My gun is Favre, with a cake walk schedule and bye out of the way. I believe he can comfortably lead solo thru this round, but Palmer is just an insurance policy and may contribute, but if not, I think Favre will do just fine.

The schedule's not great for Turner, but I had to pull the trigger on him. He's their offense, and at home, he's on fire. I had no plans of drafting Westy, but at 5.7, it's a calculated risk. Grabbing Bucky in the 11th was a must. Fargas is back, and McFadden's not right. Leon will see increased carries this 5 weeks, and Benson, well, okay, no answer for that one...

9.Battle, Arnaz SFO WR 9

10.Bowe, Dwayne KCC WR 6

11.Davis, Rashied CHI WR 8

12.Edwards, Braylon CLE WR 5

13.Porter, Jerry JAC WR 7

14.Royal, Eddie DEN WR 8

15.Stallworth, Donte' CLE WR 5

16.Wayne, Reggie IND WR 4

Wayne was my pick at 6. Schedule is tough against the run, Peyton will have to throw and Wayne is the man with his bye out of the way. Braylon another that I drafted because he's DUE, also bye out of the way. Throw in Stallworth and I have the Cleveland attack against some tough competition. Bowe will be back for a 4 week run as my WR3, and Royal was a late round flier as WR4. Davis, Battle and Porter (healthy now?) rounds out this VERY competitive bunch.

17.Martin, David MIA TE 4

18.Miller, Billy NOS TE 9

19.Winslow, Kellen CLE TE 5

It's not like it's a knee, what could possibly be wrong? He's gotta play, they're desperate right now. Miller just in case Winslow sits, is a nice start this week. Martin still puts up numbers as a final option.

20.Dawson, Phil CLE PK 5

Went 1 kicker last time, will do it again here.

21.Chargers, San Diego SDC Def 9

22.Packers, Green Bay GBP Def 8

Couple of good defenses here should be okay.

Very tough draft. Hard to evaluate the draft right now, but if I had to guess, this team will have a shot. I give it a 7.5 out of 10.

Wow...Hightower and eli really slid.Neil may be my twin.
I noticed the similarities, but you might be a bit stronger with Marshall and Favre. Good job picking from nine. Was that your preference or was that the best of what was left?
Picked it as the 4th selection off the board.Liked the 2.4 spot (expected a good RB to fall but got more than I bargained for). Someone always slides to that spot. really liked the talent at 3.4.Huge advantage looking at 2-3 owners after you and their picks. Often you can sluff a player around the turn. not too many players were snaked from me.Wanted to follow Dodds. He always comes up with a unique strategy that I figured wouldn't mess with my plans.

I'm having a hard time finding a favoite and don't see too many weak teams either. This should be a very tight contest.

I usually don't like Twilight's drafts, but he almost always contends or wins these contests. QB will be strong and I think 2 is the way to go here if you can. Lots of ?s at RB, but plenty of horses in the corral. the WR are strong and will need to be as Boldin will missed 40% of this leg. Great trio of lower tier bargain TEs that will produce.

QB

Rivers, Philip SDC QB - 9

Ryan, Matt ATL QB - 7

I was going to take Peyton or Eli. Really. But I went in different directions each time I drafted (at 12) and got hammered at this position. I'm sure they're the weakest QBs in the league. Hopefully I can make it up in other areas.

RB

Charles, Jamaal KCC RB - 6

Forte, Matt CHI RB - 8

Green, Ahman HOU RB - 2

Taylor, Fred JAC RB - 7

Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC RB (P) - 9

Williams, DeAngelo CAR RB - 9

Williams, Ricky MIA RB - 4

See, I didn't think Forte or LT would be there at 12. I had other plans, but thought I should take a shot with these guys when they were there. They're both risks, but I didn't think I'd have a shot at either of them at 3.1. D. Williams and F. Taylor are the backups, and Ricky is a wildcard. Ahman Green was a guy who I figured might stay healthy for a couple of weeks, and Jamaal Charles looks like he can catch and might get some looks. Nothing too special here.

WR

Coles, Laveranues NYJ WR (Q) - 5

Engram, Bobby SEA WR - 4

Gonzalez, Anthony IND WR (Q) - 4

Moore, Lance NOS WR - 9

Randle El, Antwaan WAS WR - 10

Reed, Josh BUF WR - 6

Wade, Bobby MIN WR - 8

Well, these guys don't turn heads but they each could catch six or seven balls on any given Sunday. And if Gonzalez is healthy all three starters should play each week. I'm hoping the other four guys can put together a decent flex spot or one will break out each week. I don't hate any of them, but I can't say they scare anyone.

TE

Santi, Tom IND TE - 4

Witten, Jason DAL TE (P) - 10

I wanted Witten so I reached for him at 3.1. You have to start a TE so I hope he helps separate me from others, or at least makes up for deficits at QB. Hard hittin' Jason Witten! Santi is a guy. Not much to pick from at the end.

