Devil's Advocate
Why?

A Baltimore @ Pittsburgh AFC Championship game would be as close to Must-See-TV as Must-See-TV gets.

Two division rivals who HATE each other... two phenomenal defenses... most likely nasty weather. It'll be Frazier/Ali.

Could be a 6-3 game, yet it would be the prettiest thing ever.

This would be beautiful. It's actually a shame the NYG/PHI game is this weekend, because that would be a nice conf. championship game as well for many of the same reasons :goodposting:

Many assumed the Steelers/Titans week 16 game was going to be low scoring too.

It would be a great AFC Championship game, but so would Pitt/Ten. Basically, you just can't cheer for the Chargers.

I want to see my Titans play Baltimore, Pittsburgh, then the NY football Giants. Four of the top defenses this year.

I don't remember there being a tougher stretch in the playoffs, ever.

I think the bias towards a Ravens/Steelers matchup vs a Titans/Steelers matchup is based on a belief, not saying I agree or disagree, with the idea that the Ravens have more recent playoff experience.

There are other wildcard factors like Collins vs Flacco, but ultimately the Titans and Ravens are very similar teams.

Personally I like the Ravens vs the Titans for basically this reason as well as uncertainty over Haynesworth's knee, KVB's groin, Muwai's elbow, etc.

Also, I think Ray can smell the end of the road, and (if its even possible) is going to be more amped and focused than ever before. The Ravens are probably the most emotional as a playoff team, and I see them rising to the occasion.

Only to then lose to the Steelers, who have one of the best QBs in the league, as opposed to Collins or Flacco who, at this point in their careers, are just OK.

With how the last meeting between Pitt and Balt ended, I'm hoping they end up playing for the AFC Championship. I'll be pulling for both of them this weekend.

:lmao: I can BARELY wait for next week..... should be a bloodbath.
It's just too bad Polamalu and Ray won't be on the field at the same time. :goodposting:
Thats about the 10th time Ive heard the term bloodbath (here, ESPN, the family, etc) and I agree. Should be awesome. If theres one player on defense not on Pitt that I do respect, it would be R Lewis.

I'm a bit burned out on Ravens-Steelers myself. They've been going at it for years. I have to admit, the game I was least interested in was Giants-Eagles, just because we see that matchup all the time too. I want to see Ravens-Steelers as much as Colts-Patriots. Not at all. Fresh blood! Fresh blood!

I'm most interested in seeing the Cardinals. Warner to Fitz is new and exciting.

I think the bias towards a Ravens/Stelers matchup is more about them being bitter divisional rivals than anything else.

I think Ravens-Steelers has to be in the Top 3or 5 of all NFL rivalries over the last decade. Yes, Redskins-Cowboys and Packers-Bears are great historic rivalries. And this decade, Colts-Patriots has become a huge rivalry with so much on the line every time they play.

But when it comes down to 2 teams that really don't like each other and play every game vs. each other like it's a war, I can't think of a better rivalry right now than this one.
