value rookies (1 Viewer)

Got a rookie and unkept veteran (also IDP) draft coming up. Also a salary cap league which is a major factor in who you get to keep. If you do it right, you can keep pretty much a starting roster, which is what I have done (I have LT2 and LJ, so I'm ready to get this season going!).

My question to you knowledgable fellows is this: What rookies have the best shot at getting a decent amount of playing time this year (of course Bush I know, but other than that) and maybe even score a few fantasy points? Scoring system is pretty much 'you name it, we score for it' on offense and defense...TDs, # of receptions, yardage, fumbles, interceptions, etc. it's all in there!

I could stand backups at pretty much any position (IDP positions in play are DL, LB, DB) . I can also consider a few slackers from last year (that would have a low salary this year) if you think they have a shot at something this year. Even if they might look good for 2007, I'd consider them as well.

T-I-A for the info!

has this already been covered? too vague? I searched and didn't find any topic like this. I have been through the rookie draft results thread several times, but I was looking more for some discussion.

I don't do IDP, so I can't tell you about defensive rookies, beyond the obvious (Williams, Hawk, etc.).

As for offensive rookies:

QB: Leinert will probably get work when Warner gets hurt, might take the job permanently. Young will start at some point too, I think. Clemmens with NYJ will likely see time, might even win the job.

RB: Bush, Addai, Maroney, Williams, and White are certain to get significant time

WR: I don't like the talent here, or the situations

TE: VD, Lewis, Pope

excellent info. Thanks! anybody else got any insight?

I agree that many of the players z-dog lists have upside if they get a break. Unfortunately, every one of those guys could get such limited touches they aren't viable starting options. I'm not too high on rookie impact this year. Hopefully I'm wrong because there does seem to be some talent, and I think this rookie class will be one of the better classes in dynasty format.
