).

Having not been in this Ultimate Survivor last year, I really don't know if I have a good team or not. I checked out everything specific for my league (ie, 4 pt qb tds; ppr; flex can be qb; only weeks 1-5 matter; only 4 teams advance; etc). And I tried to factor in all of it. I tried to consider just how important the various nuances were, without over-thinking things (ie, if Peterson fell to me at 1.09, I wasn't going to not draft him just b/c of the week 4 bye).

Hopefully I put together a squad that gets me to the next round. And given the All-Play format, hopefully my record will be very good before my week 5 bye issues...but who knows.

ETA2: This league only matters in weeks 1 - 5. With no byes in weeks 1 - 3 in the NFL, here's how I did with those pesky week 4 and 5 byes.

Q: Romo- wk4 (neither of my other 2 QBs have a bye issue - ie, meaning neither has a 4 or 5 bye)

R: Forsett- only RB with early bye (wk5)

W: 3 with week5 byes; 1 with week4 bye

T: None have 4 or 5 as byes.

K: Neither has 4 or 5 as byes.

D: Neither has 4 or 5 as byes.

Even after the draft, I'm still not sure just exactly how to evaluate bye weeks. I was expecting to take Frank Gore at 1.06, not thinking Adrian Peterson (and Ray Rice) would still be available.

I've never played in a league with QB flex, but I thought the run on QBs was pure herd (as in you had to run with herd or get run over).

I think I'm too thin at TE, but at 1.5 PPR, Zach Miller might save me from embarrassment. Really wished I'd gone with James Casey or Dave Thomas in 24th round instead of James Starks.

Similar to my FBG contest strategy, I tried to load up on WRs with week-to-week boom potential. At RB, I feel pretty lucky to have gotten Arian Foster and Slaton so cheaply (6th and 10th).

So, I had thought this whole QB flex thing through before the draft. Obviously, you'd like to have a stud and a second tier QB to be your weekly flex. It seemed silly to pass on CJ2K for a QB when the nature of best ball gets you the peaks of a multi-QB stable which can equal a stud pretty easily. I was willing to take Romo/Brady and their byes at the 2/3 turn, otherwise I figured I could cobble together a QBBC at the 4/5 turn and 6/7 turn that would combine to be a solid starter, and maybe contribute 2-3 flex weeks. I would then supplement with a 3rd QB at the 10/11 turn to fill in another flex week or two. Nine QBs were gone by the 2-3 turn. I am not passing on an elite bye-less RB (Turner) and THE TE to own - who is also bye-less - Gates for Eli Manning, no way, no how. I thought about going QB-QB at the 4/5 turn after the early carnage, but I felt good about VY falling to the next turn, and in a 4 pts per pass TD league, he's a nice get as a QB2. Dixon was a pure flier at the end, I think he can overtake Leftwich during the first four games of the year, if not before the season. I skipped my QB3 at the 10/11 turn because I saw a solid TE2 who can provide stud flex weeks in Heath and a WR only one year removed from a 90 catch season who looks to be featured this year in Royal. I thought they would be more likely to put up multiple big weeks than a 3rd QB, and I gambled that a 3rd might last til the 12/13 turn. I may get stung a week or two with a VY/Stafford QBBC, but I feel my strength elsewhere can more than compensate, and Ill get a top 5 week or two along the way. in a 4 pt per pass TD league, QB isnt that souped up compared to RB/WR/TE, so I just couldnt reach too far for lesser options.

CJ2K was a no brainer imo. Even if you think last year's workload takes a toll, it doesn't happen early in the season. How surprised was I to see Turner still there at the 2/3 turn? Couldn't pass that up. MB3 being there at the 8/9 turn, bye and all, was part of the reason I went without a 3rd surefire starting QB, skipping the position at the 8/9 turn. I can see a multi-TD game or two for him. At the point, my team is riding on those 3 RBs. Why take part-timers who may contribute a 10-15 week here and there if I'm lucky. I got my handcuffs as "firewalls" in case of a CJ2K or Burner injury, I think both are still good for 12-18 a week if that happens. I think I can dominate at RB, and get a few top 5 flex weeks as long as none of Atlanta Tennessee or Dallas slump badly early. Obviously I am going down if Tennessee sputters badly with VY and CJ2K.

