This type of thing isn't my scene, but isn't European Bottle Service when you have your own little bar (complete with hot chick bartender) at your table? As opposed to regular bottle service, when they just bring you stuff as needed.
European is a dedicated server for your needs. She handles your table, and your table alone. There may be variations, but that's the main thing. Prices rise accordingly, because your tip has to make it worth her while. It's one of those things, "If you have to ask...", because it is for the truly flashy. Gets real expensive real quick. As to Jersey Tough Guy's question, bottle service isn't really necessary, as long as you don't mind dealing with the mess at the door of any club doing bottle service. Bottle service is mostly for groups of guys willing to pay a premium to get into a club, and it is certainly nice to have a base of operations. When pulling girls off the dance floor, it's nice to invite back to a tabel for a drink, as opposed to jockeying at the bar.If you can get in without buying a table, skip it. You will also have to deal with a $30 cover charge, which is skipped with bottle service. When talking about Tao, Pure, LAX, Tryst, and The Bank, I wouldn't go in without a table. There are places to go dancing as couples without having to deal with the pretension. But if you are set on a top club, a table is a legit option.

Anyone been to Blush or Lavo?

I have free line passes and drink vouchers. not a huge club guy, are these places over the top "club-ish" joints? (as someone else put it, how high on the "Hey look at me!" scale are these places?).

I went to Lavo w/ AF when I was out there a few weeks ago - I would recommend it, pretty low on the pretentious scale and decent talent - which I think is a good thing, unless you are into a snobbier atmosphere.

This is a good thing. Thanks again mang.

Going back over Halloween. Anyone been to CUT in the Palazzo?
what is CUT? staying @ Palazzo in 2 weeks.NM, I see it is a W. Puck steakhouse.
I've know one guy how has been. He said the food was off the charts but the service was very bad. The guy is kind of a prima donna so I don't know what to think.
I am a super novice when it comes to vegas, but I just figured there were better places when it came to steak. Not much info on the CUT. I booked SW and didn't even consider the Palazzo one. If I had the coin, or desire for steak multiple nights, it would be cool to put these places up against each other on a trip (or any other of the nicer steakhouses).

I've been to many of the Steakhouses in Vegas. SW is really good, one of my favorites.

Going on business/pleasure in mid January (the weekend between the Champ games and Superbowl) and we have it narrowed down to the Venetian and Bellagio. We'd like to stay down in that area of the strip since the convention is being held there. Seems like we can get in both for about $200/night, so is one that much better than the other?

No. I dig the Venetian more, a little bit younger and more happening in the casino than the Bellagio, but they are both nice.

The Venetian is owned by Las Vegas Sands, and yes, they are in serious financial trouble. All of the major corporations that own strip properties are hurting. Las Vegas Sands (LVS) was at a 52 week high of over $100. If they survive in these conditions, it might be a steal at $4. Check out the Venetian's sister property - the Palazzo. It might be cheaper and just as nice.

Now is a great time to go. Harrah's is offering 2 free nights at all of their Vegas properties except Ceasars.
Should be able to get a great deal from any Harrah's owned property right now. Harrah's is on the verge of declaring bankruptcy.
Any more online deals from anyone?
I got an email from NY-NY.if you visit them twice during the winter (Nov, Dec, Jan):$69 midweek and $89 weekend daily rate with a free park ave. room upgrade 20% off at 3 Favorite NY-NY Restaurants$25 promotional gaming chipoffer code:D8412A1

Going next weekend. Might be dead out there, but the price was right.
I was out there the week before thankgiving and it seemed pretty busy to me. They said its actually up over last year because the hotels are offering tons of deals to get people out there. #1 tourist destination this year vs #10 last year. About 1/2 the tourists there were foreigners.

I am going to be reserving a fair amount of rooms in the next few weeks for a formal that my fraternity is having in Vegas in April. What would be the best way to reserve the rooms? Doing it online or calling hotels directly and seeing what they can do for me?

We are thinking somewhere nicer like Paris, Caesars, or Venetian for the weekend. Other suggestions are welcome. Probably around 30-40 rooms total.

That many rooms you definitely want to go to the hotel directly. I shot you a PM if you want some help setting this up.

Wife and I are heading back to Vegas in October for our 20th anniversary. We're staying at the signature at MGM which has had lots of good reviews but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has ever stayed there.

