Dan Snyder's List of Things to do to Jason Campbell

1. Switch Coordinators and Coaches on him Every Chance You Get.

2. Try to trade him the first year you don't do #1.

3. Threaten to Bring in Mike Vick.

4. Bench him for Colt.

5. Shoot him in the Face.

The minute I saw agent Joel Segal chatting with Vinny Cerrato this morning under a tent at Redskins Park, I figured I would soon be sitting at my laptop typing this name: Michael Vick.

Despite having been the first to report that Vick would not be joining the Redskins, I knew the speculation would start swirling again because Segal was watching practice with his buddy and, well, that's just the way things work in today's 24-hour news cycle. Segal goes way back with Cerrato and counts several Redskins among his clients, including quarterback Jason Campbell, free safety LaRon Landry and cornerback DeAngelo Hall.

Obviously, though, there is intense media and fan interest in Vick and where the quarterback might sign, and Segal knows how this works. He would not have been chilling with Cerrato at a Redskins practice, which was open to the media, unless he was willing to talk about Vick.

Segal and Cerrato spoke with Campbell and Hall after practice and then Segal gave the media some time. After the scribes lobbed a few softball warmup questions at Segal, the conversation turned to Vick.

"No," Segal answered when asked if Vick could land with the Skins. "No chance."

Awesome. Dan Snyder is awful and the Skins' fan base hates him. I'm not even a huge Skins fan, but I live in DC, and I despise that little twerp.

I think Danny is to scared to bring him in.
 
Why not? Jason Campbell's nothing special. If Vick isn't finished he'd probably win the starting job and the Redskins might have a chance to do something this season.

I don't know why. It's not like there are any animal rights organizations in the Washington D.C. area. :crazy:
 
It's not so much what Mike Tomlin said but rather what the Steelers coach didn't say on the subject of Michael Vick.Tomlin reiterated Tuesday that the Steelers are doing their "due diligence" on all free agents, and that includes the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback who served nearly two years in prison for his part in running an illegal dog-fighting ring.In short, Tomlin didn't rule out the Steelers having interest in Vick despite being given a second chance to do so since training camp start."If people are capable of helping us win, we're going to have a level of interest in those guys," Tomlin said yesterday at a news conference at St. Vincent. "I'm never going to discuss free agents individually. I don't think that's appropriate. I think that that conversation could be endless. When this first broke nearly two years ago, Portis was one of the ones that said he'd taken part in dog fights. He made it sound like it was a fairly normal occurance for him.

WRONG. He supported Vick, but never said he took part in dog fights. But Mike Irvin does coke.
 
wow Vick is a FA in our dynasty league, wonder where he goes in a rookie/FA draft...guess it'll depend on the outcome of all of this nonsense

Portis rationalized what Vick had done, along the lines of "it's just dogs", but he never said he'd taken part, and I've never heard anyone else say that he had.And BTW, as to the first post here, what "pull" does Portis have over Zorn? Wasn't Zorn the guy who'd supposedly caused the riff last year with Portis by publicly criticizing him? There's an awful lot of fiction caused by anti-Redskins sentiment in this thread.

SORRY. I remembered hearing a quote from two years ago and have found it."You want to hunt down Mike Vick over fighting some dogs?," Portis told the television station. "I think people should mind their own business."

Portis said that dog fighting is more common than people think.

"I know a lot of back roads that have the dog fighting if you want to go see it," he said.

"In the recent interview I gave concerning dog fighting, I want to make it clear I do not take part in dog fighting or condone dog fighting in any manner."

I, and I'm sure others, could have made the assumption that if he knew of "a lot of back roads that have the dog fighting", he may have attended. Attendance to me is taking part. But hey, I love dogs.

That's a big leap IMO. I knew a lot of people who sold drugs in college (including a roommate) but I never took part. Just because you know where the trouble is doesn't mean you are party to it.

Vick's - average completion rate for 3 yrs between 2004-2006 is 55 percent, averaged 155 yards a game with 1 300 yard game, that's right 1 game in 3 yrs. Averaged 16 passing TD's to 13 intsRushing averaged 55 yards a game, with under 4 rushing TD's.Campbell with last year, first 16 game year as a starter. Completed 62 percent of his passes, had two 300 yard games, 13 TD's to 6 INT's, rushed for an average 16 yards per game.What is it exactly that Vick is supposed to do, rush for 45 yards more a Game and complete 7 percent less passes. I doubt that Vick is even as quick as before . Campbell had a great first half last season. Due to a myriad of problems with the skins during the second half of the season Campbell and the Skins fell apart.This will be Campbell's first consecutive year with the same offensive system, I'll wager that he will do just fine.I'm not being snarky, I just dont see the advantage to Having Vick over Campbell, but full disclosure I would have never had Vick as an NFL QB, a slash type once in a while maybe, but Vick never even made it into Kordell Stewart's Jock as a QB.

lol - me too on the Snyder dislike. He means well enough but between Snyder and Cerrato everything they touch turns to poop.