K

Folk, Nick DAL PK - 10

Kasay, John CAR PK - 9

Man, I'm good at picking kickers. Do you see how awesome these guys are? I mean, check them out. Either could kick three FGs each week. Isn't that fantastic? No? Okay, moving on...

Broncos, Denver DEN Def - 8

Cowboys, Dallas DAL Def - 10

I lost out on the Jets D by one pick. If I had gotten them I wouldn't have taken a second D. Dallas could be okay and Denver has a nice closing schedule for weeks 8-10.

This team isn't fantastic, but I think it's better than what I drafted in leg one and I somehow got through that. I think I have okay depth to guide me through SOME bye weeks/injuries/bad performances. But overall, I'll need my guys to come through to finish top three. If not, it was fun. Never drafted in-season, ever. Pretty cool new experience.

Overall, I thought the drafters did pretty well even though it took FOREVER. JaxBill got a few guys right before I would have taken them (Santonio, Sproles, Jets D) which means people were on the ball. It was fun, and I'm sure the winners from this league will have a good showing in the final round. I would say I can't be counted out right now, but we'll see what happens.

Player YTD Pts Bye

Brees, Drew NOS QB - 9

Orton, Kyle CHI QB - 8

Quinn, Brady CLE QB - 5

With the 3RR, I picked Brees at 3.02. He's the key to my team because as a result of that team there were a ton of WRs off the board before I picked at 4.11. Orton is a good backup and he plays DET during Brees' bye. Brady Quinn? Shot in the dark.

Addai, Joseph IND RB - 4

Johnson, Larry KCC RB - 6

Slaton, Steve HOU RB - 2

Sproles, Darren SDC RB - 9

Young, Selvin DEN RB (O) - 8

I really like my RBs, especially after LJ's bye. I might have taken Slaton a little early at 2.02 but he has really looked great the last couple weeks.

Clowney, David NYJ WR (O) - 5

Curtis, Kevin PHI WR (Q) - 7

Evans, Lee BUF WR - 6

Harrison, Marvin IND WR - 4

Henry, Chris CIN WR - 10

Holmes, Santonio PIT WR (P) - 6

Jones, Matt JAC WR - 7

The WRs are the huge question mark of my team, especially in Week 6 with Evans and Santonio off. I think they'll be a very solid group in Weeks 8 thru 10 though. Chris Henry is the roll the dice guy here.

Keller, Dustin NYJ TE - 5

Lewis, Marcedes JAC TE - 7

I waited on TE to try to beef up my questionable WRs and it showed. Dustin Keler has had his bye and Marceedes might actually hang onto a couple passes.

Carney, John NYG PK - 4

Prater, Matt DEN PK - 8

Tynes, Lawrence NYG PK - 4

I screwed up with Carney pick and came back with Prater then realized Tynes was still out there.

Falcons, Atlanta ATL Def - 7

Jets, New York NYJ Def - 5

Meh. Jets have some good matchups the next couple weeks. ATL's defense is OK.

Overall, my goal is to try to win at least a couple games in Week 6. I think my team will be a lot better in Weeks 8 - 10.

I actually feel a lot better about my team in hindsight, particularly since I was drafting nearly blind drunk post 11 PM. Tough week called for lots of medicine, ya know?

Campbell, Jason WAS QB - 10

Frerotte, Gus MIN QB - 8

Garcia, Jeff TBB QB - 10

Rodgers, Aaron GBP QB (P) - 8

I reached a bit for Campbell but I really like the way he's come along this season. Had him near the top of my draft board. Rodgers makes a nice #2, assuming he can shake off the shoulder problem. Garcia/Frerotte were late round value picks. In the first leg, I really screwed myself with only 2 viable QBs and Palmer's injury nearly killed me. Wanted more depth there this time around.

Graham, Earnest TBB RB - 10

Jackson, Steven STL RB - 5

Morris, Maurice SEA RB (P) - 4

Morris, Sammy NEP RB - 4

Perry, Chris CIN RB - 10

OK, my choice of Jackson at 1.02 was met with a resounding THUD. But given the 3RR draft, I needed a stud RB without a bye week as my "base" and Jackson's pass catching ability appealed to me with the PPR format. Plus, sending Linehan to the glue factory indicates to me that the Rams are going to ride Jackson into the ground the rest of the season. Graham gives me a decent #2 and the Morris twins were pretty decent situational value with both post-bye and Perry adds another starting RB to the roster, even if he's a dud. Probably my strongest unit.