Here's a list of things we're planning to do:

Wine Room at Rio

1 night downtown gambling and drinking til the sun comes up..did that our last trip and had a ball. Friendly people/dealers and lower table limits.

Phantom

Shopping at Ceasars hitting the stage deli for lunch and the mesa grill for dinner

I'd like any advice on the following:

Can you sign up with a limo service and negotiate a deal for them to pick up/drop you for 4 days? They have like 100 dollar rates for pickup dropoff at the airport. Anyone hear of anything like you pay 250 for an hour a day for four days?

Secondly, wife surprised me by suggesting we go into a strip club for awhile, which we've never done. We've done well at keeping things interesting over the last 20 years so I'm not totally surprised at her suggestion, but I'd rather not go somewhere that I need to be concerned over her safety, nor do I want to shell out $300 in an hour like I did in my 20s. Any suggestions for a safe fun flirty environment? We're not looking to pick a stripper up, just use her to get us riled up.
Advice anyone? :bag:
Spearmint Rhino. My wife and I go there twice a year when were in Vegas. She like's the girls more than I do! :pics:
Just got back from Vegas last week and we went to Saphire's and I liked it better than SR. Not as dark and seemed to be cleaner. The wife and I ended up taking one of the "finer" ladies out for dinner, dancing and drinks the following night. A most incredible night! :(
Was that the entire story?
Most certainly not! :pics:
So you took a stripper out for dinner and drinks, and she said "Thanks, Good night!"...otherwise you wouldn't be passing up the chance to spill details.
We went to a great dinner at Mona Ami Gabi, then to the Ghost Bar at the Palms. The ladies were enjoying themselves and getting a little friendly. A lot of Grey Goose and wine later we headed for the elevator which I have to say was the best elevator ride ever (much too short though). From the Palms we made it over to our condo and I have to say my view was the best in the city! :pics:

I will be out there for a few days after visiting some clients. I wound up at the Luxor of all places but Thursday night is comped. So for $150 total for the three nights, Wed-Fri. avg to $50 per night just off the strip.

Will seek an upgrade when checking in, this may be the best/wordt time to go since it's two weeks before their big night(NYE). Best in it's cheap and worst since I may be the only one in LV considering this economy.....

I went to NYE in Vegas for 2000, worst NYE ever, I can't see how that can be a big draw for them.

:lmao: At the very LEAST they'll comp your room for bringing that much business their way.

Didn't see this mentioned in the buffets section, but the Rio seafood buffet is one of the main reasons I go down there every year. About $40 to $50 for dinner depending on the day that you go and I usually just take in at least 5 platefuls of their mini lobster tails. Raw oysters have been fresh everytime w/ all the condiments that I like as well.

Much better than the Bellagio's.

Good Lord this was the worst trip I have ever been on. Long story short is I left NY on Wednesday afternoon around 4 pm. McCarren closed while we were in the air so we diverted to Phoenix, like so many other flights. Didn't get a gate until midnight local (3 am EST). By the time I got a reservation it was 2 am local and I was never able to get through to my carrier until the next morning (USAir). I was trying them until 5 am local and I gave up and slept for a few hours. Thursday morning I get through to USAir after a 55 minute hold time and they inform me they cannot get me to LV and they have no other suggestions. The customer service agent instructed me to call back after my trip was completed to see about a refund. Wonderful.I get to the hotel business service center to log onto the net and try SWA. I get a flight but not until 5 pm. With delays we don't leave until almost 8 pm. Land in LV at 8 pm (another time zone change) but we wait for a gate. By the time I get my bags and a cab it's almost 11 am by the time I reach the Luxor. I just went to bed.Woke up Friday morning and I am sick as a dog. Temp, aches sweats etc. I try walking the strip but it's no use. I go back to my room and sleep for a few more hours. I wake up around 4 pm and feel better. Hit the tables at Mandalay Bay, had a few drinks some dinner and was back in bed at 1 am. Leave for airport for my flight home (4pm)and I hit more delays and get to my door at home at 3 am EST. Absolute waste of time and some of the worst customer service I have experienced from multiple airline carriers. No wonder most of them will go out of business.

Any good Hotel deals going on mid-march? Airfare is dirt cheap now with the low cost of oil, much cheaper then it was last year.

