USB MOVIE on TV? HOW? (1 Viewer)

SHIZNITTTT

Footballguy
So a buddy gave me a few movies on a USB. How do I watch these movies on my tv? DO I have to download software onto my tv? Step by step like I am 6. Thanks

You need a streaming device. Roku, wdtv, etc. Or laptop with chromecast to your tv. Something like this to read the video files on the usb

Your blu ray player might be able to handle it.

Just chevk if it has a usb input and put the stick in. You should then be able to access the files on the disc via your blu ray menu.

You can do this on game consoles as well like PS3.

Was going to say blu ray - most have a usb port.

A lot of TV's can play it off a stick, but I highly recommend getting a WDTV Live.
It depends on the file format. IIRC .iso can be played on tvs, most other formats need a media player in the middle
I would think iso would be a no-go. MP4 and AVI are the ones I'd think a TV could handle. MKV would be a stretch. There aren't many other widely used formats anymore beyond those 3. DIVX has pretty much gone away by now.

play it on your computer, run an HDMI cable from your computer to your TV (or monitor)

should be able to see it that way
