Vick injured (1 Viewer)

Would the tools bringing up old #### in a fantasy football thread please shut the #### up?

seriously...we get it... you hate him. Cool. Go start a thread in the FFA, throw on your white robes , light your torches and talk about how bad of a person he is.

Let's leave the Shark Pool thread to Football discussion please. TIA.

Keep it classy.

Now to get things back on topic...

The Eagles breathed a big sigh of relief -- and we mean really, really big -- when X-rays of Michael Vick's left thumb were negative.

Vick injured his left hand -- he's left-handed -- when he banged it into the helmet of center Jason Kelce while following through on a pass in the Eagles' preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field. Vick started waving the hand in obvious pain and walked off the field while the Eagles' coaches, players and fans crossed their fingers, and maybe their toes, too.

Backup QB Mike Kafka came in for the next series, adding more angst, as the Eagles' medical team huddled around Vick. But then the QB went to the locker room for X-rays and everything was OK again in Eagleland.
EDIT: was posted earlier in the thread but just trying to get the train back on the tracks.

I'm an animal lover. I couldn't have been more furious at Vick when I found out what happened. But he paid his debt to society, and he's said and done all the right things since being released from prison. If any of you made horrible mistakes and then did what a judge and jury required you to do, you'd hope to be forgiven at some point.

To forgive doesn't mean to forget, mind you. It just means you try to find good in people.
And about that vaterp is absolutely right, I havent forgiven him, not saying it wont happen, im not embarrassed at all to needle him every chance I get, no one should ever forget.Hes done a lot, and imo he needs to do more, he was broke coming out of prison, say a few words and have one good game get rewarded with a $100m contract - like nothing ever happened.

The fact that he is getting sponsors on top of his ridiculous contract have made me even more bitter.
Excellent posting and imo he's not sorry at all for what he's done, just sorry he got caught and lost everything he had, until Andy decided he was a more worthwhile reclamation project than his own kids.
I dont' know why I'm going to jump in this fishing contest. But yeah Mike is doing nothing is ridiculoushttp://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-20045323-504083.html

I forgot that the quality of posts in the pool is paramount to everything else.Oh wait, if that was the case there would be a handful of threads with a handful of posts.

So how fast do you have to be on top of how far you have to be able to throw, to get a 100 million dollar contract? Just curious.

If you can get him in the 6th round or beyond I think that makes for excellent value. Perhaps this rib injury will provide just that scenario. I'll take his upside and a few missed games and just back him up with another solid qb just in case. Then you can load up at rb/wr/TE and take him in the 6th. Not bad

Cant find it, appears Rotoworld is ashamed.

In the 2012 Industry Mock Draft they took Ryan Mathews at the 1.02 and followed it up with Michael Vick in the 2nd.

If you ever needed a reason to never take them seriously, there you go.

Sadly, this also hurts DJax's value. It seems that when Vick is healthy, DJax has good numbers (likely has to do with safety contain and Vick's threat to run). But when Vick is out, DJax numbers make him almost unstartable as anything other than a WR3 in 12+ teamers.

I thought he was pretty unstartable with vick.

someone posted that benching Brady tonight was dumb. After the hit he took against New Orleans last week and the hit Vick took tonight it's looking like a pretty smart decision.

Didn't he miss some time in 2010 with broken ribs? Maybe 3 or 4 games? Think he broke them against the skins, when 2 guys did "THE MALACHI CRUNCH" on him.

:goodposting: Agree with this. When he's on, he's one of the best. If you can snag him late and back up with a Freeman or Cutler, I say swing for the fences.

There are better QBs available later that dont miss any time.

not on a per-game basis...and I think that's the point of his post.

Is that you Mathew Berry?I forgot we only count 2010, specifically the 3 good games he had. How silly of me.

Wow, that's the first time I've watched twitter to specifically follow an injury to a high profile player. That was a fun 30 mins.

 Spot on. I like his upside as a QB1 for QB2 value. I'd take him QB 12 and then take my backup within the next rd or two. Allows me to stack up in other positions, and have a guy that can play as a top 5 QB any week. Good value is all I am saying.

He would have to fall pretty far to end up the QB12...Atm his ADP is QB6, which puts him pretty far up there in terms of being over rated.

Obviously this isn't the norm, but I took him as qb11 in a draft this past Saturday. He was my backup to Matt Ryan though, so I felt ok with taking the risk.

Actually he's been falling pretty far. I just snagged him as QB12 in the 7th round of a 12-team league as well. If anything, this game should keep him plummeting farther.
