Ultimate Survivor - League 3, leg 2 (1 Viewer)

Wow the scores were low in this league. My 8-4 would have been 11-1 here. Must be a ton of points sitting on the bench behind decent starters????
Or more even/better drafting across all the teams.
Or better top end drafters....Pretty much all the same players were drafted sans maybe a dozen??? It's more a matter of how they were distributed and the luck of the actual on the field that impacts the results. Excluding the people that mailed it in and those who couldn't be bothered to understand the rules/format, there's not much separating the rest and luck is the biggest factor. For example, Schuab put up 10 or so points for me in the last minute. The Barber owner picked up 12-15 on a freak play. Heck, the teams with Arizona D picked up 6 because one of their guys was hurt on the last play of the game drawing an offsides penalty giving the Cowboys enough yards to kick a FG to send it into overtime...which also gave the Folk owners 5 or so extra points.
This kind of stuff happens every week in the NFL. It tends to balance out over the teams over the course of the season, but over 5 weeks, not so much.

The guy who should be worried is Clayton. We all thought he had a good team during the draft, yet he threw up a clunker in week 1. The number of good, balance teams in this league makes it harder to come back, imo.

Feeling fortunate after closing out 7-4. I was hoping to escape Week 6 at 5-6 with my QB crew, no D/St and sans MLynch/FrJax and JReed. With only Breaston off in Week 7, and only Dunn off in Week 10, Top 3 still looks highly unlikely, but Top 6 is certainly within reach.

In Pyrrhic Victory Standings, Dufresne finished 9-2, but CGray, bryhamm and Unlucky all finished sub-.500, so I'm pleased to be ahead of most of the pack there too.

Some players going here and there, but this is what I think we are looking at this week...

David Yudkin 11-0

Aaron 10-1

Nittany Lion 9-2

LHUCKS 8-3

Clayton 7-4

Buck Naked 6-5

Ministry 5-6

RC94 4-7

Andy 3-8

Bryhamm 2-9

Faletti 1-10

UNLucky 0-11

And this is what the standing could look like...pretty crazy looking

David Yudkin 16-6 (344)

Ministry of Pain 16-6 (310)

BUCK NAKED 16-6 (300)...very close with the next guy

LHUCKS 16-6 (300)

Aaron 13-9

Andy 12-10

Clayton 11-11

Bryhamm 7-15

RC94 6-16

Faletti 2-22

UNLUCKY 0-22

We'll see how the Ministry of Nostradomas does in predictions. If this holds, I see a 10 horse, maybe 8 horse race coming towards the halfway point.

I'm  in the Projected Overall Standings. If the Projected Weekly Scores hold up, it's going to be nice to be up in 16-6 Territory.

Looks like it's going to be a tight race to the end. Funny thing - I'm in a whole bunch of $$$ Leagues and National High-Stakes Contests, but I'm more intrigued with how this thing is going to play out than any of them! Very cool contest!

That's funny. Same with me. I found myself really p.o.'d yesterday after Anthony Gonzalez' TD was reversed because it cost me 9 points or so in this contest and not even thinking about some of my big $ leagues/

Sorry Nittany, I'll redo them after the game tonight.I also am very intrigued with how this is going to play out...injuries are starting to factor in heavily...I have Parker who I thought was coming back, now who knows...LT looks iffy, Felix is out, maybe Westbrook can take another week off and Buckhalter will keep things moving.

And you thought me taking Mewelde was overkill and a wasted pick.

looks like I should go 11-1 this week, which was badly needed after a 3-9 showing last week that involved a couple losses by a very narrow margin.

1.David Yudkin 17-5

2. Ministry of Pain 17-5...think Yudkin has me on points.

3. NittanyLions 16-6

3. LHUCKS 16-6...shame we can't converse with him.

Interesting records there, GB. You need to stop beating yourself.
dohmake that 10-1 and 3-8, leaving me at 13-9 after 2 weeks. I'll take it. could have used a few of these points last week though.