I was expecting to take Desean Jackson at the 2/3 turn, but Turner falling forced me into a strategy that lacked a stud WR. This meant switching gears to a stable of deep threats who can hopefully land a long TD or two a week for me, supplemented with possession guys who can give me a 12-15 in a pinch. Nicks-Garcon-MikeWilliamsTB-Henderson-Tate are my deep threats and Bowe-Royal-Burleson-MThomas are my possession guys. Maybe I would take a 3rd QB instead of Royal if I had a do-over, but there were still 5 QBs left at the time and I was willing to chance that one of them would fall through. I think can be in the middle of the pack in WR scoring at worst, with a chance for some top 5 weeks, and I can also grab a 15-20 flex from this group once or twice.

I was thrilled to see Gates still there at the 2/3 turn. I expected to be able to get Finley at worst, never dreamed no TEs would go in the first two rounds in a 1.5 PPR TE All-Play league. No brainer. Miller was too good to pass up at the 10/11 turn, he is liable to have a 7 or 8 catch game and give me a 20-25 flex play and he's terrific insurance for a Gates dud. He was also a pick to deny a competitor who had sloughed TE a chance to get a very strong option that late.

Happy with the picks at PK, no byes, one distance leg, one indoor leg. I thought about going with a 3rd PK instead of Dixon, could maybe harvest a few points here and there with the enhanced kicker scoring, but I preferred to lay down a bet with longer odds for a bigger payoff. If Im just edged out for 3rd, will regret it if Leftwich starts all 4 Steeler games. 3 Defenses was a priority with the enhanced points allowed scoring and defense variability. Steelers D gets Troy back, was happy to get them at a bye discount. Texans still have some nice playmakers without Cushing + Jones/Holliday returning kicks. Buffalo usually has an opportunistic D + Spiller returning kicks + they get home vs JAX in PITs bye.Well, this was certainly a good draft for forcing one to think on their feet a bit. QB flex was totally overrated and I didnt bite early, but I still had to take two lower-end QBBC QBs before you would usually think of taking one in a normal league. If I go down in flames because my flex army fails to produce, then I will eat crow, but Rodgers over CJ2K and Eli over Turner/Gates just does not compute in a 4 pts per pass TD PPR TE Premium best ball.

Schaub/Rivers - the best QB combo in this league, which costed a first and second round pick, both hit over 20 TWICE in the first 5 weeks that they both played last year, and only 4 times in the 13 games they both played last year. I just don't see the appeal of this strategy, you give up uberstuds at RB/WR/TE to get top 5 QB scoring, and partial top 5 flex scoring?Nice job locking up the SD and IND running games, should give you middle of the road RB scoring with a chance for a few top 5 weeks. Faulk and Ward are decent "oh, crap" paln Bs if SD/IND sputter with an outside shot of a flex week. Jackson may hit a week to make that pick work, a primary backup RB is solid there.Desean was a steal, Harvin might work out, but where's the beef after that? Cotch at least doesnt have to deal with Holmes, but that's your first-line WR3. Very thin, pretty much sunk if DeSean gets hurt, and Harvin isn't confidence-inducing right now.Celek was a MAJOR steal, made me sick to see so many TEs plummet down the board. Another QB-QB team, but one with a more combustible combo and also a better job building a WR corps.Charles was sick value, and Bush could hit making this a very strong RB group.

Love the SteveSmiths and Edwards/Jacoby/Manningham big play factor WRs, should be fine there.

Cooley was nice value and so was Carlson, bye and all.

Beware of Vinatieri injury, but I like the 3D strat of course.

