Which picher holds the all-time MLB record for most days spent on the disabled list over his career (not in a row, but cumulative days over a career) with over 1,000 days on the DL?

1000 games ... that's over 6 full seasons  It's someone with a long career ... probably really long, like 20 years.
Okay ... make that 17 seasons for Saberhagen. He did miss the full 1996 and 2000 seasons ... that's 324 games right there.

Bret Saberhagen
DING DING DING!!!I was a bit surprised to read that today. He spent 1,041 days on the DL (or something close to that, can't remember the exact number).
He missed:Half of 1990

A couple months in 1991

Half of 1992

Half of 1993

A third of 1994

A third of 1995

All of 1996

Almost all of 1997

Two months in 1999

All of 2000

Almost all of 2001

That's a 6 year span where he played about 2.5 seasons worth.
