Very reliable source on Raiderfans.net says Ocho/Bush trade is BOGUS (1 Viewer)

Sorry to stir the pot on this but...

I have a friend, a guy I see at the gym where I work out, and he's a Raiders scout.

One day, maybe a couple months ago, we were talking about a lot of Raiders things, and something he brought up was their interest in trying to trade for Ocho. I know nothing about this recent rumor, but as of about a week or two before the Combine, Ocho was definitely a target of theirs.

Do me a favor, brother. Next time you see him, tell him I once timed Michael Crabtree in the 40, and he ran a 4.16. TIA

FWIW, he also has told me there are 3 O-Linemen and Crabtree they are targeting with their 1.07 pick. Now that it's April he's not talking. I asked him about the draft yesterday morning and he just smiled and said "sorry, can't talk about it now that it's getting close." My sense is Crabtree is their guy unless he's taken earlier, based on what he was saying before. He even mentioned maybe having to move up to get him. But, again, that was awhile back.

Now why take this attitude? I, for one, am glad CP is sharing this.

Me too. You missed my point. I am a fan of Crabtree, and was tongue-in-cheek hoping that a scout learning of a crazy 40 time might influence the Raiders to draft Crabs. I was making fun of the Raiders propensity for speed, while making my desire known. Pretty sure CP knew I wasn't doubting his story.

Hi Spike... I think Massraider was just using this to say "tell him they should get Crabtree" rather than knocking anyone. At least that's how I took it. Maybe Massraider can clarify his intent. In case anyone is wondering, I'm not making up this story about Ocho Cinco, and my friend really is a Raiders scout. A poster here called "One" and I PM back and forth, and I told him back in Feb the info the scout had given me on the Raiders' interest in Ocho Cinco, so I'm not pulling it out of my backside just for of this thread. One, if you're out there, feel free to corroborate.

100% true. ...CP wasn't wishy-washy either. With John Thorton hearing it could be a possibility, I think this story could have legs.

Thorton also broke the Housh to Seattle story.

this would not be a good thing for Chad Johnson owners to say the least. But, it would be funny to watch him languish in the Black Hole.

Glad to read there may be some truth to that horrible story I posted yesterday. I was getting ready to leave, saw this article linked elsewhere, and posted before reading it thoroughly. I didn't expect to see what I did when I logged on today. Oops.

Chad-to-Raiders report debunked

Cincinnati.Com

There have been a lot of rumors and speculation the past week about Chad Ocho Cinco's future with the Bengals.

First, he didn't show up for the beginning of offseason conditioning workouts on Monday. Then, Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports on Thursday had a list of 10 players who could be traded before the draft, with Ocho Cinco at No. 2

On Saturday, a blogger on BleacherReport.com reported the Raiders and Bengals are hammering out a trade to send Ocho Cinco to Oakland in exchange for running back Michael Bush and a second-round draft pick.

According to the blogger, Kushy Williams: "I got a quick minute to ask (new Raiders coach Tom) Cable about this trade, and he responded by saying this move makes them more flexible come draft day by taking care of a huge hole on offense."

Williams' report was deubunked by several media outlets, including the Enquirer.

According to the Oakland Tribune, Raiders owner Al Davis does not want to give up on Bush, a third-round pick out of Louisville in 2007.

Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan on Saturday said the team would not comment on speculative player moves.

The NFL Draft is April 25-26, and the Bengals have 11 picks, including the sixth overall.

Notwithstanding a worthlessly bogus item on bleacherreport.com indicating that the Bengals already have traded receiver Chad Ochocinco to the Raiders for running back Michael Bush and a second-round draft pick, there actually is a belief in league circles that the Raiders have some interest in the player formerly known as Chad Johnson.

It currently isn’t known whether any talks have occurred between the Raiders and Bengals.

It remains to be seen whether the Bengals would trade him, especially since they could have gotten as much as two first-round draft picks last year from the Redskins for him.

That said, Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports recently reported that the Bengals might be ready to move the veteran wideout, in the same offseason that teammate T.J. Houshmandzadeh bolted via free agency for Seattle.

Meanwhile, James Walker of ESPN.com reports that Ochocinco will lose a $250,000 bonus by not participating in voluntary offseason workouts.

Just in case anyone was still wondering about this rumor. This poster has been on RFN for years and is in contact with Michael Bush quite often. He has proven his relationship with past scoops and pics with Michael. I think he became friends with him while customizing his car a couple years ago.
i realize that story is false, but this in no way debunks itif Bush was about to be traded, the LAST person to know would be Bush

Uh.... well...... DUH!*The Raiders should, and I am sure do, have a healthy interest in just about any WR that is a true #1.

*Just to be clear the duh part is not directed at you One.