Not sure what remaining players everyone else has, but I move up for every point Kerry Collins scores cause he is my only active QB this week. Decent shot at finishing at the top.

I have Reggie Wayne going tonight, problem is the gap for me to leapfrog to move up is somewhere in about the 25-30 ranges...I would need a really big night tonight from Wayne, doubt that will happen against the Titans

Given that I essentially spotted everyone a first round pick with Reggie Bush out, I have to be happy with the way things are going. Too bad Nate Washington had a long bomb called back or I'd be in the 180s again this week.

Ah, so MoP had me with an extra win last week. Thanks for the update.

Well, fellow USLers, I've enjoyed my run over the last 3 Weeks, but I'm thinking tomorrow might well be the suck for ol' nl...

Frerotte and the Vikes have one of the highest projected Over/Under #'s in this weeks tilt vs the Texans, but how much will come through Gus' gun? When you're gambling on Sidney Rice's potential impact, well, it's a weak play, at best. Not expecting great shakes out of JaMarcus regardless, but stranger things have happened. After all, it IS Halloween Weekend.

My RB Group of Lynch/FrJackson and TJones/LWashington go head to head in Buffalo - Studs, Duds and Vultures aplenty might yeild mediocre results across the group. I gather Dunn's been ruled out of what looked like a tasty matchup vs the Chiefs. Will secret weapon Torain make a statement? Regardless, I'm pretty sure Andre Hall won't.

With Steve Smith and Muhammed on bye, my WR Corps is thin and looks weak. Cotchery vs the Bills? Meh. Holding out hope for Holt with the juicy matchup vs the Cards, and Breaston vs the Rams in the same game, but they're both looking like the 3rd options in their respective passing games. Josh Reed is on the shelf, and I've got nothing else.

I need to OD on OD - Over Dose on Owen Daniels. Dustin Keller gets more involved every week, but I've got too many dogs in that fight as it is, and that fight just looks ugly.

No Kasay, so it's Prater or Bust at PK.

If there's ONE D/ST I'd cast my lot with for a LockDownTM effort when there's a dire need for it, it's the Titans. One can only hope.

No Week 10 Byes for my squad, so there's hope for a late rally, but the race for #2 and #3 is as tight as it gets, and almost everyone is still in contention. A very possible sub-.500 effort this Week for me just might take me from Penthouse to Outhouse. With the checkered flag in sight, I need to pit at a most inopportune moment.

GLTA in Week 9!

By my count, here's where we are pre-MNF:

Yudkin 156.6 (Campbell -16.5, Moore -7.3, Washington -16.2)

Buck Naked 155.8 (No one remaining)

Faletti 142.8 (+PIT DEF)

Clayton 139.1 (+WAS DEF -11)

Nittanylion 136.1 (No one remaining)

RC94 128.5 (+Big Ben -20.6)

MOP 126.2 (+FWP)

Andy D 123.2 (+Ward -6.8, Randle El -9.3)

Rudnicki 123.2 (+Betts-10.7 (but he's not playing), Miller -4.4)

LHUCKS 109.3 (+Portis -9.3, Holmes -5.8, Cooley -10.3, Reed or Suisham -17) (One of the first 3 could be a flex -6.4)

Unlucky 106.3 (No one remaining)

Bryhamm 92.2 (+Moss -1.2)

Well, here are the tallies going into MNF. Between the Steelers and the 'skins, there are plenty of cards still in play...

...I logged a respectable 136.1, but that only puts me in 5th at best this week (7-4), and my hand is played out, so I can't move up.

Looks like Yuds takes 11-0...

Faletti has a shot at #2, passing buck naked if the Steelers have a big night - he gets credit for whatever they do...

buck looks like he'll probably finish 9-2 at worst...

Carlton looks like he's staying put - Skins have to beat 11, and then he has to make up 3.7 plus whatever the Steelers post. Only a Herculean effort gets him past buck naked...