Nice team and I think a favorite to advance even though they started risky with QB QB

I dont like tying your first round pick behind your back for one week, but at least you didnt follow up with another QB. Ryan was a little risky, but good later drafting justified it. Cant totally argue with Bradford as a shot in the dark to cover Romo's bye and maybe contribute another flex week or two.Bradshaw and Stewart could work out really well, but I decided to pass on Jstew at the 6/7 turn b/c he's the less healthy CAR RB, and I think he still starts the year as the #2. If this was a season-long league, would have been happy to get him at 4/5 turn. Solid group with a chance to be very good 1-4.Nice work at WR with minimal investment - Colston is a nice anchor, you have to have two of Wallace/Britt/Aroma hit, and Chambers/Hartline/Benn isn't a bad set of guys to count on for a long TD or two. Not a fan of the Housh pick, Seattle will probably spread the ball around with emergence of BMW and Butler, addition of Tate, along with Branch health (at least for now).Stole Gonzo and Heap - 5.9 is almost his value in a standard PPR best ball, in TE premium = major steal.would have rather seen 3 Ds than say Cook, esp. with Ed Reed ailing.very solid team, another one in the top half among the favorites to advance.

Even after the draft, I'm still not sure just exactly how to evaluate bye weeks. I was expecting to take Frank Gore at 1.06, not thinking Adrian Peterson (and Ray Rice) would still be available.I've never played in a league with QB flex, but I thought the run on QBs was pure herd (as in you had to run with herd or get run over).I think I'm too thin at TE, but at 1.5 PPR, Zach Miller might save me from embarrassment. Really wished I'd gone with James Casey or Dave Thomas in 24th round instead of James Starks.Similar to my FBG contest strategy, I tried to load up on WRs with week-to-week boom potential. At RB, I feel pretty lucky to have gotten Arian Foster and Slaton so cheaply (6th and 10th).

Like me, went minimal at QB, and also pulled off getting a #3 with the mid-round draft position. Should be fine.Don't love the first round pick missing a week. Getting HOU running game was nice and Spiller is perfect for this format. Very nice work here.Second pick also misses a week. Crabtree is a great #2 tho. Nice cast of talented guys to play WR3BC and maybe put up some flex weeks.Zach is a fine TE1 and I like the Slot receiver TE picks as guys who could surpass Zach once or twice.I like 3 Ds, but wow, three pretty weak Ds.This team has some good depth and overall played the draft pretty well, but Im not sure theres potential for enough top 5 weeks at any of the 4 main positions to get them through to the next round.

not bad when you put it that way on the Ds. Hard to take Peterson before MJD/Rice for sure, probably Gore and maybe even Turner at RB. AJohnson seems compelling at WR. Brees/Rodgers/Manning all probably better picks in this format, at least considerations. IMO, Gates/Clark/Davis should be too. I would say late first/early second for Peterson. We're talking 20% of value, you're spotting the rest of us a zero from your very best player for 1 week.

Im not saying QB in the first is bad strategy, but the beauty of doing that is that your next QB only needs to be a flex candidate, so you can just wait and grab one of the last QBBC QBs (top 18 or so) and count on 2-3 very good flex weeks from them. Even if you get caught unawares by a QB run, or just see better value elsewhere as those QBs are going off the board, you can still get a 3rd tier QB and harvest a flex week or three from them. To me, following that pick up with ANOTHER QB just squanders the advantage you built by going QB in the first. Why shoot for elite flex scoring and create a WR1 RB1 or TE1 hole in the process, when you can still take a good shot at elite flex scoring later and still come away strong at all the other skill positions?

