US Men's National Team (10 Viewers)

The rumors about Sterling going to Chelsea are pretty strong. Seems like bad news for Pulisic and the other Chelsea wingers. Ziyech is probably on his way out, but that doesn’t help CP much in terms of minutes or starts. Then again, maybe a super sub role with a start every few games at a top club is a pretty good situation for him.

GGG talking about players who might be moving too early from MLS

=====

"It's a really simple answer," he says. "You go to the highest level you can until you're not challenged anymore. And then you go to the next level. If you keep doing that, you're going to be OK. The issue becomes when you're still challenged at one level and you go to a higher level, then there's going to be problems."

He adds: "I think it's important to note this with some recent transfers from MLS ... they came too early. Think about Bryan Reynolds, who went to Roma [and made just one appearance, before being loaned out to two different Belgian clubs]. Or George Bello [who moved from Atlanta United to Arminia Bielefeld in January and was relegated to the German second tier], there's an argument to be made that he could have stayed in MLS and dominated the league and then moved. So there's a number of guys who I'm concerned are leaving too early.

"MLS is an opportunity for young players to be on the field. And that's valuable. And when they're dominant, when MLS is no longer a challenge, then they can move on. It's no different than Europe. If you're in France and you're killing the French league, you move to the Premier League. It's normal, like a food chain, right?"

I have resigned myself to realize Chelsea is always going to have 4 top wingers.

Pulisic will get his chances because Tuchel does not allow anyone to play through a rough patch.

Why is Mexico getting a November game?  I don't remember the US scheduling anything for that time?  Is that a non window?

Mexico announces friendlies for Sept window ahead of World Cup: Sept 24 vs Peru at Rose Bowl Sept 27 vs Colombia at Levi’s Stadium (Santa Clara) Also, Nov 16 vs Sweden in Girona, Spain

[Patrick Berger]: #BVB - Christian Pulisic is not a topic at Borussia Dortmund. An early departure of the 23-year-old winger from Chelsea (under contract until 2024) is not unrealistic but he won’t got back to @BVB this summer. Too expensive (salary, fee)

Pulisic's name is popping up every where in rumors

Chelsea value De Ligt €100mil and want to include Werner and Pulišić in their offer. Juventus are asking for the €120mil clause

Yeah, seems like they dont anything resembling a decent first choice keeper. He should walk right into the lineup.

Kudos to City for allowing this. They obviously didn't have to.

Obviously Turner would be the guy if we were playing a game tomorrow. But if Zack plays well for 3 months to start the season and Turner is only playing Cup games at Arsenal, its a competition again.

I dont' think we should discount Johnson, who has been playing very well for NYC and has GGG's trust.

got to start some where

1st preseason game and Ricardo Pepi scores for Augsburg for a 1-0 lead on TSV Schwaben Augsburg in the 33rd minute

US really needs to finish some of these, great saves or not. They're much better than this CR team, but letting them stay in sniffing distance is playing with fire.

Not the first time I've seen Caden stand and wait for the ball to come to him, getting pipped by defenders each time
he's been disappointing in all the games I've seen him this tourney. Today there is a lack of cohesion on that side as well.

I know the take on him is he is still finding his position but I'm more worried that for all the skill, he just lacks one.

overall good half and seems to match most of what we have seen of this team so far in creating tons of chances.  Really should be 2-0 at least at half.  I hate seeing games like this because you know they can flip on one trip up the field from CR.

CR keeper seems to channeling Navas.....

I agree.  He does not appear to be the same quality player he was before his injury.  He was so good, even good enough to lure RBS into signing him, but ever since he got injured he has not in any way been a dominant player in MLS, and neither has he here in the qualifiers.
