Very deep RB sleepers (1 Viewer)

This time of year is a good time to fill the bottom of your bench with good DT matchups but also some RB's from the WW who just may emerge in the fantasy playoffs. One other factor is in trying to determine who can succeed if opportunity arrises. My focus is on RB's who are potentially available in deeper leagues. If Chester Taylor is a free agent in your league format this may not be the thread for you. If Whitehead is starting as your 8th flex RB this may not be the thread for you. Here's my take:

NEP - They have 5 RB's with value. Unlikely one emerges. Tough to roster so many. That said, only Law Firm is likely to be a free agent at this point in a deeper league.

NYJ - Doubt Whitehead can be a stud on that offense and the others are rostered.

MIA - Unlikely that Hilliard is a FA in many leagues but could very well be a fantasy stud if something happens to Ricky.

BUF - Unlikely a 3rd RB emerges.

CIN - Leonard likely the only RB not on a team. Unlikely to emerge now.

BLT - Not likely on the WW but McClain or McGahee have value should Rice get hurt.

PIT - If Mendy gets hurt I'd rather own Moore than FWP but neither is likely a FA.

CLE - We'll see if Jennings or Harrison can hold value. Neither are on most WW's though. I can't help but think Davis would be a fantasy icon by now if he didn't get hurt in that drill.

IND - Simpson seems only an Addai injury away from significant value as Brown can't stay healthy. He could be a week 16 wonder either way.

JAX - Not a great offense but Jennings needs to be rostered. Greg Jones is likely not going to get it done. An MJD injury makes Jennings a nice RB2/flex.

TEN - Ringer not likely a free agent and similar to MJD/Jennings, would struggle to be a stud but a great lottery ticket although the LenDale factor makes Jennings my choice as White is more likely to matter if CJ gets hurt than Jones if MJD goes down.

HOU - Will Foster or Moats get another shot? Brown is injury prone and Slaton is now hurt. Slaton is IMO the RB to own pending how the injury bug plays out but Foster is a nice flier as Brown and Moats are likely owned. For now the RB of the week is Brown with solid 60-20-1 potential.

SDC - If LT gets hurt I doubt they go deeper than Sproles although Tolbert can be their power option.

DEN - Jordan is a forgotten man and very unlikely to be valuable even with an injury. I assume CBuck is owned otherwise he'd be a high priority flier.

KCC - If Charles gets hurt I wouldn't bother with a backup although whoever would get 20 touches has some value.

OAK - Pass. If two of the 3 get hurt I'd use the 3rd otherwise I just don't see it. Run DMC is a strong sell in a dynasty IMO. Bush and Fargas cancel each other out too much in a bad offense.

DAL - Choice would start for A LOT of teams in this league. None are likely FA's though.

PHI - I just don't see Buckley or Weaver emerging although if Westy doesn't return and McCoy gets hurt who knows.

NYG - A bit of buzz around GJohnson with Ware hurt but Bradshaw may be back although he could be closer than we think to the possibility of playing time.

WAS - Hard to go much deeper than Cartwright, Mason, and Ganther on a bad team. If one of them gets 20 touches they can be startable. I don't think Portis is any more likely than Westy to play again this year.

MIN - Chester is the man if ADP goes down. Young is listed as their #3. I know nothing about him and whlie both ADp and CT are nursing injuries it would take a lot for a 3rd RB to emerge. That said, if both sat out whoever would start would be huge.

GBP - Jackson and Green have some value but this is a pass-first team.

CHI - Bell is likely rostered now although one run doesn't make him valuable. Peterson is unlikely to be valuable.

DET - If Smith gets hurt I'd be unlikely to trust Morris or Brown although the 20 touch rule applies.

NOS - I'm liking Lynelle Hamilton to have value before this season is over with all 3 RB's in front of him proving to be injury prone and already dinged up.

ATL - Snelling and Norwood are both rostered. Snelling is still a better fit to carry the load despite the recent hype around Norwood I would hold Snelling for NO, NYJ, BUF in 14-16.

CAR - Goodson or Sutton are still possibilities although the playoff schedule isn't favorable. Stewart and DW have been dinged up all season but have yet to sit though.

TBB - One or two of the 3 stooges have to get hurt for the survivor to have value. Similar to OAK I wouldn't bother otherwise and maybe not even then.

ARI - If HT gets hurt could Howling step into their receiving back role?

SFO - Coffee wasn't a stud last time but this team is better now. I wouldn't bother with Robinson.

SEA - I gave up on Rankin. This isn't a good team and Forsett isn't available anywhere. If Forsett and JJ both miss I suppose Rankin could get his shot but this isn't a good team.

STL - If SJax gets hurt I smell 40 yards from his backup.

Anyone see sleepers I've overlooked?

Nice work.

The one guy you didnt list that I would include is Mike Hart in Indy, who just got called up from the PS.

Im glad you brought up Stephens-Howling in ARI. He's explosive and they like him a lot. He could get more involved down the stretch even if Hightower's thumb is ok.

We went through Hart vs. Simpson the last time they had injury woes and I figured Simpson has the nod.

Nice topic...dynasty-wise it is interesting to note that Taylor is a FA after the season. Young has shown burst in preseason and they still have Ian Johnson on the practice squad.

This is a very good topic. Some of us still play in leagues where the Championship game is Week 17 and I have one waiver wire move to make before then. I have been vacillating between Chad Simpson, Hamilton or Jennings. I like Simpson the best because Indy is the most likley team to rest guys that week. The Saints will likely be playing for home field Week 17 so they'll go with their starters unless they are all injured by then. Jennings is merely a back-up for MJD so unless he Drew gets injured, Jennings value is essentially nil.

I picked Hamilton as my deep super reach but I'm debating changing it to Sutton with DW out and Stewart already dinged up. They aren't nearly as good of a team but they do have a good OL and a commitment to run.
