I know that there has been much speculation about DV and what will happen and FOX Sports's Jay Glazer's reported that DV was out, barring a SB run. Another source is reporting tonight that DV will retire, and it is not contingent on what happens tomorrow.

Vermeil To Retire After Season
Coaching Search Is On for 2006
Saturday night, sources told Metro Sports that Chiefs head coach **** Vermeil plans to retire at the end of the 2005 season.
Vermeil told his team at the Overland Park Marriott, where they were staying before the final regular season game.
Vermeil informed his coaching staff of the decision to retire after his 15th NFL season earlier in the day.
His future with the Chiefs had been widely discussed, leading to much speculation and irritation.
He snapped at a radio reporter on Tuesday who quoted an on-line article at FoxSports.com, indicating that Vermeil wouldn't be back and it wasn't his choice.
“I don’t know who wrote that but it’s bull- - - -. Could you misunderstand that? You can quote me on that. Just like I was run out of St. Louis, that’s….. People make a living on speculation. They’re an embarrassment to the media.”
Vermeil had indicated, throughout the season, that he would not make a spur of the moment decision.
One of his biggest regrets was walking away from the St Louis Rams after winning Super Bowl XXXIV.
Vermeil made it clear he didn't want to leave an ascending program again.
At 9-6, the Chiefs remain alive in the playoff picture after San Diego's loss to Denver on Saturday.
To advance as the final wild card team, the Chiefs must beat Cincinnati at Arrowhead, while 5-10 Detroit wins at 10-5 Pittsburgh.
Vermeil was introduced as the Chiefs 9th head coach on January 12, 2001 after stops in Philadelphia and St Louis.
He's one of only four coaches in league history to lead two different teams to the Super Bowl, twice being named coach of the year.
Vermeil, who's 69, has a career NFL record of 124-114.
This will be his fifth and final season in Kansas City where he's 43-36.
His only other winning season here was 2003 when the Chiefs captured the AFC West title at 13-3, earned home field advantage throughout the playoffs, but lost a first round game to Indianapolis, 38-31.
After the season ends, the Vermeils are expected to return to “The Ranch,” a 114-acre homestead located outside Philadelphia in rural Chester County, Pennsylvania.
