I know the guy dances to the beat of a different drum, but what in the living ****?

You are up 4-0 on aggregate, and an out of bounds call at midfield should never cause what happened.

I think we missed Weston here. I think Weston would have picked him up and carried him across the field after he punted the ball.

Just completely and totally unacceptable.
 
I assume you guys talked about the field already. But both teams have to deal with it, so...

Ok. **** dest.

I mentioned Aaronson.. great quick moves and then repeatedly, consistently dumped easily off the ball. Over and over. Before Dest, I was raging at him.

Balo.. 2nd game where he's getting owned by USL level defenders. The balls coming in to him, but he can't win , hold or do anything with it 8f he gets it. Looks so uncomfortable on that field... Get used to it, buttercup- concacaf.

Pepis playing, right?
 
I am going to risk some hyperbole and call this the dumbest red card I have ever seen in my life. I just can't figure out how some one could get so triggered over something so meaningless when advancement was completely in hand.

Dest has me so flustered I can't think straight but everything else you said I agree with 100%
 
Yeah, where's pepi? Non-existant in 1st half.

Would've rather seen gio stay maybe 15 minutes into 2nd.

Field sucks. Yes both teams have to deal with it but it's been kinda fun watch t&t struggle with footing as much as the US. But at what point does that field turn a normal tackle into an ankle breaker...
 
1. Ream is going to get overrun in the 2nd half.
2. Don't care what anyone else on this team has done off the field, Dest's behavior on the field is more of a liability so at the least I want to see him 'punished' more than McKennie was for violating curfew.
3. Still say we need a CONCACAF-specific group of players--thick-skinned, able to grind out results and maybe a little practiced in the dark arts. The ship has now definitely sailed on Kellyn Acosta, but he is built to thrive in games like this and it would have been a great send-off.
4. Didn't like the way they killed off the end of the 1st half, passing back with T&T players pushed forward. They were asking for another bad giveaway leading to another breakaway goal.

Does this game mean anything in regards to qualifying for World Cup or Olympics or anything?

no to those two.

It does have meaning for Copa America qualifying as well as advancing in the Nations League tournament (this is the quarter finals). All the winners of the quarter finals qualify for next summers Copa America.

I’ve already changed my mind thinking about it, reading others here and seeing the halftime show. He could be done with the national team and honestly it wouldn’t bother me at all.

I could almost (almost) forgive the incredibly dumb punt of the ball because he saw red for what ever reason but to then follow it up with likely what ever non stop stupid things he said just kills me.

I have been watching the team since the 80s, probably seen 99% of the games or more. I have never seen US teammates yell at a player like that. What he did must have been so over the top we could not believe it.
 
Getting past the ****ing destness of it..

Down a man shouldn't really matter here. Keep your defensive and MF shape and play 1 up top.

Problem is, without gio, theres only LDLT to unlock things. I'm still flummoxed that Pepi or Balo didn't come off for Scally.

He had to have called the ref something pretty terrible. Ream was livid about it, knowing the second yellow was coming immediately.

I don't mind the ball kick that much. Hell, I like players with a bit of fire and I can understand frustration. The ball kick showed the ref your frustration already though. At that point you have to be a professional, let your captain point out to the ref that he's missed 3 or 4 calls against Dest and do his job as captain.

I suspect Gregg will let him know how much his attitude will have to change if he wants back into the squad and hopefully he's smart enough to apologize profusely tonight... Scally is a drop off, but not a HUGE dropoff, especially if Dest can't keep his cool.
 
And again... There's no reason for the US to be overrun like this.

Need some defensive shape, put in a tweener attacking player in Tillman.

Wtf. Now we're getting into this falling on GGG
 
T&T have been very dangerous on the counter tonight. If they find another in the next 10-15, the end of this game is going to suck balls.

I still can't get past the fact that what he snapped on was literally the most unimportant call in a soccer game possible...
