Thats typical Vick, I didn't expect anything more.Vick's stat line:7-11 passing, 26 yards. 1 Int.7 rushes, 35 yrds. 1 TD on a QB draw from the 2.Sacked 4 times for 40 yrds lost. 2 fumbles, 1 lost.
A stat line (or two or three) doesn't really indicate how well or poorly he played in last nights game. Unless you actually saw the game, you cannot deduce that he played well or poorly from that stat line.Truth be told, I was surprised by how well he played. He didn't just take off running like I was so used to seeing him do in Atlanta. He actually kept looking for targets down field while moving out of the pocket in passing situations. It wasn't until the last possible moment that he took off running. As far as the sacks, they had nothing to do with Vick and everything to do with the personnel on the line.Yeah, the Eagles will keep Vick and find a partner to trade with as far as Feeley is concerned. Too much invested in Kolb to move him, which I would prefer.Vick's stat line:7-11 passing, 26 yards. 1 Int.7 rushes, 35 yrds. 1 TD on a QB draw from the 2.Sacked 4 times for 40 yrds lost. 2 fumbles, 1 lost.

I would also like to see them keep Feeley and move Kolb. But it's not going to happen.A stat line (or two or three) doesn't really indicate how well or poorly he played in last nights game. He didn't look fluid or explosive at all running the ball - in fact he looked rather stiff and tentitive. Of course it should be expected for him to be a little rusty after two years out of the game, but he didn't look good at all last night. One Int and one fumble against 2nd and 3rd string defense.![]()

If he can't, then isn't he just a bad pocket passer?
Or not run backwards for 25 yards and then lay down for a sack? Maybe at one point throw away the ball?
I think most of the people here talking about how bad he looked last night watched the game and saw for themselves how horrilble he really was. There wasn't much poitive you could take from that game unless you're a blind Vick supporter. He looked lost and aged. The man that played last night looked like a small fraction of the one that played a couple years ago. Will he ever get it back? I don't know. But I for one hope not.For someone who hasn't played in a live football game in 2 years I thought he played well, underthrew the INT, but what other QB would have the opposing defense all out blitzing them in the 4th quarter of a preseason game (which led to the fumble)? If you're gonna hate on Vick at least do it intelligently and have some sort of basis for it, if you actually watched him play tonight you'd see he performed pretty well considering the circumstances..
The royal we can keep reminding that it was hist first time back in two years but it still doesnt refute that he looked horrible. Downright horrible. It's funny how people keep saying he's terrible, must we mind you again that this was his first full half of NFL football in over two years?
He's still not used to the huge feeling, his legs aren't the same as they used to be as he's still getting that back together, quite honest his arm looked pretty good.
We'll see his overall stats by the end of the season, even if he's playing a position he's never played before.![]()
Despite what you'd think from that regard, Vick has always been one of the most sacked QBs in the league. Part of it is poor decision making, part of it is a desire to keep the play going and part of it is the belief that his physical ability allows him to do anything. Another factor here is that once he starts running around like a madman, blockers can't keep up with where he is, who they should block, or which way they should block them. That's a big reason TB did so well against Vick, they had the speed to contain him and get past unsure blockers.A stat line (or two or three) doesn't really indicate how well or poorly he played in last nights game. What I was thinking exactly. Nobody waste time proving me wrong (it's not worth it), but I sure don't remember seeing that type of line.Exactly.The offensive line is going to be an issue for ANY QB in Philly.
Most of the plays were shovel passes, it's not exactly a typical offense. If you watched him play you would know that, but like most Vick haters you guys just read boxscores. Rex Ryan came out and spoke glowingly about what a threat Vick is to defenses across the league.sho nuff said:How is it possible to average 2.4 yards per pass?I mean...its terrible for an RB...its ridiculously bad for a QB.
Not true at all. Yes he turned the ball over a few times and yes at times he looked like a shell of the Vick of old (which some will argue wasn't much to begin with anyways), however he made some big plays with his feet, kept the defense on its toes, evaded the pass rush multiple times to turn nothing into a couple big first downs, I don't see how you could possibly say only blind Vick supporters could take something positive from his first extended game action in 2 years.. I don't think anyone in their right mind thought Vick would go out there and return to form immediately, but he certainly displayed the athleticism that gives opposing D's fits. Like I mentioned before, you don't see many defenses all out blitzing a guy in the 4th quarter of the final preseason game, and if you did watch the game you'd see that Philly's offensive line was atrocious. Vick is nowhere near a starting caliber QB right now, but there were definitely some positives to take from the game and for him to build off of. This isn't a humanitarian competition, this is football and I'm basing my opinions on what I saw on the field and the potential Vick has to add another element that defenses have to worry about. Numerous highly talented players in the NFL have acknowledged what Vick brings to the football field and the problems he presents to opposing defenses, so if we're talking strictly football here then he definitely has the potential to contribute for Philly this year.Mr. Peterson said:I think most of the people here talking about how bad he looked last night watched the game and saw for themselves how horrilble he really was. Think he went 5 for 5 with a nice TD to Cotchery, own him in my 14 team dynasty and have heard nothing but good things about the kid, not expecting much but you never know, looking forward to watching him play this season. All you guys defending Vicks pathetic play, what you think of the rookie Jets QB?
Yet another "exactly."He was never a good QUARTERBACK, why should he be good one after 2 years. Bad football decision by the birds, they don't need him
Umm...Im sorry. 2.4 yards per pass is not defensible.Blame it on the offense all you want...but its pathetic. And don't call me a hater. I think it was a good move to sign the guy...but that stat is just awful and no amount of trying to paint someone as a hater for pointing it out will change that.Truman said:Most of the plays were shovel passes, it's not exactly a typical offense.