Brown, Reggie PHI WR (O) - 7

Driver, Donald GBP WR - 8

Henderson, Devery NOS WR - 9

Hester, Devin CHI WR - 8

Houshmandzadeh, T.J. CIN WR - 10

Moss, Randy NEP WR - 4

I held my nose on the Moss pick since the jury is out on Cassel getting him the ball each week. But again, getting a top flight WR post-bye made sense there. Driver and TJ are nice PPR picks and I'm gambling with the rest of the WR crew. If Brown can eventually come back healthy, he's a sleeper. I wish I'd been a little smarter on WR in the draft and I missed out on some guys in the middle rounds that I really targeted, plus, I started getting pickled around the time that I needed some quality depth here. Oh well.

Boss, Kevin NYG TE - 4

Heap, Todd BAL TE - 2

Uh....They both play Tight End. Let's just move on.

Gould, Robbie CHI PK - 8

Rackers, Neil ARI PK - 7

Kickers, who needs 'em? As far as I'm concerned, these two can chip in a couple of 3 pointers a game and I'll be happy.

Colts, Indianapolis IND Def - 4

Panthers, Carolina CAR Def - 9

Patriots, New England NEP Def - 4

For some reason (total mental breakdown?), I'm pretty happy with this haul. I LOVE the Pats defense going forward against some shaky opposition. Of course I'm a whiny tool homer so I might be a bit biased there. Seriously, these three should net me nice points during this round.

All in all, I came out of the draft thinking I was dead meat. In sober retrospect, I'm now thinking that my cow is on life-support. What do you want for a Friday night draft that went past my bedtime with a pickled brain?

OK, I definitely wasn’t on my game last night. It’s still a decent team, with a legit shot, but I made a couple of bonehead mistakes.

2.12 24. Twilight Romo, Tony DAL QB (10) (1.02,2.09,3.07)

10.01 109. Twilight Schaub, Matt HOU QB

Romo was on my short list of top QB’s that I liked, and had great schedules. If I didn’t get him or Favre, I would have gone QB late, but he was there at 2.12, so I grabbed him. I also expect Romo to score his 4 weeks, so all I cared about QB2 was a non-10 bye. Unfortunately, thanx to mindfart #1, I had an old sched that had HOU still playing Cin instead of BAL. Oh well. I’m still comfy with my QBs, even just 2. If Romo goes down, I’m hurting anyways, so a 3rd probably wasn’t going to make a difference.

1.01 1. Twilight Brown, Ronnie MIA RB (1.03,1.04,1.02)

5.12 60. Twilight Jones, Julius SEA RB (3.06, 3.09, 6.03)

14.01 157. Twilight Taylor, Chester MIN RB (8)

17.12 204. Twilight Bradshaw, Ahmad NYG RB

22.01 253. Twilight Thomas, Pierre NOS RB (9)

9.12 108. Twilight Maroney, Laurence NEP RB

I know 3RR dictated for most that value was better in the 2nd half of the draft, but I always go by the philosophy that the most control over my picks the better. I hadn’t settled on Ronnie at the time I selected him, I just like the higher pick. As for Ronnie, I know teams are going to figure the trick formation, but MIA’s schedule is nice for the run anyways, combined with no bye to worry about. ADP and Bush were my other choices, but the bye was my tiebreaker.

After Ronnie, my philosophy in these drafts is get 1 RB that will score every week, then scattershot the rest of the RBs, preferably those without byes. I don’t care which of those 5 score, but I’m confident at least 1 will score double digits. With JJ one of those, who I think will be very solid (again no bye) and a great value, I kinda like the group. The exception is Maroney. I accidently picked him, but, with the draft moving like pond water, I didn’t care, as he wasn’t that much worse than Leon Washington (my wanted pick). OK he sucks, but he MIGHT be useful. But now for brainfart #2. I looked at League 1’s draft, saw how low Sproles was going, and mentally made a note to look for him about this point. Instead, by the time it came around, I flat out forgot him somehow. Oh well. I would have loved my RBs with Sproles. Now, they are just OK.

3.12 36. Twilight Welker, Wes NEP WR (4.08, 4.05. 3.05)

4.01 37. Twilight Holt, Torry STL WR (4.06, 4.11, 4.06)

6.01 61. Twilight Boldin, Anquan ARI WR (7) (5.09, 5.05, 5.08)

8.01 85. Twilight Ocho Cinco, Chad CIN WR (10) (6.11, 7.03, 7.08)

11.12 132. Twilight Stuckey, Chansi NYJ WR

12.01 133. Twilight Stokley, Brandon DEN WR (8)

16.01 181. Twilight Hixon, Domenik NYG WR

This group will make or break me. Welker should be good each week. Bolden’s probable 3 weeks active can be a difference maker. And, Carson or Fitzpatrick, I think Chad will get off the schneid at least one or 2 week of the 4 possible. Holt was my toughest decision, as Coles looked REAL attractive there as well, but I went with Holt, as I think he might be motivated now that Linehan is gone. Overall, I think I can get 3-4 decent scores each week, with 3 of the guys having huge day potentials.