I did a quick search:

Average nightly rate:

136 - Flamingo

159 - MGM

179 - MGM Signature (+80 resort fee)

159 - TI

180 - NY NY

211 - Hard Rock

229 - Bellagio

229 - Trump

249 - Venetian

255 - Mandalay

256 - Palms

309 - Wynn

1150, 1750, 7000 - MGM Skylofts :lmao:

My thinking is for the $20 tip trick at the reservation desk you can get a decent upgrade in a room, so the Flamingo may be the play for the GO room (normally 176 a night). I need to research it a little more to see if my assumption is correct.

Or I might just do MGM, since I prefer the poker room there to any of these other hotels. Might give the MGM Signature a shot, the $80 resort fee ($20/day) seems reasonable since it includes:

* fitness center access at The Signature

* high speed internet access (in-suite and public areas)

* free local and (800) calls

* in-suite private label coffee

* two bottles of water per suite per day

* daily newspaper delivery.

Going to Vegas for 4 days in June/July. Booked 4 nights at IP all comped. I know its IP but free was too good of a price to pass up. Our group will have another room elsewhere as well.

Agreed, it reminds me of the time Priceline just came out, I thought I was so cool that I was able to book a RT flight to Vegas for like $150. Only to find out I fly out on the red-eye Saturday night, and return Sunday morning at 7AM.

If you're looking for a pretty decent place at a cheap price, The Orleans has been doing $25/night on most nights. We were there in November and thought it was a good value. It's about 1/2 mile west of Luxor/Excalibur area, with free shuttle to the Strip.

The prices for the flights are ok, but the times are weak. Lots of return trips leaving Vegas at 11pm and arriving home at 5:20am...ugh.

1st weekend of NCAA, 18th-22nd I am pretty sure I am doing the Signature, just a little worried about the mile+ walk from my room to the poker room / sports book. When I stayed at the West Wing last time, that was pretty damn convenient.

I may have exaggerated a tiny bit, but seriously not by much. Here is the property map:http://www.mgmgrand.com/Data/media/MGM_Property_Map.pdf

The poker room and sports book is near the intersection of Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd. I'd estimate the distance from the sidewalk of either of those streets to the poker room is about 250-300 yards. So maybe from your room to the poker room / sports book you are talking anywhere between 2/3 of a mile to 3/4 of a mile. I should have a pedometer by the time I make the trip so I will record the distance and report back. <_<

I did a quick search:

Average nightly rate:

136 - Flamingo

159 - MGM

179 - MGM Signature (+80 resort fee)

159 - TI

180 - NY NY

211 - Hard Rock

229 - Bellagio

229 - Trump

249 - Venetian

255 - Mandalay

256 - Palms

309 - Wynn

1150, 1750, 7000 - MGM Skylofts :kicksrock:

My thinking is for the $20 tip trick at the reservation desk you can get a decent upgrade in a room, so the Flamingo may be the play for the GO room (normally 176 a night). I need to research it a little more to see if my assumption is correct.

Or I might just do MGM, since I prefer the poker room there to any of these other hotels. Might give the MGM Signature a shot, the $80 resort fee ($20/day) seems reasonable since it includes:

* fitness center access at The Signature

* high speed internet access (in-suite and public areas)

* free local and (800) calls

* in-suite private label coffee

* two bottles of water per suite per day

* daily newspaper delivery.
I will be in Vegas March 12 and 13. I am leaning towards the MGM. What dates you going?
1st weekend of NCAA, 18th-22nd I am pretty sure I am doing the Signature, just a little worried about the mile+ walk from my room to the poker room / sports book. When I stayed at the West Wing last time, that was pretty damn convenient.
HMMM a lit5tle confused the MGM Signature isnt in the MGM? Is it a different section? Your "I am pretty sure I am doing the Signature, just a little worried about the mile+ walk from my room to the poker room / sports book" comment scares me
I may have exaggerated a tiny bit, but seriously not by much. Here is the property map:http://www.mgmgrand.com/Data/media/MGM_Property_Map.pdf

Any good Hotel deals going on mid-march? Airfare is dirt cheap now with the low cost of oil, much cheaper then it was last year.
The prices for the flights are ok, but the times are weak. Lots of return trips leaving Vegas at 11pm and arriving home at 5:20am...ugh.
I just checked Kayak for opening round NCAA weekend and the cheapest flight I could find Orlando to Vegas was $386 round trip Thu-Sun. I wouldn't call that dirt cheap.
