Vikings Cap hit for trading Culpepper? (1 Viewer)

Any Vikings homers out there have any idea how much prorated bonus money was accelerated and realized from Culpepper's contract with the Miami trade?

I know the Vikings have plenty of room, but just wondering what type of hit they took. Many on the Chargers board are criticizing AJ Smith for not signing Drew Brees to a deal and then trading him w/o realizing the cap hit the Chargers would have taken had they done so.

So while the Vikings got a 2nd rounder for C-Pepp while the Chargers got no direct compensation (they do stand to get a compensation pick from the NFL depending on what they do the remainder of this offseason), at least the Chargers didn't take a huge cap hit.

Is C-Pepp's 2006 Viking cap $ big?

I finally figured out that A.J.'s plan is to as few FA's as possible and get a 3rd or 4th round pick in compensation next year.

Not off the top of my head, I will keep a look out for any specific numbers. However, I believe the 6 million roster bonus due Culpepper later this month was in lieu of some portion of the signing bonus when the contract was signed.