7.12 84. Twilight Fasano, Anthony MIA TE (9.01, 9.10, 9.03)

15.12 180. Twilight Lee, Donald GBP TE (8)

19.12 228. Twilight Royal, Robert BUF TE (6)

TE’s have seemed to have the biggest variation in scoring this year, aside from the top. And those top 4 guys went about ½ to a full round before I was willing to draft them. Fasano isn’t a bad compromise, IMO. The other 2 are pretty interchangeable with about 10 others.

18.01 205. Twilight Longwell, Ryan MIN PK (8)

21.12 252. Twilight Bryant, Matt TBB PK (10)

13.12 156. Twilight Vikings, Minnesota MIN Def (8)

20.01 229. Twilight Cardinals, Arizona ARI Def (7)

2 of each. I looked over the scoring, and that 3rd D just wasn’t that useful. No actual analysis, just visuals, but it looked like the average top score was used was only around a 3 pt increase. That’s not enough of a lottery ticket for 1 spot. Not when a position player has SEVEN slots to possibly improve. The odds really say that I’ll get a better improvement from the position players.

Overall, I think I will finish at least in the middle of the pack, but I'll need some luck to advance.

2.12 24. Twilight Romo, Tony DAL QB (10) (1.02,2.09,3.07)

10.01 109. Twilight Schaub, Matt HOU QB

I did the same stupid thing with the same two players tonight in League 4... felt like a rookie!

This was easily the toughest draft I've ever prepared for. Covering only 5 middle weeks of the reason, there were variables to consider that would usually be ignored. Specific team schedules were 100000X more important then in any other draft I've ever done. While I've always accounted for injuries, even small (one week type) injuries had huge impacts in a players value.

I spent a lot of time coming up with a comprehensive set of cheetsheets for this one. I tried to account for schedules and injuries.

My kids have seen me do a ton of drafts at this computer, but they were surprised when I explained what I was doing, because I've always run with a heavily talored DD and nothing else. This time, I had 6 seperate positional cheetsheets, strength of schedule charts for every position, and of course, the actual NFL schedule. I had papers all over the place!

In the end, I think the efforts paid off well. This was a solid group and value was hard to find in the first half of the draft. Normaly, there are a bunch of players slipping well past where I'd take them, or going way too early. There were a few in this draft, but not anywhere near what I'm used to seeing. That changed a bit in the second half. I think that was because several guys were drinking, and the pace was very slow.

(5th) McNabb, Donovan PHI QB (P) - 7

(12th) Edwards, Trent BUF QB (Q) - 6

(22nd) Losman, J.P. BUF QB - 6

McNabb was one of the few players I went into the draft specifically targetting, but had several other cheaper QB's in mind I would have been OK with; so I had decided I was taking him in the fifth if he was there, but no sooner. I like his schedule a lot for this time period (SF, Atl, Sea, NYG @home), and had him ranked #3 on my board. I really liked Edwards as my backup, playing SD at home during Philly's bye, and took a real chance he'd still be around late. The risk was based on a week 6 bye and an injury. Because of the injury, I took Losman in the last round as badly needed catastrophy insurance. As long as McNabb stays healthy, I should get top 5 QB results.

(1st) Barber, Marion DAL RB - 10

(4th) James, Edgerrin ARI RB - 7

(6th) McFadden, Darren OAK RB (Q) - 5

(10th) Dunn, Warrick TBB RB - 10

(13th) Jackson, Brandon GBP RB - 8

I had chosen to draft from the midde of the pack in order to make sure I never got stuck at the wrong end of any runs. From the 1.07 slot, I had hoped that Ronnie Brown might slide to me. I prayed for Portis, but didn't expect him. Barber was my #6 RB, and I was more then happy to snag him at 1.07. He doesn't have a favorable schedule, but week 7 against the Rams will counter the loss of McNabb very well. Edgerrin James isn't a very sexy pick, but Arizona has continued to give him plenty of action. McFadden might be dinged, but his team will keep featuring him as long as he has a pulse, plus he's already had his bye. Dunn is under-rated right now, especially in this format. Chucky has given him 10+ touches every game, and he's made the most of them. He'l score a couple of times for me. Brandon Jackson has also seen 8 touches or so most games, and may see more if Grant continues to struggle. Since half of his touches are catches, and this is PPR, BJ is a potential steal in the 13th. Several guys may have better 1-2 combos, but I don't think any team in this league has better depth for PPR. H2H, I'd be average, but this is best ball, and this group should be dominant in this format.

