VERY funny quotes from the 1-4 Arizona Cardinals (1 Viewer)

GRIDIRON ASSASSIN

Footballguy
These boys' egos are clearly writing checks their bodies can't cash.

I especially like the rookie Leonard Pope chiming in. The same Leonard Pope who has a grand total of 3 catches for 41 yards.

RICH RICH stuff. Karlos Dansby is gonna get one of his offensive players killed. I wonder if Urlacher and Dansby will ever be on the field at the same time on special teams....

These guys weren't paying attention when Roy Williams of Detroit humiliated himself in Game Two. Or perhaps they think that meaningless game they played against the Bears in preseason actually meant something to the undefeated Bears.

Leonard Pope, "The Bears are a good team, but with our offense and our defense we will come out ahead on Monday Night".

Leonard Davis, " Our O Line is good, we have proven it the last (2) games. The Bears have a good front (4), but not that dominating like everybody has talked about. The way we have played shows what kind of team we are. We match up against the Bears and we will get a win on Monday Night."

Karlos Dansby, " Our linebackers are just as good as the Bears. I feel at least we can fight off blocks. I won't give a name but there is a linebacker for the Bears who makes alot more money than me and he is known not to be able to fight off a block."

Matt Leinart, " I feel I played well against KC. My ability to scramble seemed to give them problems, and I feel it will continue to give teams problems."

Question from news radio, " Do you think the Bears Front (4) will have problems with your mobility?"

Leinart Response, " I think they have a good front (4). They are more of a straight ahead rush type front (4), which works well for me."

I hope Leinart remembers his quotes as the Bears D-Line takes turns sitting on his facemask.

What are they supposed to say?

"We're not good enough to beat hte #1 team in the league, and I expect we'll get our butts handed to us?"

If they DO beat the Bears or give them a good game, their confidence pays off - if they get their butts handed to them, their confidence going into the game STILL pays off - they weren't SUPPOSED to win, or even compete.

First of all, I think a rookie that was expected to be a difference maker that hasn't done jack squat should just shut his yapper.

Dansby is nuts though. It's easy to shoot your mouth off about a guy that you never have to face.

I had nothing more than a passing interest in this game, but I think it's gonna be a donnybrook now. The Bears defense is going to eviscerate Leinart, then Warner, then leave 'em with John Navarre for the rest of the season.

Doesn't change the fact that he's correct.

Just like they were going to 'bury' Brad Johnson. Without one hell of a play by Harris, they lose that game.I still don't think the Cards have a shot in a hell.

Whatever Grid - you are making WAY More out of this than needs to be made. None of the comments outsid eof Dansby's were bulletin board worthy - and Leinart said nothing denigrating.

Not that it matters now (different team, different year), but bonus points to whoever remembers what Edgerrin James did the last time he faced da Bears in a regular-season game.

Yes, the other teams should all go sit quietly in corners, not talking about the Bears without permission.

:lmao:

If just that one play wouldn't have happened, a certain team wouldn't have won the game. Gimme a break with that nonsense. ETA: I see nothing wrong with most of their comments. If you don't have confidence in yourselves, you've already lost the battle.

No, the "dumbest stance" taken on these forums is "Take away his long run and he had an average day"

That too. I kinda bunch all those together in the same category.

I think that depends on context and team schemes. Sometimes, it's valid. If a team is a ball control running oriented offense that has to win TOP as part of their game plan, when an RB (and this is often more on the entire offense, not just the RB) has a YPC of 2.1, but inflates that with one long 60 or 70 yard run, that isn't going to help such a team win very often. That can equate to a bunch of 3 and outs, but perhaps get 6 points. From a FF perspective, I agree, it means nothing, but from a team W-L and a HC's perspective, that sort of perfomance won't be all that helpful in getting wins. I've always preferred north-south RB's, as opposed to the dancers who can run for 25 yards and get tackled 3 yards behind the LOS. That is not helpful.... at least for teams that want to run and control the clock. In short, give me an RB that has a 4.2 YPC and only has a few long runs over the course of a season, as opposed to the guy that has a 2.1 YPC when his one or two long runs per game is excluded from the numbers. They both might have a 4.2 YPC, but the guy that is consistently getting yards every possession is the guy I'd want.

I think the Cardinals best player is Anquan Boldin.
:goodposting: May very well be right.I love the Bears this year, but I think if (When?) they loose a game it will be to a Pass first type team.
A power running team is their worst matchup. Think last year's Steeler game. A spread it out passing team that can protect the qb is big concern though.
One thing is for sure, it's going to take a near mistake free game to beat them.

