Unsettled WR situations (1 Viewer)

I've got my first real draft of the year coming up later tonight. One of the things I always like to do is to look around the league at teams with unsettled WR situations and try to figure out who, if anyone, will emerge from the pack. There are definitely some teams that could produce a "surprise" top 20 WR this year. Who do you like in these situations and why?

Cincinnati - Green, Simpson, Caldwell

Jacksonville - Thomas, Dillard, Underwood, Shorts, Binns

St. Louis - Sims-Walker, Alexander, Clayton, Salas, Pettis

Oakland - Murphy, Ford, Schilens, Heyward-Bey

Chicago - Knox, Williams, Bennett, Hester

New Orleans #2 - Moore, Meachem, Arrington

Moore is a rookie receiver and will probably top out at maybe 600 yards and a few tds (which isn't bad), but I think he'll need a couple years.

Cincinnati - Green, Simpson, Caldwell
Green is the only player draftable unless you're in a deep league.
Jacksonville - Thomas, Dillard, Underwood, Shorts, Binns
I like Thomas this year.
St. Louis - Sims-Walker, Alexander, Clayton, Salas, Pettis
MSW and Alexander have the most upside so I've been taking fliers on them in deep drafts. Amendola is a good PPR option.
Oakland - Murphy, Ford, Schilens, Heyward-Bey
I'm down on the entire offense...but if you are forced to draft a Raider I'd go Moore or Ford.
Chicago - Knox, Williams, Bennett, Hester
Not drafting any Bears.
New Orleans #2 - Moore, Meachem, Arrington
Meachem and Moore are both excellent value IMHO.

1) Part of the answer depends on whether we are talking PPR or not....2) You seem to have left off interesting receivers on these teams.....Shipley in CIN; Amendola in STLThe one easiest to answer is Oakland - avoid them alla) they have Jason Campbell throwing to ....err trying to throw to themb) Murphy, Ford, Schilens are all hurt and DHB is challengedc) If I was going to take a chance on one there it would be Moore

Cinci: I would avoid this like the plague but I would NOT take the rookie as I think you will have to overpay and there is at least as good a chance that one of the three young vets there could emerge as the go to guy in 2011. I would bet on Simpson but I wouldn't want to take him too high either.Jax: Again, run and void. Probably Thomas since he is a returning starter.St. Louis: Potential windfall here if you can win the lottery. If Clayton appears healthy, he would be first bet. Otherwise, Sims-Walker. It's going to be a tough year for rookie WRs with so little off season practice.Oakland: I don't like this situation at all either as they have no QB and I think they will run a ton. But if I had to pick I would say Murphy. Schilens is always hurt. DHB sucks. And Ford is being over drafted based on a few big games. Actually, I would draft Moore if anyone as he has the most upside.Chicago: Williams. He has done it before in that offense, so why not now?NO: Moore is the safest bet but Meachem could surprise if there is an injury to someone else.

Funny all these posts and people are leaving off the actual starter in StL which is Gibson right now. Not only that, but he's actually the cheapest one out of MSW, DX, and the rookies.

Cinci-no one with Dalton the QB. With Gradkowski...Green has just as good a chance as anyone, Grad has worked with young WRs his entire career.Jax-Upside for the WR1 is about 800/6-7TD tops, gl. St Louis-MSW eventually but you are overlooking a couple guys hereOak-You need to write down the name Moore...lot of injuries and guys like DHB on the roster. Chi-Hester by all reports New Orleans Lance Moore is your ticket for weekly consistency this year.

I get what you're saying, but, in fairness, wouldn't you have said the same thing about Buffalo last year?
Possibly but they had a coaching change, same ole regime in Jax. I might be off or wrong but I am not impressed with what they have there.
You're probably not wrong -- was just playing devil's advocate. Still, you never know, a healthy MJD opens up the passing game but maybe Lewis is the biggest beneficiary rather than a WR.

I like both Bennett & Lance Moore as solid picks. They both have earned a starting spot.

Bennett is my sleeper as offering solid value for a late pick compared to his ADP.