(2nd) Smith, Steve CAR WR - 9

(3rd) Cotchery, Jerricho NYJ WR - 5

(8th) Bryant, Antonio TBB WR - 10

(9th) Camarillo, Greg MIA WR - 4

(11th) Clayton, Mark BAL WR - 2

(18th) Lloyd, Brandon CHI WR (D) - 8

(20th) Washington, Nate PIT WR - 6

Steve Smith was my #3 ranked WR for this draft, and I was more then happy to pick him up in the second. He wasn't exactly a steal as only 3 or 4 WR's had been picked at that point, but I didn't expect him to be available. He has been coming on lately and has a terrific schedule for this contest (@TB, NO, ARI, @OAK). I had Cotchery ranked #8, but wanted to put him higher. No bye and a cake schedule made him a no-brainer in the third. I've always had good luck finding decent WR's, so I waited a while to come back to them. Bryant and Camarillo aren't exciting, but both have gotten consistant targets, and steady production. Both are their team's #1, and between them should provide me consistant WR3 production. I'm not a fan of Clayton, but had another player sniped from me in the 11th. With his bye behind him, he's OK as my fifth. Lloyd in the 18th was gift, really. He'll miss 2 weeks, maybe 3, but he was the clear #1 in Chicago before he got hurt. With three Wr's already in the fold with no bye, and no expected starters on bye week 8, I felt he was a low risk well worth taking. I love Washington as a depth WR in a BB league. He's useless in H2H because he's so inconsistant, but he's likely to put up a 15-20 point week at some point during this contest...leading to an extra win or two. Overall, I think my WR's should be steady, and a bit above average. They aren't likely to lead the league in points, but will likely score in the top half EVERY week.

(7th) Clark, Dallas IND TE - 4

(16th) Scheffler, Tony DEN TE (O) - 8

(19th) Shiancoe, Vishante MIN TE - 8

I had hoped to grab Owen Daniels at TE, but watched him taken right before me. Still, I had Clark ranked #6, and the 7th round seemed a good value for that. I had planned to take a stronger TE2 (Heap, Smith type), but every round saw another option elsewhere I liked better. I knew Scheffler was out for week 6, but decided to take him at his word about it being a short-term thing, and felt the risk/reward easily justified taking him in the 16th. I had only planned to take 2 TE's, and a third DST, but when I landed the DST's I did, AND saw Shiancoe still available in the 19th, I had to scoop him up. I feel this TE group is merely average right now, but if Scheffler comes back week 7 strong, it could quickly become much better then average. Even better is that with Clark in the fold, my floor for TE scoring is pretty high.

(14th) Titans, Tennessee TEN Def - 6

(15th) Eagles, Philadelphia PHI Def - 7

I was mildly surprised to find my #3 DST still available in the 14th, but I was shocked to find my #4 still there a full round later. AS I already wrote, I had planned to take 3 DST's, but changed my mind when I was able to snag Philly. I especially love Philly for week 6 at SF, but these 2 team's schedules fit together well. Yeah, I know...it's just DST's, but it's still a good group!

(17th) Kaeding, Nate SDC PK - 9

(21st) Stover, Matt BAL PK - 2

Just kickers, but Kaeding should be among the better, and no bye for Stover.

Overall, I am very, very pleased with my draft. Looking over my team, I don't see a true weak spot barring injury. No week has more then three players on a bye except for four in week 8, but they're all depth players then. Three WR's have no bye at all. I fully expect this squad to be a strong contender.

Bulger, Marc STL QB - 5

Roethlisberger, Ben PIT QB (P) - 6

Russell, JaMarcus OAK QB - 5

I made a calculated risk that shaub would have been mine instead of Rothelisberger, b/c of by weeke issue for the drafters btw me and my next pick. As Twilight said, he forgot about the switch with HOU & BAL byes. His fatal mistake for his team was not certain death for my team. But it would take some genuis drafting skills to shift gears on the fly. I HAD TO DRAFT BEN ROETHLISBERGER INSTEAD. Amazing skill saved me from such an intense situation. But hey, Big Ben aint so bad. Esp since the no hudde is the only thing that's been working lately for them.

Jackson, Fred BUF RB - 6

Jones, Felix DAL RB - 10

Parker, Willie PIT RB (P) - 6

Peterson, Adrian MIN RB - 8

Pittman, Michael DEN RB - 8

Dominating crew here. These guys are like a pond full oh Parahna waiting for a bunch of yards, receptions, and touchdowns who are dressed up in suits made of meat to fall into the water.

Colston, Marques NOS WR (Q) - 9

Davis, Craig SDC WR - 9

Hilliard, Ike TBB WR - 10

Jackson, DeSean PHI WR - 7

Moss, Sinorice NYG WR - 4

Owens, Terrell DAL WR - 10

Ward, Hines PIT WR - 6

Domintaing corps here. Some say I took Colston too early. Some don't know what I know. Its like I was born to win. My last name should be Winborn. Its not though. Its Hart. Yea, Just what it takes to move on this competition. Heart. These WR's 85% heart. And 25% soul. Yea, that a total of 110%, what they give every game. TO, Hines? pffft . See you in round 3.

