In all honesty, so long as Pulisic avoids Mourinho, I'm happy.
I would have loved to see him stay and become a BvB legend. But I know that's not really how it works there, unfortunately.Serious question:..where should he have gone?
I can name two - Andy Moeller and Matthias Sammer. Although they probably hate sammer now after what he did to bvb while at Bayern. So really just moeller.I would have loved to see him stay and become a BvB legend. But I know that's not really how it works there, unfortunately.
From a US "longterm" point of view, I hate it. Chelsea are "known" for two things: Changing managers and loaning out players. The PL is a big step up from the Bundesliga in terms of the physicality. Naby Keita is 23 and tore up the Bundesliga and he's had some real struggles adapting.Serious question:..where should he have gone?
Sarri-ball seems to be quite Mourinho-ish...if not in terms of style, in terms of results. In all honesty, so long as Pulisic avoids Mourinho, I'm happy.
they've been inconsistent from what I've watched, so it's hard for me to gauge. but in that time, they've been capable and open to letting 'er rip... something jose never seemed happy to do. considering Kante is playing wide- and getting involved in attack- I don't see why a better attacking option like CP would suffer here. (and hopefully push Kante back into the middle)Sarri-ball seems to be quite Mourinho-ish...if not in terms of style, in terms of results.
Perhaps its a good think then that Sarri will probably be long gone before CP joins the team?Sarri-ball seems to be quite Mourinho-ish...if not in terms of style, in terms of results.
I think it says a lot about Sarri that he has the best midfield destroyer in world football and he's trying to get him involved in the attack.they've been inconsistent from what I've watched, so it's hard for me to gauge. but in that time, they've been capable and open to letting 'er rip... something jose never seemed happy to do. considering Kante is playing wide- and getting involved in attack- I don't see why a better attacking option like CP would suffer here. De Laurentiis...what a peach. It is cringe worthy how some knuckle heads (including some that should know better) are twisting his broken English. Look at what his chairman from Napoli said. This is just how Sarri works.
=========================================
“I used to say to Sarri, who shall we buy? He’d reply that he didn’t want to know anything about it.”
Those are the words of Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis, speaking last month about Napoli’s former manager, Maurizio Sarri.
I think it says a lot about you, Il Maestro.I think it says a lot about Sarri that he has the best midfield destroyer in world football and he's trying to get him involved in the attack.
I hate it. But I get the sense he's enamored with jorginho, and knows he has to have Kante on the field because he's too good not to. It may just be that he doesn't have all the parts to his puzzle yet and CP may be an integral component.I think it says a lot about Sarri that he has the best midfield destroyer in world football and he's trying to get him involved in the attack.
Chelsea are also known for spending big and winning titles. From a US "longterm" point of view, I hate it. Chelsea are "known" for two things: Changing managers and loaning out players. The PL is a big step up from the Bundesliga in terms of the physicality. Naby Keita is 23 and tore up the Bundesliga and he's had some real struggles adapting.
So I'd rather he goes to a team that is going to be patient with him and let him learn. Tottenham, Arsenal, even Manchester United! City and Pool are probably too loaded up top for him to make an impact, but the coaching he'd get at either place would be second to none.
What do you think were the most important things to him? If I were to guess, I would say he wanted to join a top club that would pay him a ton and give him a platform to become a superstar.
with all this CP talk, I had forgotten about Adams moving over there. I hope he settles in quickly and can find PT.Adams had his first full training session with Leizpig. Hopefully there will be some friendlies over the break for him to get his feet wet.

No Carleton or Gosslin. Wonder if they were held back due the CCL starting in mid-Feb or not invited?US U20 roster for the January camp.
Good to see Tatigue, Durkin and Ferreira all present. Looks like Sargent was not called in.

Frank Lampard on Duane Holmes: “I like Duane, I watched him a lot before we brought him here...he’s so natural, he’s quick, good on the ball, techincal & a really important player in this squad”
he looked really composed when he played for the U20's in qualifying.

agreed.
I'm not sure if I should be celebrating the goal, or the fact that we're hearing about goals scored during 6v6 drills in practice in Germany.NewlyRetired said:looks like Adams is showing well in early training

Word on Tyler Adams in his 2nd day of training.. "During the 6v6, Adams repeatedly called for the ball and showed what his coach called an 'incredible sense of the situation'. From the start, he was convincing. He even got his first goal - a precise low shot from the middle."
Houston Texans Soccer ClubThis good story on Chris Richards contained an interesting piece. It is something that I bet does not happen enough in US Soccer but good on Quill (who was Richards coach at the Houston Texans) for making the call especially knowing that FC Dallas had already rejected Richards.

That led Quill to approach FC Dallas academy director Luchi Gonzalez with the selfless offer of sending Richards and midfielder Christian Cappis to FC Dallas.
“Them coming back to [the Texans] would have been fine, but if they were going to really go somewhere in the game then time was of the essence and I wanted them to move on,” Quill said. “I told FC Dallas, ‘I’ve got these two players who are going to be pros at the highest level. I think you guys should take a look at them.’”
he was talking about his girlfriend from the US who has German ancestry but does not speak German.Daaaaaamn kid....hooking up with you the locals already?