I went into the draft with a strategy, but saw quickly that it wasn't playing out like I expected it to, and so I quickly abandoned that strategy and went in a different direction. I saw a lot more early-bye players coming off the board than I anticipated, so I quickly decided that I was going to make a point of going out of my way to avoid the byes as much as I could while still making sense. Every so often a player with a bye fell to the point where I almost thought he represented good value, only to be snatched up half a round or a round before I would have grabbed him. Other than my 21st round pick (backup PK Ryan Longwell) and Fred Jackson (who'll likely miss week 1 to injury), every single one of my players is going to be available for the full 5 weeks. I think that provides me with a subtle but very real advantage over the rest of the league.1.03 3. SSOG Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB2.10 22. SSOG Kolb, Kevin PHI QB11.03 123. SSOG Leinart, Matt ARI QB15.03 171. SSOG Edwards, Trent BUF QBI grabbed Rodgers in the first to protect myself in case there was a QB run. It's a long way between pick 3 and pick 22 and I was worried that we'd see 8+ QBs come off the board (which we did). Rather than risk trotting out a Matt Ryan or a Joe Flacco, I issued a pre-emptive strike and took Rodgers. I came into the draft convinced that I was going to grab a QB in the first and then grab a TE in the second (thanks to the 1.5 PPR), but when I saw that no TEs had been taken, I opted to grab another QB believing that either Gates or Clark would slide to me in the 3rd. I never seriously considered drafting either an RB or a WR in the second, mostly because I'm a lot cooler on Turner than most, and because I felt like I could cobble together a passable Best Ball WR corps together with minimal investment. Leinart was a value pick- no QB had been drafted in 3 rounds, which means I got a QB comparable to the guys going in the 8th, but I only spent an 11th. Three picks after Leinart people were drafting the Josh Freemans and Matt Hasselbecks of the world, so I really felt like I managed to sneak away with one. Trent Edwards, I must admit, was a bit of a spite pick. He was the last starting QB on the board, and I grabbed him just to deny him to the guys who tried to stay out of the QB runs.4.10 46. SSOG McCoy, LeSean PHI RB9.03 99. SSOG Harrison, Jerome CLE RB10.10 118. SSOG McFadden, Darren OAK RB13.03 147. SSOG Buckhalter, Correll DEN RB14.10 166. SSOG Jackson, Fred BUF RB16.10 190. SSOG Hardesty, Montario CLE RB22.10 262. SSOG Huggins, Kareem TBB RBHardesty/Harrison locks up the Cleveland running game. I'm not a McCoy fan, but in PPR leagues I think his production is going to outstrip his talent- he had 40 receptions last year as a backup, and could easily top 60 this year as a starter. McFadden might be the bottom half of the Oakland RBBC... but I think he's the half that will be getting all the receptions. Knowshon Moreno has a history of taking longer to return than estimated, and if he lingers Correll Buckhalter in the 13th becomes insane value. Fred Jackson is another committee back who'll probably put up a few starter days on the strength of his receptions alone. Kareem Huggins is a 22nd round flier. All it takes is one 80-yard TD run for him to get on the board. Between McCoy, Cleveland, and McFadden/Jackson/Buckhalter/Huggins, I think I'll be able to cobble together a very respectable RB corps... and thanks to my QBs (far and away the best in the league), finding a flex starter is a non-issue.5.03 51. I think you have the poorest WR and RB corps in the whole league. Even if Kolb gives you the top flex scoring in the league, you have absolutely no margin of error at RB and WR. Im just not sure how you can advance with no stone cold studs at either position - maybe you can get 2-3 top 10 RB weeks from McCoy and CLE RB, maybe 3-4 combined top 10 WR weeks from CHI WR, Floyd, and SMoss, but the rest of us might be getting that from our RB1 and WR1 scoring, not our best 4 RBs and best 4 WRs combined.Leinart and Edwards are very unlikely to score for you, wasted picks. Way too optimistic about CBuck, the one backfield you cornered is a hot hand-based group, which could split the production down the middle, hurting bad. Your RB3-6 are all hurt right now. Moss is a notorious boom/bust WR and Floyd had only 1 game over 11.5 last year, even though he started most of the year. Moss over Steve Smith (NYG) and Floyd over Hines Ward were misfires imo. They are much better WRs in a group where you have you to count on them every week, Moss and Floyd are for a group 7-8 boom/bust guys. Buckhalter over Aromashodu was also a mistake imo. I'll happily eat crow if Im wrong, but I just dont see how a team with such a weak group at the two bread and butter positions can advance.