Davis, Vernon SFO TE - 9

Olsen, Greg CHI TE - 8

Smith, L.J. PHI TE (P) - 7

These three TE are the most fearsome group of TE's ever assembled on one team. The layers upon layers of complexity is mind boggling and baffoon baffling. Most people won't know what hit em. LJ smif is about ready to take the TE world by storm. His abiltiy to give himself the opportunities to help his team out seem endless. Olsen has mixed martial arts fights scheduled befoer every game this year. How's that for tough. Verny D has caught like six passes this year. SIX.

Crosby, Mason GBP PK - 8

Elam, Jason ATL PK - 7

Both these dudes have only one idol ever. MASTERBLASTER.

Saints, New Orleans NOS Def - 9

Texans, Houston HOU Def - 2

These D/ST's are some of the greatest collections of talent that has even been assembled in the history of the planet.

Listen to some of the comments that were said during the draft.

"Fro, Gnarly drafting so far. This is exactly the type of team that will run away with this. Your team though 8 rounds is dominant. Its posters like you that keep FBG's so special. BTW, where you watching the games this Sunday?" ~ D.Dodds

"Your genius selection of Felix Jones virtualy guarantee's your advancement into the next leg." ~ switz

"Fro, After seeing this draft, We're prepared to come up on our offer to where you originially asked and that includes the use of the plane. " ~ J.Bryant

" Frooodw, I like ayout tema and ,y team the best afaeter thes many rounds so fatrr." J.Woods

See, this kind of support only reassures the fact that I have no chance. PEACE

Very solid draft from start to finish. In looking at some of the reaches taking place in League 1, I think we were all the better for it. Probably the scariest thing for me about this draft was that so many people were kissing my butt during the thing. History says that if too many of your league mates think you dominated, you're probably an easy out. :potkettle:

In all seriousness, no complaints. In this format injuries are going to play a major role [Wood = Captain Obvious] so I make no bold predictions about the outcome other than to say, barring major injuries, I'm a real contender.

I'll do a full write-up of my team early in the coming work week, but for now I thought I'd at least throw something out there to get a much-needed :sehorn:.

Teams that will be fighting for the three advancement spots: BusMan (obvi), Wood, renesauz, Team Legacy, Fro.

Twilight

Bryant, Matt TBB PK - 10

Longwell, Ryan MIN PK - 8

Longwell has some great matchups, and the two make a very solid pairing.

Workhorse

Gould, Robbie CHI PK - 8

Rackers, Neil ARI PK - 7

Both have fairly tough kicker schedules during the next five weeks.

PatsFanCT

Akers, David PHI PK - 7

Bironas, Rob TEN PK - 6

Both project to be middle of the pack in the next five weeks.

Fullback Fro

Crosby, Mason GBP PK - 8

Elam, Jason ATL PK - 7

Elam has scored at least 8 points in every game. Crosby should start strong, but fade after the bye. Dodds loves these picks.

alonegunman

Vinatieri, Adam IND PK - 4

Risky to go with just one kicker, especially with 22 roster spots. Vinatieri is no longer the kicker that myth and legend suggest, and the Colts have not been providing the scoring opportunities to hide that fact.

Team Legacy

Dawson, Phil CLE PK - 5

At least he has already his bye week.

renesauz

Kaeding, Nate SDC PK - 9

Stover, Matt BAL PK - 2

Kaeding is a strong pick. Stover, not so much, although he has had his bye.

Mike Herman

Scobee, Josh JAC PK - 7

Suisham, Shaun WAS PK - 10

I have them both projected as top ten during the upcoming five week stretch, even with their byes.

BusMan

Brown, Kris HOU PK - 2

Mare, Olindo SEA PK - 4

Could very well be the best pairing out of all 12 teams!

Jason Wood

Gostkowski, Stephen NEP PK - 4

Nugent, Mike NYJ PK (O) - 5

Gostkowski is atop the list for the next five weeks. Nugent depends on if/when he is healthy enough to kick again, although word is he is getting close.

JaxBill

Carney, John NYG PK - 4

Prater, Matt DEN PK - 8

Tynes, Lawrence NYG PK - 4

Excellent group, although he had to waste an extra roster spot to have the NYG's kicker spot covered.

Neil Beaufort Zod

Folk, Nick DAL PK - 10

Kasay, John CAR PK - 9

Both project to be middle of the pack in the next five weeks.

Great analysis Mike. Just what we expect out of ya :tinfoilhat:

This will be a pretty tight league. Through the morning games, We have the lowest high score of the 4 leagues, but the highest low (NBZ and Wood, respectively).

