Used up EVERY WW Dollar on Caddy (1 Viewer)

With me having depth at all positions i figured i might as well guarantee myself the best WW player likely to be there all year. Cant see anyone on WW with as high a ceiling as Caddy has.

had Ryan as a backup QB, had nice WR as backups as well. Now i got solid depth at RB.

Why not break bank now for a player like Caddy instead of saving it up to snag an Edge James later in year after he gets 2 TD's in one game

Another guy in my league spent all his bid dollars on Caddy (and I would have too). I didn't have priority because I won so my second choice was Burleson, and I bet the bank on him. I am happy with the depth on my team and I can pick up the odd defense or kicker for nothing. In my experience there are one or two elite players who emerge week 1 or 2 and you have to spend everything to get them. I remember one year it was Colston. One year it was Graham. I think Caddy and Burleson could both be top 20 players at their positions, maybe even top 15, this season.

I remember a couple years ago when a few people boasted of spending all their money on Marques Colston. And Anquan Boldin, too.

I committed 21% of my redraft BB dollars to a list of the five most promising WR sleepers and ended up with Murphy. That was probably too much, but this is my first season blind bidding with BB bucks vs. available salary cap. Didn't know how high to go, but I didn't want to miss out on the action.

Someone in our league won him with 17/100 waiver dollars. I don't want to bet on that knee holding up so didn't even try.

Best of luck with that.

Caddy is a "feel good" type story but I not only have doubts about his health but also that TB paid D Ward to essentially be his back up (of sorts). I love the kid and his work ethic but I think a lot of people get a Kevin Jonestype feeling about him.

More times than not, people end the year with bidding bucks never used. I maxed my entire allowance for Mike Bell and got him in 7 dynasty leagues. Might look like a great move down the road, might not. But i have learned it won't really kill my team either way.

With his injury history, I can't say that I think that is the smartest move......what happens later in the year when you need some players?

Obviously its a risk, but in past years i didnt get the Royals or Boldins and saved up only to use it on like a Fasano or middle of road player.Gonna hope i dont get more then 1 key injury and i think my team is fine.As is Caddy is my #5 RB right now with Turner, Deangelo, Benson, LJ on my team.RB depth never hurts though

Caddy was already gone, but I spent all but 5% of my WW $$ on Mike Bell. My RB's suck, and this is the week to pounce on opportunities, so . . .

I drafted him as a #4 RB and just got an offer of Reggie Bush, which i promptly turned down. We'll see though, very iffy offense in Tampa.

An owner in one of my leagues used 100% of his WW money on Caddy, same league a different owner used 100% on Mike Bell. I don't think it's a bad strategy because it could pay off huge -- I would much rather have Caddy than Mike Bell though.

can you trade players later if you run into a roadblock? That would seem the biggest obstacle to going 100% in, if there was no trading.

Way too much injury risk to bet it all on Caddy. Especially for a guy that will for sure split time (Derrick Ward is going nowhere).

I see no problem if you need a guy you feel you can plug in right away and get results from. I am no mathematician, but the way I think about it, in an average 12 team league where you have $100 in blind bid dollars, if every team were bid their max in consecutive weeks, everyone could bid $100 to get "their" player and that would take up 12 of the typically available 10-14 weeks of blind bidding (in most leagues).

Now, it never works out like that, but it should give you an idea how competitive it is to get someone in a position that Caddy Williams is in now (starting RB). Maybe 4-6 guys like this come up each year with such promise from the start (sure there are other random pickups that pan out, but most of your acquisitions of them is luck). To spend your wad on one of these guys is no less outlandish than picking up the Clowneys and Manninghams after a week of 4-43 for $15 of your spending dollars.

Unless your league has a history of leaving 20% of their blind bid dollars collectively on the table once the season ends, you may as well take a stab at someone that is in a good position to start for you for at least a few weeks.

Based on that list, I'd say he is your #3