That is the major problem with a passing team beating them. Throwing it that many times without big negative plays would be a major major accomplishment against this team. Ricky and Danieal Manning are both major improvements over last year.

While this isn't the best bulletin board material ever put out there - I do think these kind of comments are dumb.

Just give the old Bull Durham style responses, "The Bears are obviously playing as well as or better than anyone in the league right now. It's going to be a really tough game." Or, "The Bears D is as good as it gets. It's going to be a really tough game, but I welcome the challenge." Or "I'm just going to go out there and give it my best, and god willing, everything will work out right."

And if in your heart you think you're going to beat the Bears - go out and do it. Beating them will be enough - you won't need to have said you were going to do it ahead of time.

Worst fight song in history???

Bear Down, Chicago Bears. Make every play clear the way to victory! Bear Down, Chicago Bears. Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!

We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation, With your T formation.

Bear Down, Chicago Bears. And let them know why you're wearing the crown.

You're the pride and joy, of Illinois.

Chicago Bears, Bear Down!

Well, if you take away Grid's worst post, he still sucks. ;)

2004 - Week 11 - @ ChicagoEdge - 23 carries 204 yards 1 touchdown
You and the Gator are correct. Edge went crazy on Urlacher and the boys.If I remember correctly, Dungy yanked Edge and most of the key offensive starters early in the fourth quarter. Edge easily could have reached 250 had he stayed in 'til the end.Of course, he'll be lucky to get 20 yards (because of his crappy O-line) this time.

I guess the entire league should bow down and kiss the Bears on the ###
FINALLY a guy that gets it.You don't tug on Superman's cape. ...and that is exactly what Dansby is doing. And the more I read what Leonard Davis said, the less I have to take issue with:Leonard Davis, "...The way we have played shows what kind of team we are...."Yes, this is true - your team is 1-4 Davis.

I agree...the Vikings gave them their best game and that is running it right at them. They don't have size up front, so you need to try and wear them down (easier said than done), but I think they have too much speed up front to try and finesse them.

I think too much is made about pregame talk and bulletin board quotes. After kickoff, it all comes down to which team is more physical, executes, and protects the ball.

Arizona is in trouble on all counts with or without opening their mouths.

They didn't say anything that bad........

But everyone should lay off Grid. After all the Bears have been a hopless model of suckiness for how long now?? I think he needs to vent a bit....

Yeah, but the Bears had a ton of injuries on defense that year, they had Craig Krenzel starting at QB, and um, Edge had some other QB handing off to him. I forget his name - but he had a decent 2004 regular season from what I recall...

FINALLY a guy that gets it.
We can distill all the recent quotes from rabid bears fans to the above series of quotes. That is all.
Same here pal:"Not quite, fool. The Patriots will CRUSH the Bears on Nov 26. Write it down. It's a lock. Lovie can't hold BB's jockstrap. Grossman is a fraud. Brady is GOD. You lose.

Proud tool in the house. Peace out".

Seriously. the tone of the quotes is on the order of, "We're a pretty good team. We match up well with Chicago. " It's not what I would call smack talk. It's more like trying to turn a lemon into lemonade.

If by Urlacher and the boys you mean someone other than Brian Urclacher. He didn't play in that game.on edit: Mike Brown didn't play in that game either (was hurt for much of the year.)

I don't know- tell me all about it sunshine....

Not that I am giving the Cards much of a chance to win, but uhmm, when did the Bears all of the sudden become the greatest team ever? Any team that has to give Chester Taylor a xmass card isnt on the best team ever list.

^Maybe not the best team ever but the best franchise in the history of the nfl? Seems like a nice tag. The Chargers? Solid team this year no doubt but not much of a winning history for the Boltz. Cool uniforms...

You sore loser Viking fans just can't seem to face reality, Taylor did not drop the ball, Harris forced it out, no gift there. I do get a bit of enjoyment out of you guy's that keep bringing it up, bunch of sour grapes.

Did Urlacher miss that game? I have to admit I didn't look it up, just going by memory that Edge had a great performance. If that's the case, my bad.Again, I'm not saying Edge will do it again. I just figured most people forgot that game by now.

You have to remember when this was written. There are many fights songs worse than this. Obviously anything written in the 1920s or 30s isn't going to have the same bite we expect from a fight song written today.