You should be able to get very solid production, very high points from your group of QBs. But in my opinion, you better b/c you will need it given your RB/WR group. I liked your Douglas pick at end of 12th. And I like what you did with taking both Cleveland RBs in order to secure it. But overall, nothing sexy in your RB/WR group. I understand passing on bye week players in order to get guys that play every single week (and it is a very solid idea), but not at the expense of passing up much better players. Specifically your Floyd pick. I like Floyd and think he could do well this season. But not in the early 7th. Still available at that point: Welker, Breaston, Ward, Harvin, TJ Housh, Mason, Driver, Bowe, etc. I know there are some questions in that group. But I still think Floyd at 7.03 was a tad early. I wouldn't have been surprised if he was still there for you at 9.03. Just my opinion; and I am wrong quite a bit!

Very well balanced squad. Didn't love Cutler in the 2nd. But you recovered by drafting well at every position. Charles towards end of 6th could be great! Same with M.Bush in 9th. Nothing amazing stands out at WR. But S.Smith does seem to get production regardless of what crummy QB throws to him. And if the other S.Smith continues his PPR insaneness from last year - that could work out nicely too. The rest of the group isn't sexy, but you took several to possibly make up for that.

Like this team outside of the QBs. RBs are solid with C.Johnson (stud), Turner at 3.01 (nice value), and Barber at 9.01 (nice value). WRs - no stud in the group, but drafted many of them to hopefully make up for it. TEs - solid with Gates. 3 defenses is a nice play. Just don't like the QBs in a league where two can make your lineup. Stafford was the first taken at 4.12, but still available at that point: Flacco, Palmer, and Favre. Sure Favre still has to actually come back; and he does have a week 4 bye. But he was 5th QB in this format last year. Flacco- no early bye and addition of Boldin. Palmer - no early bye and Owens to go along with 85. I do like Stafford as a late round QB this year given Calvin and what they've brought in (Burleson, Scheffler, Best). But as your QB1 in the 4th round - it may have been early. Then again, as one of the only teams without a QB at that point - it isn't like great options were there. (If Stafford hits Burleson though - should be very nice for you.)

I debated Flacco and Palmer and Stafford - just like DET early schedule (GB-MIN-CHI-PHI-STL not in that order) better than BAL, which includes NYJ, CIN and PIT and cant totally count on CIN to air it out. You KNOW Detroit will have to.
 
At draft slot 12 in this format I had to see what was available and adjust my whole draft after my 1st 2 picks.When Frank Gore slipped I got excited, but unfortuntely radballs grabbed him at 11.News on Fitzgerald was still a bit raw so essentially was deciding between Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Reggie Wayne.Pushed my chips all in and went with Brady and Moss despite the bye in week 5.After this it was a matter of avoid week 5 bye guys and taking 3 other QB's to compensate.Got sniped a few times, but this was a high quality draft, so no more could be expected.

Didn't want to take another QB at 3/4, but thankfully there wasn't as big run as I was expecting. Could get some kind of depth at 3/4 and then take a QB at the next 2 turns. Alex Smith is a guy I'm high on this year, purely due to the forces assembled around him. Kyle Orton is the certain starter and I have a feeling Denver are going to need to chuck it more than they want. Cassel was still around despite Josh Freeman being taken in front of him and as the 29th QB, he was a steal. Happy with my QB's, but we'll see if there strong enough to use the flex position every week.

This was the position I kept losing out on and the weakness is clear. I'm happy with Ryan Grant as my RB1, but trying to get a RB2/Flex out of this lot won't be easy. On the way through to my picks guys kept slipping only to be snatched before my pick. For the last 2 picks was debating whether to take Fred Taylor/Sammy Morris or strengthen my Philly pie. I think LeSean McCoy won't get as many carries as most think, but Bell's constant injuries screw this up. Weaver will get used, so I should have some points here and Dixon was a case of a clear No.2 in a good spot.

