Venting Thread (1 Viewer)

After Tim Hudson, and Jake Peavy getting screwed out of wins last night, it seems that we ought to have a venting thread. As a Peavy owner I would like to thank Trevor Hoffman for screwing my team out of the W last night. Bad enough that Ensberg's suckiness cost Wheeler a win, and Olsen pitched well enough to get the W and he got jack, but Hoffman decided that my team really did not need the win tongiht. Thanks :lmao:

I like this thread. I would also like to thank Ensberg for his 0-7 (10 men LOB) treasure last night. I would like to thank Sexson for his 0-18 slump and .148 batting average. Adam Laroche--here we come. Finally, where would my team be without Zambrano and his ridiculous start? Perhaps higher than 10th place :( ? Ok done venting for today.... :boxing: :scared: :bag: :)

I'll vent on the O's bullpen. Cabrera pitches his ### off for 6.2 innings and leaves tied 1-1. Bing, bang, boom. 6-1 Red Sox. You suck, O's bullpen.

you gotta love my line-up last night...

Jeter - PPD

Damon - PPD

Thome - rib cage

Dye - Back

F. Sanchez - stupid EYE

Olsen - didn't start him because the Braves own him

:welcome:

Charlie Manuel.
:lmao: they're on a 5 game winning streak since Manuel changed things up. This guy will never catch a break with Philly fans. When the team loses it's all because of Manuel but when the team wins, it's because the team is playing up to their potential.

Here is what my stellar pitching staff has contributed thus far:

Sheet, 1-2, Now hurt

Zambrano, 1-2

Contreras 0-1 - sent him to the curb after that opening day debacle

Escobar 1-1

Cain 1-1 - bullpen blew one

Verlander 1-0 - score some damn runs Tigers!

Bush 0-1

Lilly 1-1

Weaver 0-1

Ryan, 3 saves, 2 blown and on the DL

Putz - 1 save opportunity

Cordero - 1 save, 2 blown

Weathers - 1 save, 1 blown

Wheeler - 2 saves

Frasor - 1 save

Combined stats

6-14, 9 saves, 5 blown saves

:lmao:

:lmao: He already cost them 3 wins this year. You don't seriously think they'd only win 4 games all season did you.In their last 5 they've beaten:Eric Milton, Matt Belisle, Chris Sampson, Jason Bergman and John Patterson who all have a combined record of 4-10.Oh and that change you speak of. Brett Myers has pitched 2 meaningless innings. What has Manuel done again?

Oh, I forgot to vent about that.Meyrs to the pen......WTF!!!!! You have got to be kidding me.

Soloman Torres cost me dearly in a fantasy league, but his blow up allowed the Astros back into a game they were out of since the 1st inning and I had a bet on the Stros....so it was a mixed emotion. Of course, once Ensberg and company pooped the bed for 7 innings of extra play, my happiness was all gone and I was stuck with the realization that my #2 closer gave me an ERA of 54 last night and is probably about to lose his job. Oh, and I don't own Matt Capps.

:lmao:

And what about what Lieber has done in his 2 starts? Sometimes a change of chemistry can be a good thing when things aren't going well. The bullpen as a whole has been very stong since the move. Who cares who they've beaten...bottom line is they're winning. I'm not saying Manuel is the reason they're winning. I'm not even trying to insinuate that he's a good manager (I know he's not). However, if you guys are going to blame him for everything that goes wrong with the team, cut him a little slack when the team is actually winning.

Maybe if he didn't load the bases, he wouldn't have gotten "screwed." And besides, I had Owens going too, so I ended up with a win, a 3.00 ERA and 14 K/9 out of the game. :D And in other news you don't care about . . .

They would have won all 5 games if they would have put Adam Eaton in the bullpen instead of Myers. Eaton has had injury problems in the past and he has pitched in the bullpen before. It makes more sense to use him in a more limited role. Plus their starting rotation would be that much stronger with Myers in it. Instead, they've taken their best starting pitcher (or at least he was last year) and over the last week have given him two meaningless innings of work. The 5 game winning streaks just masks how bad Charlie Manuel was/is as a head coach. When the Phillies miss the playoffs by 1 or 2 games again, it's gonna be situations where he fails to double switch or insert a pinch runner that cost them games that will be the cause. But hey...cut Uncle Charlie a break the team beat 5 stiff pitchers in a row.

I already admitted that Manuel is not a good manager but at what point do the players accept some of the accountability? Manuel may have cost them a few games but the Phillies awful bullpen (which is something that should have been addressed by the Gillick in the offseason) and boneheaded mental gaffes are a much larger reason for their slow beginning? Is Manuel supposed to swing the bats for Utley, Howard and Victorino? Did Manuel tell Victorino to attempt a steal to 3b with 0 outs? I know Philly fans hate Manuel and to an extent I can understand it. I just think that if he's completely to blame for their losses then why doesn't he get any of the credit when they win?

Calling Out Tiexeira in here as seemed to work out pretty well...........

TWO BLOWN SAVES TODAY: THANKS ALOT FRASOR AND CORDERO - YOU GUYS SUCK. I TRADED AWAY REYES AND NEED YOU PANSIES TO PERFORM! I AM IN SECOND PLACE, NOT FIRST BECAUSE YOU CLOSERS SUCK. FIRST JULIO SCREWED UP MY ERA AND WHIP AND NOW YOU GUYS ARE PILING ON! STOP IT ALREADY!

Pap has to choose tonight to be human and cost me a Schilling win.

Plus, Lilly got off of the hook for my opponent this week as the Flubs rallied from 3 down.

8 point swing