I'm only falling, with my week complete, but not too worried about RC94 - Ben needs to top 20.6, and throw another 7.6 on top of that to catch me, and that kind of outing on the road vs the 'skins seems unlikely. MOP will get everything FWP puts up, though, and he only needs 10 points to pass RC94 and me, which seems likely. Dufresne will almost surely have either Hines or Antwaan surpass 6.8, but it's tough imagining both passing 9.3, and putting up enough additional points to keep chase. Rudnicki should get on the board with HMiller, but that only goes so far. LHUCKS has a real shot to move, covering small #'s with Portis, SHolmes, and Cooley. Unlucky's done, and might just get passed by bryhamm.

David Yudkin (156.6 pts) (Jason Campbell, Mewelde Moore, Nate Washington) (QB:16.5, RB/WR:8.6, 7.3)

buck naked (155.8 pts) - COMPLETE

Faletti McMichaels (142.8 pts) (Steeler D/ST - his other D/ST (Carolina) is on bye, so he'll post)

Clayton Gray (139.1 pts) (Redskins D/ST) (D/ST:11)

nittanylion (136.1 pts) - COMPLETE

RC94 (128.5 pts) - (Big Ben) (QB:20.6)

Ministry of Pain (126.2 pts) (FWParker) (RB:0 - only 4 RB on Roster,Tomlinson on bye, so MFL 'started' Felix Jones (scratch). FWP will post)

Andy Dufresne (123.2 pts) (HWard, Randle-El) (RB/WR:6.8, 9.3)

Aaron Rudnicki (123.2 pts) (Betts, HMiller) (TE:4.4, RB/WR:10.7)

LHUCKS (109.3 pts) (Portis, SHolmes, Cooley, JReed, Suisham) (RB/WR:5.8, 6.4, 7.8, TE:10.1, PK:17.0)

Likely 4-5 of us are playing for 2 spots next week. I really need Fast Willie to pour it on tonight. Next week I get a full thrust at RB with both LT and FWP...it's a miracle I am where I am with no RBs, and Wayne has not exactly been lightining it up. My 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks have all been very average to almost bombs really. I ahve been lucky with the Michael Jenkins type picks I made later in the draft.

GO WILLIE GO!!!

If this week ends like you just posted, I would be in unless Clayton went 11-0 and I went 0-11 AND Clayton outscored me by almost 100 points. (I guess someone above him could also move behind him, but the point remains pretty much the same.)

I'm glad I'm even in the discussion at this point with Larry Johnson (4th round), Winslow and Hasselbeck picks all coming up essentially zeroes for me!

David Yudkin 11-0...38-5...Book him as in

Buck Naked 10-1...25-19...Alive and kicking but he'll need a repeat performance

Faletti...........9-2....15-29...no chance but again, this is good for some of us trying for the last 2 spots

MinistryofPain 8-3...30-14...Fast Willie did just enough...oh how this has got to hurt for Carlton...we were tied for a bit, that last yard for FWP was painful.

That's really the race right there...I don't think Aaron can leapfrog enough teams to make it in...I could go 0-11, he could go 11-0, but there are still a lot of other teams that are 5-7 games ahead of him.

QB: Bulger @NYJ, Delhomme @Oak...could be worse...no Derek Anderson though

RB: Tomlinson at home vs KC, and FWP at home vs INDY...I like the match ups...2 of the worst at stopping the run...considering I ahve gotten crapomola form them so far, this would be a great week for them to go off.

WR: Reggie Wayne @Pitt(not good), Lee Evans @NE(not good), D.Mason @Hou(not bad), R.Davis, M.Jenkins, DeJax round out my group...the back 3 have all had some decent weeks for me.

TE: Carlson, B.Miller, and G.Olsen round out a very blah trio at TE.

PK: M.Bryant-Bye, N.Rackers...hasn't done nothing but maybe AZ can stall out at the 25 every drive next week.

Def/ST: Tampa Bay-Bye, Philly and New England...neither has great match ups

I need my 2 RBs for once to carry me thru a week.

With FWP out this week, this could get very interesting given that MOP is only up 3 games on Clayton for the final spot. LT and Buckhalter are the only RB playing for him this week.