I would be careful throwing those numbers up. Eli Manning and Brandon Jacobs, my #1s at their respective positions, go tonight. Barring a complete Giants flop tonight I'll finish considerably higher than that.

It's pretty obvious that they are prelims and he clearly states "everyone else has someone going tomorrow". If someone has a chance, post the current scores. It's interesting to seeing where the various leagues are relative to each other.

Patsfan and TL make the biggest jumps from Mon nite. My chances for advancement are now crap without Romo.

Oh well.

I took a little crap the other night for two picks in particular... I guess Braylon at 3.7 wasn't a half bad idea then ay?

Of course, the other scrutinized pick was Westbrook at 5.7.

Getting CBuck at 11.7 didn't hurt.

It sort of depends on whether or not you advance, right? Right now we're all looking up at the top three. You had a strong draft, but I suggest we wait to take bows and pat our backs for a few weeks.

LOL, I took Westbrook at 3.12 in League 1 and choose not to take CBuck.

Advancing is not the point, the rest of my picks could come up completely lame. The point was to state that teams dismissing Braylon at 3.7 and Westy/CBuck combo at 5/11 are probably re-thinking that now... so this was for those chucklers in the chat room. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE... I'm just stating the obvious. My advancing or not doesn't change the fact that those were good picks thru the first week. I wouldn't have ever thought about targeting CBuck had I not been a Westy owner. Now, if only I can get some production out of Winslow before it's too late...

Well, OK. For me, advancing pretty much is the point. Good picks through the first week is great as long as it means you finish top three at the end. if not, well...not so much. I don't really care what other people say or think about my picks, though. But those guys really came through for you, so congrats.

First of all, I feel a bit sheepish posting my team write-up after the first week of the league, but weekends are family time so I had to wait until I got a slice of the work week available to put this out there. I'm pumped to get off to such a great start, but of course this is a five week race, not a one week sprint.

KDS Decision

I knew I was only going to have time to draft Friday at 9:00 ET, so all my KDS picks were in this league. My first choice was 1.07, but that was snagged before I got my second choice of 1.09. My thought was that there would be lots of value to scoop with the 3RR, especially given that there is limited ADP/value data available for the atypical timeframe of this league.

Pre Draft Analysis/Setup

I set up the Lineup Dominator with all the scoring and other settings associated with this league, and after reviewing both Dodds' and Bloom's forward projections, decided my gut was more in line with Bloom. I used the LD like the Draft Dominator, which ended up being harder than I thought it would be: no draft status window to make selections easy, no best value available window, and really not much DVBD. Instead, I just used a pure value list based on Bloom's projections and tried to put together a solid squad that covered weak spots with quantity.

The Draft

Admittedly, it was a Friday night in the BusMan household which meant a few drinks. By the end of the sucker I was nodding off big time, and afterwards awoke out of a dazed slumber Saturday morning almost certain I hadn't drafted a second kicker. After talking it over with my younger brother (who was in town for the UVA/ECU football game), he confirmed that I had picked two kickers, "but for some reason you took four quarterbacks!" Yoink. Well, lets get to it:

1.09 - Brandon Marshall, WR - DEN/8: Honestly, I would've taken B-Marsh if I had the #1 overall pick. Yes, I'm a homer (check out my leg 1 write up). But that aside, B-Marsh in a PPR league is straight cash money, dawgs. He's cooled off a bit lately, and he has a bye week coming up, but I'm really looking forward to him scoring all kinds of points for me in Weeks 7, 9, and 10.

2.04 - Maurice Jones-Drew, RB - JAC/7: Mojo was the 12th RB on my board, so I had to take him since I took a WR to start. I thought MJD would likely light up my "schemed up a win against Tampa Bay" Broncos defense in Week 6, and wuddyaknow it actually happened.

3.04 - Andre Johnson, WR - HOU/2: AJ takes the #2 WR spot on my squad thanks in large part to that wacky Week 2 bye. Blowing up in Week 6 was not expected, but is certainly appreciated. If Schaub stays hot, Johnson will easily compete with B-Marsh for top honors on team BusMan each week.

4.09 - Thomas Jones, RB - NYJ/5: TJ was actually the value pick in the 3rd round, as I had him at RB13, just after MJD. Luckily enough, he fell to me here and I snatched him easily. I was actually concerned about Leon Washington eating away at his looks, but after Week 6 I'm feeling much more solid about this guy.

5.04 - Jamal Lewis, RB - CLE/5: My QB targets were going earlier than I liked, so I took the 15th RB on my board. No byes and a seemingly solid grip on the #1 job in Cleveland are things I like about Jamal.

6.09 - Derrick Mason, WR - BAL/2: Mason was the 18th WR on my board due to a lack of a bye week and the PPR scoring in this league. I'm still sloughing QBs.

