Best case scenario: US wins by any margin, T&T wins by any margin and the US is through to the hex*

Worst case scenario: US loses, T&T and Guat draw, and the US no longer has its fate in its own hands come the last game against Guat.  The US would likely still hold a significant GD advantage over Guat but Guat would be playing St. Vincent at home in which it would be expected they would pout it on.

All other scenario's: Any other combination of results and at worst the US would always hold its own destiny against T&T.

*Of the 5 previous cycles, the US advanced with a game to go in 3 of them.  1998, 2002, and 2010.

I should have noted that since the hex is early this cycle, the draw is already complete and as such where the US finishes in this group will affect the start of the hex.

If the US comes in first in the group, it draws the tough of start of Mexico at home, followed by Costa Rica(likely) away in November.

if you use a stream make sure you follow the link I provided earlier.  That sub reddit channel comes up with fairly decent looking streams for a lot of different games.

Does you cable company not have it at all, or are you being a cheap ###? Just skip one IPA a month and you'll save your precious few dollars.

I'm sure I can get it as part of the extra sports packages but I don't get it on my basic cable.  I get like 600 channels including like 50 sports channels and no BeIN.

I was the same. I've done this buy-in for BeIN before for US games, and then just cancel it. la liga sucks anyways.

 
I had Bein until I moved.  Turns out my "move coordinator" with Comcast changed all kinds of crap with my programming.  I hate them.  With that said, Bein was still SD on Comcast in DC when I moved, so I rarely watched it.  Even for Classicos, I'd just find a bar.  I had also long ago passed the "RAY HUDSON IS AWESOME/OH MY GOD RAY HUDSON SHUT UP!" line.

 
OK, let's try to get our preferred XIs out there.  Guzan, Becks and Jozy are confirmed.  I think a 4-4-2 diamond is a safe bet.  I'll put my preferred choice in but put guys I think Jurgen might well go with in parentheses.

nailed it/combinations of it.

nice to see that back line- woke up feeling nervous, but that back line has a lot of good experience... barring crazy mud/field mishaps, I don't see them gifting any goals. StV will have to earn them.

that said- Beckerman against quick caribbean guys is usually rough and a yellow waiting to happen. Is there anybody else on the roster to play the DM? Bedoya? (eta: oh right... mouthy... acosta)

I'd love to see Sacha get some time. I really like what he's been doing wtih the RBs, often time drifting out wide. I woudn't mind any combo of those MFs in front of Beckerman. 

and yeah- Wood and Jozy. I feel like when they've partnered it hasn't looked too good- again, crap memory and all- but IIRC, there wasn't any real partnering... just two guys running around independent of the other.

I do love the 'stache.  And he's probably the best pure #10 in this camp (and frankly in the Nats playing pool).  We'll see if Klinsmann immediately hands him a start.  But I also think it's probably time for Pulisic to get a bit more responsibility and there's something to be said for just throwing three athletes and finishers up top and overwhelming a minnow.  Particularly if you back them up with high workrate, safe possession players behind.

When Messi scored last night against Uruguay, I honestly thought for a moment that Ray had died. An abruptly halted scream, a few seconds of drooling gibberish and then a momentary silence. It was kinda awesome, though.

They seem to be an odd pair.

Wood has that "shoot first, shoot second, shoot third, crap I guess I have to pass" striker selfishness to him which we haven't really had since probably Wynalda(?)...

Jozy does not have that gene but he is also the furthest thing from a playmaker.

On a more positive note, they have not played together since 2015 and Wood has improved significantly since then.  Couple that with Jozy playing some of the best ball of his career these last few weeks and maybe they can work out.  It should be no issue either way hopefully today.  This is more of a concern for the hex.

 
McKinze Gaines apparently got on for the last 10 minutes of Wolfsburg's friendly today and created two nice chances for Mario Gomez.  Unfortunately, Mario was unable to push Der Mario Gomez Button on either chance. 

 
I have a feeling this game is going to be an eye strain.  Sometimes at these cricket fields the camera's are set way back from the field.

Last night I reminded the kids that the USMNT was playing.  My 7yr old's response..... :excited: "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 6-1 yesssssssss" :excited:

On NR's recommendation, I subscribed to Playstation Vue about a month ago and get NBCsports, ESPN and BeIn all for about $35 per month, plus a ton of other channels I never watch. I stream it through an Amazon Fire. I think that just about covers any football I'd ever want to watch. So far, I think its the best option for a cord-cutter football fan. One nice bonus is it gives me access to NBC Sports Live, so I can legal stream EPL games live or delayed.

I believe you also get Fox Sports1 which shows US games (along with Bundesliga, UCL and MLS).  FS1 is carrying the T&T game on Tuesday
