Vick says hammy injury worse then he thought (1 Viewer)

Good news for Foles owners going forward.

Michael Vick said his hamstring pull is "worse than what I thought it was going to be."
Vick has already missed 1 1/2 games and is almost certainly out for this week's game against the Cowboys. He has no idea when he'll be medically cleared. "I want to get back out there, but I can't," Vick said Wednesday. "I try to burst and run, I can't do it. Just hoping it's not a long time." Vick added that the injury is up high in his hamstring, in the spot where trainers usually see longer recovery timetables. Pencil Nick Foles in as the Eagles' starter indefinitely.

Yeah I'm considering just dropping Vick. Who knows how long he will be out or whether he will be the starter once he does heal up. Neither of these situations are good, but both of them combined are adding up to me sending him to the waiver wire.

I'm pretty confident if Foles gets the start for the next 4-5 games in this offense that Vick won't have a job when he's healthy.

I don't think it takes that long. The coaches are already dancing around the issue (they have that luxury because of the injury). If Foles plays well this week and next, my money is on Mike Vick "the back-up."

So moving forward value wise, where does Foles rank? Is he ahead of a guy like Eli? FBG isnt very high on him yet he does have a favorible schedule for FF playoffs.

Yeah... Foles is already 1.5 games in on wowing Chip with his on the field performance. If he comes out this week against Dallas and puts a beating on them like he did the Bucs, it's his job for the remainder of the season baring injury. Just looking at how their stats look together it'd be a joke if Vick were starting this week even if healthy.

Mike Vick: 53.79% Completion Percentage, 90.6 QB Rating, 5 TDs, 2 INTs, 1185 yards or 263.33ypg in 4.5 games

Nick Foles: 67.85% Completion Percentage, 124.1 QB Rating, 5 TDs, 0 INTs, 493 yards or 328.66ypg in 1.5 games

Foles has a 14.06% higher completion percentage which is just asinine. Vick has the second lowest completion rating in the NFL among starters, he's last in completions among starters... only 2 ahead of Jake Locker who hasn't even played in 2 weeks and 9 behind Chad Henne who also didn't play for two weeks. Also behind Brandon Weeden by 15 who also, didn't play for 2.5 weeks. It's pathetic.

His 5 TDs are lowest among starting QBs. He's tied with Terrelle Pryor and EJ Manuel who both missed time and 1 above Brandon Weeden who also missed time.

Vick is 2nd in YPA however, but I believe that's a product of the system. He's second behind Peyton (9.1ypa) with 9.0 YPA. However, Foles would come in at 3rd with 8.9ypa.

Small sample sizes obviously, but it's all we have to go on. Regardless, if Foles puts up another 250+ yard, 2+ TD game with no turnovers and the Eagles walk away with a win at home? He's the starter on this team and will be 3-0 as such to this point. The Eagles probably lost the game against the Giants if Vick doesn't pull up there. He couldn't get the ball into the end zone. Eagles kicked FGs on 4/5 of their scoring drives prior to Foles entering the game. From there they had a TD on 2/3 scoring drives. Last week in Tampa the Eagles scored a TD on 4/5 scoring drives. So breaking down that number...

Foles: TDs on 7/9 drives 77.8% red zone TD efficiency

Vick: TDs on 11/21 drives 52.3% red zone TD efficiency

Hamstring pull of that severity for a running QB = a while out.

One of the worst parts of the body to injure as an athlete

He's several spots ahead of Eli. Eli is in the bottom third of the league (NFL or fantasy) whereas Foles is in the Top 10 (also NFL or fantasy).

???

Dodds is all over Foles' nuts this week.. as am I.
I just took a look. Dodds has him top 5, but he's barely or not a QB1 per Bloom/Maurille. I kind of think he falls somewhere in the middle, maybe top 6-7 with the matchup this week.

with my league's scoring, Foles is #3 this week.

thing is, theyre not gonna be bananas on him, until he named the straight up starter ROS.

Once that happens, his value will be though the roof, as his schedule here on out is laughable.

They said it was at least 2 to 4 weeks right after the giants game. Everyone in the media chose to ignore that in favor of having a qb controversy.
