Oh.The thing in his head is shrapnel from his injuries. It grows bigger the more enemies you kill.
If it doesn't make sense, its Hideo Kojima and you need to stop trying to make it make sense. If you need a reminder, here.Oh.The thing in his head is shrapnel from his injuries. It grows bigger the more enemies you kill.![]()
I was about to say that makes no sense, but actually it makes total sense considering that this is a Kojima game.

Indeed - I have never had so much fun scouting a base and looking for a way in / tagging guards, etc. The game definitely encourages you to take your time, look at it from multiple vantage points, and tag as many enemies as you can. It helps that the controls are really good, and the stealth mechanics work well (and are fair).Story and quirkiness aside, the important thing is that the gameplay is fantastic. Reconning a base for the first time and figuring out how to get into is surprisingly challenging for an open-world game, and you feel like a superhero when you go back later for a side mission or something and just stroll in and out like it's no big thing.
I'm on the first mission after the prologue and I don't know what you're talking about. What is Fultoning and do these evil bad guy soldiers each have a background on whether or not they are good people who should be spared? You should be fultoning a ####load of enemy soldiers and keeping the good ones. Shooting everybody is basically shooting yourself in the foot. Later you can upgrade your binocs to tell whther or not the soldiers you tag are any good so you can kill the bad ones then.
You're probably not there yet but its coming up. There's a whole side part of this game where you have a base and need to recruit soldiers to run it. They do things like research better weapons or make your horse look like an anime. The Fulton System is the device used to "extract" knocked out enemy soldiers to convert to work on developing your base. So get used to using your tranq gun a lot.Borden said:I'm on the first mission after the prologue and I don't know what you're talking about. Was it a MP beta? What's new/different for last year?Played COD3 beta on the One. Looking forward to release.![]()
That's just how I felt with that game. I gave it up pretty quickly.I may have finally gotten to the point where games have passed me by. I finally decided to give Witcher 2 a shot and in the tutorial, it has you hitting eighteen different buttons to cast spells that have no intuitive meaning (cast doofus to a fire spell and vajajay for a shield). No thanks.

I would go right to 3.On the past few who didn't like Witcher 2, is 3 that much different?
I've been sitting on #2 for awhile after I got it free on Games with Gold. I intended on playing it and then picking up the Witcher 3 at a later point. If 2 sucks though, I might just pass.
Check out Mad Cow's Gaming PC on a budget. They aren't that hard to build and might be a fun thing to do with your kid.Any advice on a steam machine one way or the other? My kid is big time into PC gaming right now and is looking at the Alienware Alpha amongst other things but I've been trying to help him. I have 0 PC knowledge but know that an all in one regular PC made for regular house hold use is not the way to go. Any reccomendations greatly appreciated.
2 is great in its own right if you can get through the control issues that others have mentioned (though the controls never bothered me FWIW)On the past few who didn't like Witcher 2, is 3 that much different?

black dotting this for home.Threw together a simple worksheet to use while building a PC. Depending on the age of your kid, could be a good exercise in organizing a project, shopping around, weighing costs and benefits etc. Mandatory components are bolded

One of the issues I have is that in an RPG I want the skill of my character to dictate the outcome of the fight, not my skill at manipulating a keyboard. That's what I like about turn based or at least the KOTOR/Dragon Age style of combat.2 is great in its own right if you can get through the control issues that others have mentioned (though the controls never bothered me FWIW)On the past few who didn't like Witcher 2, is 3 that much different?

I am not sure if they are talking console or PC but on the PC there are a lot of possible actions that you can take in real time combat. You honestly don't need to use more than two during any given combat, however once you get comfortable using the various options it's just so much fun to mix it up. It really is one of my favorite RPGs of all time (for now) easily up with the best Mass Effect has to offer IMO.Weird that Ive never even heard of these control issues in Witcher 2 and the game has been out for quite a long time.
.They don't give a crap about console gamers either, trust me. BF3 on PS3 didn't have a workable team communication ability for the first like 9 months. Why would I want to play a game like BF and not be able to talk with my squad/team?That's kind of a deal breaker for PC and really unfortunate. That would seem to make it the death knell of DICE giving a crap about pc gamers.I don't remember if someone created a thread for Battlefront already or not, but I'll put this here.
Star Wars: Battlefront won't have a server browser, instead opting for matchmaking system.![]()

And BF4 was a nightmare for playing with friends. You couldn't even squad up with your friends to jump into a server together and good luck getting into a server with your friends on the same team.
What was incredible was that not one single review of BF4 mentioned that it was virtually impossible to play on the same team as your friends. So we bought the game on release only to start it up and be completely confused trying to figure out how to get into a match together. Only after several hours when comments started popping up on the internet did it become clear that Dice had made a multiplayer game where coop is crucial while leaving out the ability to actually play with people you know.
Star Wars Battlefront 3 looks cool, but I'll be waiting a few weeks to see if any game killing features like that are included in the console versions.
Not sure what happened, but DICE just sucks as a developer all around now IMO.

I couldn't tell you what was happening in the story of the MS games I have played. So this is "BUY" for me it seems. You need not have played any other MG game. And even if you have, I'm hearing the story makes little sense.
That doesn't matter. You're a bad### soldier, you have a base / private army to (re)build, and awesomely-fun, stealthy missions to complete which get the job done. That's all the story you need.
If you like action / stealth, you will love this game. It's complex, but not really. It's hard, but not really. It has some solid mechanics that make stealth gameplay really fun, but if you mess up (and you will) the transition to "OMG firefight" is seamless and both frantic and manageable at the same time. The first hour is forced and on rails, but once it opens up, it's addicting and fun.
Game of the Year, so far.
Yes. I understand the story only vaguely, but the story really doesn't matter when the gameplay is this good.I couldn't tell you what was happening in the story of the MS games I have played. This is the part that really impresses me. In most games, stealth is fairly clumsy. In this one, there are no clunky "sticking" to cover issues - you just automatically use cover. It's awesome.Yes. They're obviously very different games, but MGS5 and Bloodborne both absolutely nail the gameplay that they're going for -- all of the core mechanics feel completely natural and just work. Not a coincidence that they're going to clean up on GOTY awards (with Fallout on deck of course).
I agree 100%. This game is just a joy to play, which is not usually the case for stealth games. My only complaint is that the checkpointing is pretty punitive, but I don't know how I would improve on it without making the game too easy. This is the part that really impresses me. it must be really tricky to code that (or require some serious computing power), because this is exactly how I always *wanted* stealth to work.
