Video games...what ya playing? And what are you looking forward to? (4 Viewers)

I'll tell ya what, that stand alone Gwent game cannot come out soon enough. I completely understand those who said Gwent became their favorite part of the game.

Have you played the public beta at all?  People have been playing this on twitch for almost a year now.

That's still not released, really seems like they missed the window with that one.

for an unreleased game, it gets a lot of attention.  They have already run world wide tournaments on this game and has a healthy community already built up.

Kripp has even started playing it which has raised its profile to upper regions of twitch when he plays.

A public what-now?

This is going to be one of those pay-to-play microtransaction games, isn't it?
I don't play it but it looks to be configured similar to Hearthstone where it is free to play, but to keep up you need to play a lot.  If you don't play a lot, and/or you want to play a variety of decks, you will have to purchase packs.

The micro transactions should be minimal, but buying card packs can add up quickly.

Anyone playing Far Cry 5?  I really loved Fc3 and 4; this one has been getting mixed reviews but sounds awesome and fun.

Just started Uncharted Legacy last night after finishing 70+ hour runthrough of Horizon Zero Dawn.

No, but I’m tempted. Here’s the thing though, I think I’d probably get just as much enjoyment by replaying FC3. I loved that game, then bought 4 and it was exactly the same. I’m sure this one is as well.

Really excited to play it as I enjoyed 3 and 4, though as last poster said, pretty much same game, just different story/setting, but I wouldn't call that a bad thing necessarily.  That being said, not an opening weeks buy for me, i'll wait 6 months to a year on it and pick it up for $19.

I need to start up HZD, just haven't been able to kick myself to start it, I did another run-through of MGS:5 instead.

Here's another tech issue/question I have, wondering if anyone else has run into this with a solution.

Video game room, two TVs with two Xbox Ones.  One Xbox Live paid account, with each kid with their own sub account.  Sometimes they will try to play online (same issue with mutiple games, Fortnite, COD, etc).  They are each one their own TV signed in as themselves and join a party to play as a group.  They will each have a headset on, but only one of them can talk.  They can both hear the entire party, but one of them will not be able to speak and have the party hear them.  We've tried different headsets, and swapped the headsets back and forth.  I can't figure out how to get them both so they can speak at the same time.

I'm curious.  Trying to decide between HZD and FC5 for the upcoming holiday week.  Anyone want to chime in with an opinion?  Thanks.

Stay far away from Gwent from all I've heard. Unbalanced, terrible ladder system, repetitive games.

Most wizard poker  players I know are anxiously awaiting Artifact instead (upcoming Valve card game) and they've already announced a 1 million dollar tournament for the winter.

I can't wait.

In order to connect two Taskforce for Xbox One headsets to one Xbox One console, you will also require the following:

- Two Xbox One controllers (one for each player).

- Two separate paid Xbox Live Gold accounts/Gamertags. One account cannot be shared, and this will not work with "guest" or un-paid accounts.

Don't think it will work.  There may be a way to add something in the middle to split it, but may be more expensive than another xbox live account.

Regarding Far Cry 5 I strongly suggest waiting and letting it run in the wild for a little while.  I wouldn't move on it until after the first major patch, and there will be a major patch, at the earliest.

My advice is to go with HZD. It already has DLC, most issues have been patched (unlike FC5, as Chaka pointed out), and it should be reasonably cheap compared to a brand new game. And this is coming from someone who is excited about playing FC5. But keep in mind I subscribe to r/patientgamers, so YMMV.

Downloaded a mobile app for like $6 called Guild of Dungeoneering.  Super fun and really funny.  If you're looking for a time waster and don't mind spending a few dollars, check it out.

Played this game hard for a short while a couple years ago.  Very simple, yet aggravating at times.  Good time, all in all.

PUBG on the iPhone is kind of fun.
Yeah I’ve played it some on the iPad and they really did a good job with it. It actually plays better than my XB1 version. I’ve heard that there are some bots in the game and that not all 100 are live. That said, I’ve won two games and on my second win, the guy I killed to win was “IH8Jews” so I’m going to guess that wasn’t an approved bot.

I caved and got Fortnite.  I have over 500 hours of PUBG in me right now so I have to really unlearn that game to play Fortnite.

Anyway, I have a discord for games if people want to try and get together and play.

Far Cry 5 looks really good, but I have a rule with Ubisoft games that I never buy at full price.  I'll pick up a discounted version in a few months, after I'm done with Dark Souls.

Never played one either and started 5 today and I LOVE IT.
I’ve played 2, 3, and 4. They were all the same exact game but progressively better looking.

Despite writing the franchise off I’m intrigued by the new one, specifically the Vietnam and arcade modes.
I have not played those modes yet, but I have spent about 8 hours in the campaign - I love it.

It's different from 2/3/4 (3 and 4 were prettumuch the exact same game). The exploring is far more organic - no more climbing towers to unlock areas and fill the map with icons. This is much more Skyrim-like in that you explore the map to find things, and, once you leave the first small island, the entire map is open to you. It's really fun to walk/drive around and explore. Thankfully, there's no more hunting to craft items. The progression / perk system now relies on doing things to earn perk points. There are a ton of "challenges" that once you meet them, you get the amount of perk points they are worth (for example, kill 10 people with a pistol - that's two perk points.. Kill 40 with an assault rifle - two more. Ten stealth kills - there's more. Kill three deer - there's another. And so on. Each challenge is one-time only, so you can't keep earning them over and over.)  Basically, this encourages you to use all of the weapons, and at least experiment with different styles.

It looks like there are some cool sandbox things, like the arcade and user-made levels. I have not dived into that at all yet, but am looking forward to doing so. I also noticed a neat "reset outposts", which repopulates outposts if you want to re-take them. There are also real sidequests now, and some puzzle areas (prepper stashes) that are fun to do.

They basically kept all of the good that you expect from Far Cry (combat is fun / it's a little goofy, but not overly so), but changed enough that this feels really fresh (much better than the 3 to 4 jump, which was minimal). AI can still be a bit dumb, but that's Far Cry.

Bottom line: It's different enough from 3/4 to make it feel like a new game. I feel it's well worth $60, so if you were on the fence, I'd say go ahead and buy it.

Been playing the #### out of Sea of Thieves on Xbox and enjoying the hell out of it when I have a good full crew to sail with.

Finished ME: Andromeda. I got sucked in. Not 100% completion or anything, but I finished most the side missions. I never really read about the complaints with this game, but I certainly enjoyed it.

Since when you been playing it? That feeling will wear off quick. I think until they add more content, moderation is key to this game.

My youngest and I set sail the other day for the first time. We completed a quest to catch some chickens. Not realizing we needed to bring freaking cages with us! Luckily we didn’t run into any other ships yet since we’re still getting the hang of the  ship controls.

I enjoyed it also. I think some of the initial issues were really bad. A AAA game mfg should not need mass complaints to fix their animation.

it didn't have the spark that me2 and 3 had, but like any new show it takes some time to develop characters and get the story going. I do think it has promise for a sequel if EA decides to pick it back up in a couple years. They could definitely improve on some flaws and build some good characters on it.