Would have liked one more pick here, but something had to give. One thing consistent through my line up is the amount of guys with injury issues. Not deliberate, but there'll be a fair amount of finger crossing going on here. Moss is great as a WR1, Sims-Walker needs to stay fit, but could be a very good WR2. Then at WR3 Gaffney should be prominent, but the Indy duo was a deliberate strategy of one guy should get points every week. Berrian is a crapshoot and Robiskies ties up with my Ben Watson pick to get something out of Cleveland every week.

Debated between Witten and Davis at 4, but Wittens lack of TD's was the deciding factor. Davis should be ok, but the injury flag is another concern. Very Happy to see Winslow at pick 8 as the 10th TE off the board. With Davis & Winslow I should get strong points at TE every week. Watson is a player I think that was underutilized in New England and he has steal written all over him. Taking Robiskie at WR gives me a larger piece of whatever size pie Cleveland throw out every week.Really wanted to take a chance on Zach Miller (Jax), but I could only take 24.

Once the best players were taken I just wanted to avoid bye week issues. Not expecting a lot of points here, just enough every week.Overall I'll probably be in the middle, with help needed at RB. Fun draft and it was highly competitive. Good luck all.
 
I'm in League 2, the other SuperFlex league, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the strategy of taking two QBs in the first two or three rounds works out. With only 4 pts for passing TDs, I'm not sure the advantage of the QB as flex outweighs the likely gap at the other positions. Should be interesting to see.

Although Garrad and Campbell were 2 of my targets from the start of the draft, I had no intentions in taking them in the 6th and 7th.....I also anticipated being able to team them up with Alex Smith or Vince Young. Definitely my weakest link, but 18-23 points from the QB position is definitely possible.....probably won't get much flex play from this spot though.

Didn't plan on drafting RB's this early (round 4), but I saw too much value in Mendenhall and Best to pass either up for the 13th or 14th QB off the board. After grabbing Forte, it was a MUST to also grab Chester Taylor.....I usually don't like "wasting" picks like this, but with my QB's so thin I needed to make sure I was putting a lot of effort into filling the flex spot from either my RB depth or WR's. Cadillac and Tomlinson were just added depth and I could easily see each roster spot being used as a "starter" 40% of Leg 1. Choice was just a gamble......definitely would rather have choice in Round 16 instead of F. Jones in round 7.

Obviously my strategy was to swing for the fences in the early rounds by putting together the best starting WR tandem in the league. The other 4 should be productive and possibly provide a spot start. Massaquoi and Washington are currently their teams #1, while an argument could be made that Washington is the #2. Deion Branch was an absolutue steal in the 22nd...to many people are sleeping on this guy.

I don't believe that Martz is a TE killer....throw me all the statistics you want, I'll believe what I see on the field this year with Olsen. As for Davis, the kid through up great numbers last year and I don't see how they don't find ways to continue to get him the ball. Moss, Cooley, and Davis are the only receiving threats in Washington.

I recall losing a game or two each week by 1 or 2 points and it was because I had 2 defenses that under-performed....not this year! Cincy, Oakland, and Cleveland all have 2-3 terrific match-ups in the first 5 games. Hopefully I don't leave wins on the table because of my D this year.

Wanted a 3rd, but didn't have the luxury of being able to grab one more.....hopefully the weather stays good and Chicago is capable of scoring at a high level.

Overall I am excited about my team, althoughI can't afford to take a hit at the QB or TE position. With a little luck I drafted a team that will help me move on. Was definitely a fun draft.....just glad I was lucky enough to take part.

I came in to this draft wanting to get my first QB relatively early, but Schaub was the last top one I was willing to pay for in the first round. When he was off the board and Gore was there, I shifted gears. Decided to get a stud RB and WR, and then just work for value the rest of the way. I really wanted to have 3 starting QBs and after I got Favre near the end of round 5, I knew I had to get one more so went with Leftwich relatively late. Hopefully, Dixon isn't a threat. I also targeted having 3 Ks and 3 Ds all without bye week issues to help with some extra points each week due to high variability at those two positions. Overall, I'm pretty happy and think I have decent balance without too many bye weeks.
