The man in 119 takes his tea all aloneI love to listen to the 10,000 Maniacs album "In My Tribe" oftenI was just reminded of how much I really do like These Are Days by 10k Maniacs. One of my favorite 80's albums ... winner from start to finish. Best work Natalie
ever did, and their finest hour, for sure
"Don't Talk", "Hey Jack Kerouac" and "The Painted Desert" all belong up in this discussion.

You don't like Hourglass?Squeeze remains way under appreciated. Most think of Tempted as a hit, it really wasn't. Here are a couple that should be recognized.
Tempted

Is That Love

Another less loved band - The Stranglers. They had some great edgy stuff and they also had some good pop
Strange Little Girl

Sting - If I Ever Lose My Faith In You (goosebumps kind of song)

Todd Rundgren - how this stuff flies under the radar for most for over 40 years is a crime. Here is a couple off of the Nearly Human album made in '89.

Love it!! Black Coffee in Bed, Annie Get Your Gun, Goodbye Girl, If I Didn't Love You, etc - The Squeeze Singles album/cd is a must-have in any collection.
Had a friend growing up whose father was a big classical music guy. He had a wall of CDs (which was a big deal in the late 80s/early 90s) and when we would go over to play Diplomacy or Axis & Allies he would play music with composers from the various countries whose turn it was and things like that.Squeeze remains way under appreciated. It's my number 1 programmed station my manJB, if you have Sirius/XM, check out The Groove on channel 50. They just keep comin with strong old-school R&B 24/7. It's hard to change the channel.
Also in the Two Cathedrals episode of West Wing. Haec credam a deo pio? A deo iusto, a deo scito? Cruciatus in crucem. Tuus in terra servus, nuntius fui. Officium perfeci. Cruciatus in crucem. Eas in crucem. You'll get Hoynes.packersfan said:My apologies if this was already mentioned but I'll go with "Brothers in Arms" by Dire Straits. Title track to their most successful album and yet the song itself is hardly ever played. It also was the closing song on one of the best ever episodes of "Miami Vice."
Fits in 2 categories. This one, and great cover songs!Hazy Shade of Winter - The Bangles
Yeah, I posted it in that thread too. I don't know where my obsession with that song comes from, I must of had a thing for Susanna Hoff's back in the day.Fits in 2 categories. This one, and great cover songs!Hazy Shade of Winter - The Bangles

In the running for my favorite 80s song.Heard this on SiriusXM this morning - hardly obscure, but always thought it had a great hook/groove.
Has there been a worse move in music history for an up-and-coming band than Bow Wow Wow giving Annabelle the boot?Bow Wow Wow - Do You Wanna Hold Me?
Everyone knows "I Want Candy", but I thought this other tune was far superior.
