Value in NE RBs? (1 Viewer)

Is there any value in owning NE RBs? Maroney is on the WW in my league and I've got Morris on my bench. I looked up Maroney in the FBG players pages and it said "Opinion: He is a wuss," which after last year I'm very much inclined to agree with.

So who gets the carries? Does anyone in NE have any faith in Maroney? Or will it be Morris? What about Faulk? Or does NE just not have a running game?

His value may be inconsistent, but if Maroney is on waivers he should absolutely be picked up. I don't have a ton of faith, but there are surely worse players on your team(possibly Morris) that you could dump.

Heard Bill Cowher talk about the situation and he seems to think that this team can not run the ball. He believes that they built this team for Brady and they no longer have the power running attack, with the small TE's. They are built for passing and spreading the field but now they have nobody to deliver the ball.

 I would steer clear of anyone on that NE roster, including Moss..

They ran the ball well at the end of last year/playoffs with the same basic lineup/spread offense... The problem is that BB will use such a broad committee for different packages, that it downgrades all of them in terms of overall stats

Maroney has not shown the tough inside running ability that Morris has shown. With both of them often hampered by injury, there is not consistent Running Game Plan for NEP to develop and build around. I agree that the team was built for Brady and his passing style, not for the power running game.

IIRC, they ran well in the late season because Def Coord's had to keep extra help back to cover the pass thus opening the inside running lanes with 3 rushers and little LB support. Passing was still the preference, but they did bring in and sign Lamont Jordan for a reason. At first I thought it was because Kevin Faulk is getting up in years (33??) and they liked Jordan's skill set.

I like Jordan. He is hurt right now (or he was before the NE bye), but I don't see any NE RB getting more than 12-15 touches a game unless the score is heavy in their favor. And that just does not seem to be happening this year (so far anyway).

If Maroney is available on the waivers, he is worth a roster spot. If they start to run more, he will get first look and a majority of the carries. Morris will also get his share, so fantasy value is marginal until another injury separates them.

If BB does not Start to use 1 RB for most the game and alloow him to get into a rythm he's foolish.

I honestly think this is the only way they start playing better on the O side

It's blurbs like these that get people confused . . .

Laurence Maroney (shoulder) took part in practice again Thursday. The Pats are currently on a bye, but could return with a new emphasis on the run game when they visit San Francisco in Week 5. Maroney is the team's second most physically gifted skill player and could take on a bigger role.
I have not heard that there is a plan to emphasize the running game. And there is nothing to suggest Maroney will be taking on a bigger role. But people confuse pure speculation for fact these days . . .
