Vikes ? Eagles (1 Viewer)

I think you guys are missing the point of a cancellation, they are worried about people getting too and from the game, plus word is there will be a state of emergency issued to keep people off roads so crews can get them clear for work tomorrow.

outside of football, it makes sense.

Rotoworld reporting the game has been postponed until Tuesday.
Wow that sucks. I hope we get the let's cancel the game card thrown out there all the time now.
Tuesday, and then the Eagles get a really short week to prepare for next week? That doesn't seem fair from a competitive standpoint.
If that's what they do, it's not confirmed. I wouldn't be surprised if they made it to some dome by tomorrow night. If it is Tuesday, you're right at some point during that night if they're up some points, then they'd more than likely give their players some rest due to the extremely short week.

I have to agree with those who are posting that our society seems to be getting more and more afraid of things that years ago, we would not have thought twice about doing. Seriously, I know it is a whole heckuva lot of snow and wind, but what the heck? State of emergency? Curfews? What in the world? Something is terribly wrong with the back bone of our society any more. We are being whimpified and sissified. Pathetic country of pansies any more.

This game needs to be postponed! 40mph winds and 30 inches of snow.

Get some perspective people! Think of the KIDS! .....and Vick owners

Perfect football weather!:

TODAY:

Snow...mainly this afternoon. Snow may be heavy at times this afternoon. Snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches. Brisk with highs in the lower 30s. North winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

TONIGHT:

Periods of snow. Blowing snow. Snow may be heavy at times. Total snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches. Windy with lows around 20. Northwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

Full disclosure....I'm playing against Vick this week.

I don't know jack about how Philly deals with snow. But if there are people already there and if the city truly does have public transportation that takes you right to the stadium then they need to play the game. This seems to be more about the Eagles not wanting a half empty stadium. Additionally, it's really unfair for the Vikings to have to deal with this for the third time and I'm sure the Eagles don't want a short week next week either. You can play the game and Eagles fans can watch it on TV like the rest of America. Or is it unsafe for football players to play in snow now as well?

litigation risk.

My house better fall down tonight, in this end of the world storm that hits tonight. Cancel the world, it's snowing.

Man, I was hoping Vick would have to play in a blizzard, as I am facing him.

But I don't think this was a bad move by the NFL. 10-20 inches apparently and, most importantly, Philadelphia has declared an emergency. Meaning there will be no one on the roads, and no one in the seats.

I'd be shocked if they did. Sunday night football, in the snow, Michael Vick = great TV ratings.
I'd be shocked if they didn't postpone it. The mere fact that they admit they are discussing it shows that they are looking for alternatives. This game will be postponed, guaranteed.
I diagree, I don't think they should postpone. It is the elements, it was bad in Minny last week yet they had that game.
this is different than the weather in Minny. Mayor is telling people to stay at home. While it was snowing in Minny last week this was no "major' storm, shutting down the city like it will in Philly.-

Better get your facts straight.... NFL decides this, not the Eagles.....

I also read that Thunder is also forecasted.. Plus someone on twitter said NBC was having problems with signals, so it may not have even been televised...

Not a Goodell fan, but he is right in this one.

You nailed it... this is a main contributor of what seems to be wrong with the country.

Eagles, NFL, whoever gets $$ from having a full stadium as opposed to an empty one. Is that better?

so if the storm track shifts, and Philly gets 3-6 inches, there will be some 'splainin to do..

ESPN still confirming cancellation, BTW.

No way should this game be cancelled... mass panic over snow.. unreal.. :pickle:

here's the deal, the league has played games in bad weather. they have played in blizzards before. when is weather enough to cancel a game and what kind of advantage do teams get? why do the bears and patriots play in a snowstorm, but this game cant be? seems random weather cancellations disrupt the competitive balance. what differentiates football and baseball is that football plays in bad weather. thursday games are bad enough, but now tuesday? so now i need to listen for weather and postponements? day night double headers?

pathetic

I worked in Wisconsin for 30 years and my place of employment NEVER closed because of snow. NEVER!This country has become a bunch of babies.

WTF!! Tuesday! So now they get 4 days to prepare for the cowboys?? Which could be a very important game for the #2 seed. Wow this is complete bull####. NFL should be ashamed of themselves.

This isn't about the game, it's about the families and employees traveling to the game. You all need to gain some perspective.

Still no official announcement.. considering the parking lots are already full of tailgaters, this is monumentally stupid, especially since there are train stations at the stadium.. idiots..

Would they do this in Buffalo? Hell no..
