**UPDATED** Mock from Scott Wright 3/22 (1 Viewer)

I admire his passion, but question his knowledge. I took a look at this mock yesterday and wasn't impressed.

11. SAN FRANCISCO 49'ERSPATRICK WILLIS ILB | Ole Miss | Scouting ReportYou have to give Mike Nolan and this franchise a ton of credit because in just a couple of years they've improved the Niners overall talent level by leaps and bounds and really seem to be on the right path. With that said there is still work to be done and Patrick Willis is exactly the type of player this franchise is looking for. A fantastic athlete who was as productive of a linebacker as you will find at the college level, Willis was coached by Mike Singletary and the Niners staff at the Senior Bowl so you can bet they know exactly what he will bring to the table in terms of not only his physical ability but also intangibles such as work ethic and leadership as well. Adam Carriker could be an option and he'd be the impact defensive lineman they are yearning for and Ted Ginn, Jr. or even Dwayne Bowe would make some sense as well after the release of Antonio Bryant. However, Willis is the type of guy who can be the heart and soul of a young defense like San Francisco's and if they don't take him he probably won't get past both Buffalo and Carolina.

It's very nice for a free site, but I question some of his rankings.
@massraider: Yes, I agree, but keep in mind that's just what they are. Rankings. No more right or wrong than anyone elses'.@EBF: Also have to agree here, and its quite sad. The reason being is that NFLDC is, at its root a free site which is a very noble gesture by Scott, but ultimately leads to its downfall. Scott must rely on user traffic (ads, etc.) to support the site and ultimately must play to the consumer. More often than not, Scott suppresses his own opinions to keep homers from criticizing and leaving. That all said, I have to say I am not very pleased with this mock. Gripes include:--I can't see the Vikings taking a safety over a DE. Udeze was ineffective and who knows what Erasmus James is capable of. Either Gaines Adams or Jamaal Anderson will be staring them in the face at that pick, and its hard to pass up on two fantastic pass-rushers. If Anderson and Adams are off the board, the Falcons will probably go with Landry-- I also don't see the Texans going with an OT in round one, especially a massive guy like Levi Brown. Can you justify vesting a 1st rounder on an Offensive Linemen in the ZBS? I don't believe so, especially with a guy sized like Levi Brown is. Better athletes, such as Joe Staley, would be better fits and could be had atop round 2. But the position needs to be addressed. Jordan Black aka 'Highway 65' is a joke of an LT. Secondary should be addressed in the 1st round..and they have their pick between Reggie Nelson or any CB of their choosing. --I like Pat Willis to the Niners. --Olson seems too high. Too much stock is being put on the combine alone and not on his play at Miami where he was spotty at times, prone to drops and had a generally bad attitude. He simply did not live up to his billing coming out of High School and really didn't build on his junior year. I'd go Reggie Nelson (with Pat Willis unavailable) --While Jon Beason certainly is not a bad pick for the Bengals, I think their secondary seems to be the more deficient area. I'd go Darrelle Revis here and lock up the two CB slots for the foreseeable future. Besides, if they were to go LB, I think Timmons is the more natural Pass-rusher and might be the better fit for WLB. --Chris Houston should go higher than he is. He should be the 2nd or 3rd CB off the board. Game tape on him is fantastic. --I like Leonard to fill Dillon's role but I think I'd grab a Corner if one fell at this spot. --I don't like Joe Staley to the Ravens. I don't think he has the size to take over Pashos' RT position and might be too much of an uncertainty to be drafted with a clear-cut position in mind. I think Justin Blaylock is a better pick as he has the bulk and strength to run behind. And thats just the 1st round..... :yucky:

He'll keep updating 'till the draft, and if you print out a few, I'd bet he comes closer to the actual draft (trades excluded) than most out there. I've been reading this for a couple years, and am fairly impressed. What we, as fans, think our team should do isn't always the right thing to do. We don't have all the inside scoop as to when players are due their big bonuses that get them released or what their relationships are with the personnel off the field. We see a hole and want to fill it, but there is much more going on that this guy seems to be a little more in tune with. He should be getting paid 2X what Kiper is.

Mocks really only serve one good purpose in my opinion, and that is to get discussions going. It looks like his Mock has done that. I been using his site for the last few years as well, and I do think he steps out more from the norm than some others out there, which makes for good discussions. Example is BRIAN LEONARD to the Pats at #28. Many Pats fans do not think this would happen, and yet, it is the type of player the Pats would go for, and since they do not have a second round pick, would have to get him at that spot. I would like to see him put in some trades. I think sometimes he puts the player that he thinks the team will end up with based on if they trade. I think the Bucs end up with CJ, but trade up to get him...Arizona definitely wants Joe Thomas, but might need to trade up to get him as well.Personally I would love to see some sort of scoring system that we could use to give some of these mock drafts a grade...let see who really is on target and who is not. :P

I think he might be right in Brian Leonard going to the Pats but not at 28. The Pats would make every effort to trade down in that scenario. Either get a high 2nd and a 3rd or a mid 2nd and a 1st next year.

After signing Draft, I think it's a mortal lock that Okoye goes to the Rams at 13 if he's there. Nice to see this guy agree with me.

The Vikings had a terrible pass defense, but it was the lack of a pass rush that was the biggest problem. I like Landry but he's not going to have much effect on the defense if they can't get to the QB.

As for the Jets, its hard to argue the first pick. But then are we really going to take D-line with our next THREE picks? highly doubtful. We have signed a few decent FA D-linemen already.

If the jets dont come out of 2nd round with either a Guard or RT prospect, im gonna be very disapointed.