7.04 - Tony Gonzalez, TE - KC/6: Despite knowing he wouldn't score for me in Week 6 due to a bye, and given the uncertainty of his status in KC, I still like Gonzo as my primary TE for the home stretch. I'm not sure how I feel about him potentially going to a different NFL team.

8.09 - Vincent Jackson, WR - SD/9: A solid WR corps really seems to be a key to success in these draft-and-go best ball leagues. VJax slots in nicely as WR #4.

9.04 - Matt Cassel, QB - NE/4: Finally time for a QB, and I take...MATT CASSEL!??!?!! Actually, I have him as the 7th QB on my overall board, so not bad all things considered. But this is the point at which it has become crystal clear that I'm taking at least three quarterbacks, and my increasingly liquor-soaked brain might just make it four.

10.09 - David Garrard, QB - JAC/7: Its definitely time to start loading up on viable QBs for a see-what-sticks approach.

11.04 - Kevin Faulk, RB - NE/4: Faulk was a guy I wanted all along in this PPR scoring league. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

12.09 - Derek Anderson, QB - CLE/5: Yep, a 3rd QB by the 12th round, and all in the last four rounds. At this point I'm counting heavily on my RB and WR starters as I won't have as much depth at those positions.

13.04 - New York Giants, DEF - NYG/4: Lots of sacks and low points against, right? After Week 6...um...maybe?

14.09 - John Carlson, TE - SEA/4: Just need someone who might score when Gonzo is on his bye (YAHTZEE!) and maybe can push the older man from week to week.

15.04 - Ryan Torain, RB - DEN/8: A classic homer reach. Hey, this guy might not even play for me this leg, and if he does it won't be until Week 9 at the earliest. BRILLIANT!

16.09 - Seattle Seahawks, DEF - SEA/4: No bye weeks and the 11th DEF on my board---solid enough, hopefully.

17.04 - Kris Brown, PK - HOU/2: A kicker! And with the Mike Herman seal of approval. Or is it kiss of death?

18.09 - Javon Walker, WR - OAK/5: The vodka has paid for a night's stay in the inn of my mind. W. T. F.

19.04 - Michael Jenkins, WR - ATL/7: With Laurent Robinson dinged up, Jenkins might break into the starting lineup when he catches 5 plus balls in a game. I dig.

20.09 - Leonard Weaver, RB - SEA/4: Maybe (MAYBE) a goalline TD or two and a few receptions?

21.04 - Olindo Mare, PK - NO/4: YES! I did take a second kicker!

22.09 - Jon Kitna, QB - DET/4: This is what happens when you pass out on your keyboard.

The Team

QB Matt Cassel, NE/4QB David Garrard, JAC/7QB Derek Anderson, CLE/5QB Jon Kitna, DET/4RB Maurice Jones-Drew, JAC/7RB Thomas Jones, NYJ/5RB Jamal Lewis, CLE/5RB Kevin Faulk, NE/4RB Ryan Torain, DEN/8RB Leonard Weaver, SEA/4WR Brandon Marshall, DEN/8WR Andre Johnson, HOU/2WR Derrick Mason, BAL/2WR Vincent Jackson, SD/9WR Javon Walker, OAK/5WR Michael Jenkins, ATL/7TE Tony Gonzalez, KC/6TE John Carlson, SEA/4PK Kris Brown, HOU/2PK Olindo Mare, NO/4DEF New York Giants, NYG/4DEF Seattle Seahawks, SEA/4I like my squad but its lacking in depth thanks to my QB decision. I'm glad I'm off to a hot start as I'll need it to navigate the bye weeks. The Results...

...remain to be seen, but I fully expect to be in contention for advancement throughout leg 2.

It was fun guys good luck to all!

Looks like a four horse race for two spots. Hopefully my pony's got the gas to stay at the front!!

I was just giving you guys a chance last week, playing without a QB. I will be taking over my rightful spot in 2nd place soon.
Except you had slipped to third BEFORE you played with no QB's. Feel free to make your way back to third though. :welcome:

I don't anticipate falling to third (from 5th), but if I do, that should be fine. Don't the top three move on?

Could be a rough week for me.

Barber has a bad matchup. Edge has been benched, McFadden and Dunn hurt. (Will Brandon Jackson do ANYTHING for me????)

Steve Smith is on a bye, Cotch is playing hurt. Can Mark Clayton score enough to make up for it?

Still have enugh ponies...but little or nothing backing them up this week. I'll be thrilled to finish in the top 6 or so and stay top 3 overall.

We're running 1-2 so far this week, renesauz. Thrilled?

:lmao: My depth WR's came up big. A. Bryant, Camarillo, and Mark Clayton were supposed to platoon as WR3. :(
