Te- Vernon Davis had a couple stupid personal penalties ..... got chewed out big time by Mike Singletary ...

as the offense was on the field .. V.Davis was just sitting on the bench by himself... while the rest of the entire team was standing on the sideline.....

Singletary walked over to him on the bench and told him something .. and Davis then started walking to the clubhouse.... Singletary then yelled at home to take his helmet as well . and Davis turned around picked up his helmet and walked off the field ....

( and it was not a injury walk to the locker-room )

basically kicked off the field by the head coach ........

that sound you hear is any value he had .............

best part was when Davis started walking off the field away from Singletary .. and SIngletary told him to take his helmet and gloves and he turned around and had to grab them and then walk back off the field

All that talent...
you mean all those combine numbers....
led the ACC in receiving....he's no Mike Mamula:cry:
He lead the ACC in receiving as the threw the ball up down the middle and he jumped up and caught enough of them. He was labeled as a poor route runner and average hands in college. He ran fast in his underwear and his stock soared.Your right he is not Mike Mamula because it was Mamula lifting weights that moved him up, not running fast in his under wear.

KNBR Radio broadcasters Plummer and Starkey are saying that tight end Vernon Davis left the field on his own which contradicts television reports that Mike Singletary told him to leave.

Redman--Portis. :fish:

Those that have contracted VD better HOPE that he left due to Singletary sending him to the locker room. He prolly won't be a niner next year.

I was thinking next game.

Could've been that VD said "i might as well be in the lockerroom/or threatened that and Singleterry called him on it.

either way he has been taking up roster space long enough. The PHI game was just to tantalize us.

But it did look from the fee i watched (no sound) that he was sent to the showers by Samurai Mike.

Excellent post game rant by Singletary on NFL network. He did leave a little at the podium but he'll get better.

I would pay big $ to see him Buddy Ryan Martz ### into next week and beyond though.

Singletary said in his postgame rant that he told Davis the team would be better off if he went and took a shower and watched the rest of the game than if he were on the field.

I like Singletary.

It was more than his 40 time - he caught the ball like beast in workouts as well. I don't think you can call him a workout warrior when he had 52 catches in his 2nd year. He's not getting a fair chance this year thanks to Martz.

Punch Martz into next week (Buddy Ryan punching Gilbride, on the sidelines, back in the 90's) for stupid playcalling. When you don't have the horses, you have to adapt.Martz can't.
:) Who was the genius who thought Martz would be a good fit on a team where the second best offensive player is the TE?

And the years before that?Guy is a bust. Plenty of talent, but lousy hands and no heart. And lately he's been acting like TO minus any of the talent.

Didn't see today's game but have caught a few Niner games this year- Davis has blocked rrrrrrreal well. In fact at times I thought Walker going in meant Walker was going to get a pass. This might be Daniel Graham like. Graham was the top college te or award winning one or whichever coming out of college that year.

Two top ten picks under Nolan....Davis and Smith. No wonder he is out of work.
Smith was the backbreaker for the Niners. What a horrible, horrible pick. Hindsight is 20/20, but Aaron Rodgers was a local product who had a brilliant career at Cal. Rodgers to the Niners seemed like a very reasonable pick and was a favorite in early mocks. Instead we got a gimmicky system QB with all the playmaking skills of a rotten cadaver.

He didn't lead the ACC in receiving. Three guys had more receptions (including Chansi Stuckey and Deyon Williams), and Calvin Johnson as a sophomore had more yardage.

Sounds like Davis has found yet another place that the opposition just can not cover him.
Assume you refer to the shower room... If so, what makes you think he can hang on to the soap? Sorry, couldn't resist... Seriously, a great coahing move & a refreshing change!Edut 'fer spelun'

Rodgers would most likely be in the same situation if they had drafted him. He would have crashed and burned getting thrown into the fire the same way as Alex, although maybe not as specrapularly as Smith. As for Singletary's rant, that was a thing of beauty to this Niner fan.
