Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (4 Viewers)

Been spending time between Bulletstorm and Trine 2 while I wait for Diablo 3. I would highly recommend Trine or Trine 2 to anyone.
I didn't realize you purchased Trine 2 yet. Would you have time to play co-op anytime soon if I purchased it? I've been really bored lately. I'm dying to find something new to play.
Let me help you out
I thought about getting Gears 3 the other day. I saw it for $19.99.

You bet. If I am available, it would be fun.

Mass Effect 3 is on sale at Amazon today for $29.99 so I think I'm going to finally pick that up.

Also considering getting Deus Ex, that's on sale for $9.99 with Amazon Download. Has anyone ever bought stuff through amazon download before? Any issues? I've never downloaded a game before through steam or amazon, but can't beat that price.
That's funny to me.

I decided to finally buy Dead Space and Dead Space 2 on Steam since they were both $5 each. The PC controls for Dead Space is horrendous and sluggish. Was it like that on the consoles? I may try playing it next time with my XBox 360 controller. Interesting story so far, but I don't want to fight the controls to keep playing.

More than a few of us in this thread consider it a Top 5. Probably my fav and on the consoles it had the standard shooter button layout.

I'll certainly stick with it to see if I get used to it. Maybe I can tweak the settings to see if that helps.

PC controls are god awful. I picked it up for cheap too but the console controller layout is way easier to use and more intuitive. The PC I have to play on the easiest difficulty just to not get slaughtered for turning too slowly. Takes away a lot from the game for me.

After some serious debate I purchased Witcher 2.

So far so good. The cut scenes and story have blown me away. Even my wife couldn't look away and she hates games.

Im playing Infinity Blade 2 on the ipad. Ive never played these ganes before. Is ut really the same level repeated over again just with new bosses? Or eventually is there a new setting? Ive killed who i thought was the main boss of the level and then I waje up on a table and im back to the same place again 3 years later.

I played the beta, and I just dont know... invisibility and seeing enemies through walls? It didnt have a big fun factor for me, but it was only a beta...

That YouTube vid for Ghost recon is pretty cleaver. Looks like one I might pick up. Appeals particularly well to the gun nut in alot of us

I played it today with the 360 controller and it played much better. I also tried turning of Anti-aliasing in the visual options and that fixed the regular PC sluggishness. Now, if I can figure out a way to make the game not so picky about its keybinding.

My son (12 yrs old) has really gotten in to Portal lately. He likes to play the "I'm Still Alive" song around the house. Makes me weep with joy.

The Portal 2 free DLC to create and distribute your own levels drops May 8.
When I read this the other day, I could have sworn it was already out. Too bad I stopped mapping. That would be a fun game to do it for. But it eats up sooo much of your time.

Again, Witcher 2 is amazing so far. If you like RPG's with a great story, amazing visuals, nudity, sex, gory death animations, a challenge all within a midevil setting, get this.

Funniest line of the day from the guards:

" Kill the sister ####er! "

He is now continually playing the end song around the house, singing along. Still as awesome as the first time.He has begun Portal 2.

Somebody got me a coupon for ThinkGeek, and I think I'm going to have to get this.

That is great.

Has anyone gone back and listened to all of the Cave Johnson recordings in order? While they start humorous as always, they really change to poignant and bring it all together. I remember feeling genuine sorrow at the end.

I have. There's certainly a great story there. I've even listened to the few that were cut from the game (the audio is still available in the Portal 2 files, just cut from the final gameplay).

What does the cut audio contain?

From the P0rtal 2 section at Half-Life wikia:
Several sound files of Caroline's cut dialogue can be found within the game's cache files. The unused dialogue has Caroline addressing someone as "sir" and desperately insisting that she does not want something. The precise location in Test Shaft 09 for where this dialogue was meant to be played before being cut remains unknown. An Internet rumor claims that J.K. Simmons has revealed that this was intended to be a dialogue between Caroline and Cave Johnson and that Simmons refused to record his portion of the conversation because he felt it was too much like a rape scene. Erik Wolpaw has said in an interview during GDC Online 2011 that this is simply not true. Wolpaw says, "Apparently, these are people who never saw Oz. J.K. Simmons will do anything if you pay him. But that [the rumor] is absolutely not true."

I would be curious is when that would have happened.

A really awesome deal on Steam. There's an EA Indie Bundle for $20.98. That's 6 really awesome indie titles for 70% off the regular prices if purchased as a bundle. The bundle includes Deathspank, Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue, Gatling Gears, Shank, Shank 2 and Warp. Every one of these titles are good games. The price would be good enough just for the Deathspanks (which are Diablo clones w/ humor), but you also get the others too. Spank is a really good action game. Don't miss out. It ends on May 9th.

Also Dustforce (which looks pretty good, in a Super Meat Boy way) is only $4.99 (50% off) and Bastion is $5.99 (60% off) until tomorrow, err today May 3rd, as a Steam mid-week deal.

If D3 weren't a week away, I would be all over Deathspank. But it is.

I liked the beta. But it was no D2. This is my fear.

So I finally got a bunch of stuff done Ineeded too.

When is the PC band getting back together and what are we playing :)

:bag:

Wow, 'Brink' might be the worst game I've played on 360. Just terrible.

There are some cool ideas with customization and things, but the gameplay is just bad.

Returning it to Gamestop imo.

That one would have been better as a free to play game where you buy upgrades if you want them.

I also purchased the indie bundle, since I had only played a bit of Deathspank. I want to say that Warp is phenomenal. I'm sorry I missed that until now. It came out a couple of months ago and is also on XBLA and PSN.

Dishonored looking very tasty. My only fear is that they will fall into the inevitable trap of making the game too open.http://kotaku.com/5909204/players-enter-dishonoreds-neo+victorian-steampunk-society-october-9Oh, and I saw someone say they saw Gears 3 for $20. You can get it from Gamefly for $18 and free shipping.
Read the "18 things you should know..." article. Sounds pretty fun.

yup, but that is also what makes me afraid. "Many ways to achieve the same thing" often equals "does a bunch of things ok, and nothing well."However, one can hope that THIS TIME will be different.

Bought Alan Wake on Steam (it was on sale) and it looks ok but you can tell it is a console port. The graphics are top notch but the camera angles are just "off" and you combat with the aiming system is a mess. The story is very top notch.

this is probably a flameable statement, but I'm just not very stoked about Diablo 3.

I enjoyed the first one, but at the time there wasn't anything like it. Now the concept doesn't thrill me as much as it did.
