Since I know you won't see this in the news:

While national news media continue to focus on race in Ferguson, Missouri, where a white police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager, they apparently don’t think a similar case in Utah with the races reversed is that newsworthy.

Police in Salt Lake City are continuing their probe into an Aug. 11 shooting outside a 7-Eleven convenience store, when a black police officer, whom local media are referring to as “not white,” shot and killed 20-year-old Dillon Taylor, who was unarmed at the time, according to his supporters.

Police Chief Chris Burbank said the entire incident was captured on the body camera of the officer who shot Taylor.

So tell me again just why this isn't plastered all over your TV set?

Because it's a black cop and we all know they'll throw his ### in jail if warranted? Because the cop was wearing a body camera so we will get some good evidence either way? Because the white folks think he's a thug and don't care? I mean he had a criminal record and outstanding warrants so shooting him is all good right?

 
That's awful. Hate to see an innocent person get killed but I didn't know this guy so in general I don't care. As for the media not covering it, I'm not surprised and again, don't care.

Because white people don't have to fear the police as a general rule in this country. If they follow the rules, they are left alone. Black people, on the other hand, are targeted by police and forced to suffer indignities whether they follow the rules or not.

And I suspect you already know this, which is why your entire question (and posting of this incident) is simply a weak attempt to either deny or justify racism on the part of the police.

Did you mention he was wanted on felony charges? I mean on Fox they tell me that means he had it coming. Why do you support thugs?

 
Because white people don't face the same scrutiny as black people from police. This Furguson nonsense is misguided, but is it really that hard to understand the frustration and resentment black people feel towards the police?

Think about it, according to Wikipedia, a black male born in 1991 has a 29% chance of spending time in prison at some point in his life. So if you were a part of the 71% of black males who aren't criminals but were still routinely pulled over, questioned and harassed, you would hate cops too.

Very well put. I disagree with you on Ferguson (I think), but I admire your willingness to accept this, when so many conservatives refuse to acknowledge it at all.

 
Its the same reason the cop who shot an unarmed black guy just before the Ferguson story blew up didn't become plastered all over your TV

So the guy was a thug. The guy in Missouri was a gang member. What's the difference? Personally I think the cops were justified in both cases. I just think both deserve the same attention.
