Vikings Kevin Williams, Harris banged up 2006-10-31 20:00EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -The Minnesota Vikings bruised more than their egos in Monday night's thumping at the hands of New England.Middle linebacker Napoleon Harris dislocated his wrist and was put in a cast, and defensive tackle Kevin Williams played most of the 31-7 loss with a high ankle sprain, Vikings coach Brad Childress said Tuesday.Center Matt Birk had a hyperextended knee, and defensive tackle Pat Williams had some ``moderate swelling'' in his knee.Childress didn't give a forecast on any of the players' chances to play Sunday at San Francisco, saying he would have a better idea Wednesday. If Harris can't play, Childress said strong side linebacker Ben Leber could slide over or backup Dontarrious Thomas could get the start.Wide receiver Marcus Robinson, who leads the team in touchdowns, missed the Patriots game with a back injury and is still recovering.``Hard to tell, hard to tell,'' Childress said of Robinson's status. ``I know he's in there treating right now, and we'll just see what his comfort level is as well.''
Despite facing the #1 run defense in football I think Gore has a monster game. With his entire offensive line back, playing at home, against a banged up defense playing on short rest.21 rushes, 129 yds, 1 TD4 rec, 26 yds

My god I hope you're right... Pat Williams being out for Minny would be huge...that SF O-line would have a better chance of at least chipping the LBs then... fingers crossed

I think just being at home is a big help to the entire SF offense. Alex Smith has played great at home.

If Gore can bust off long runs against Chicago (who were, before this past week, giving up the fewest FPs to RBs), he can do it against Minn.

I hope, however, that they stuff him often enough and early enough that ASmith tosses the ball 45 times.

I am starting both ASmith and the Vikes in my big money league, we only penalize INTs -1, and defenses are not rewarded for low yardage/scoring, except shutouts (lame, I know - a good D week is anything over 8 points).

I really can't lose in that scenario unless Gore is able to run effectively, allowing the 9ers to try and control the clock and minimize turnovers by keeping the ball out of the air. Don't see it, though. The back to have in this game is Chester Taylor - 9ers are one of the top-3 defenses in FP given up to RBs.

I really see a bit of a shootout game in terms of scoring.

SF unpredictably comes up big at home, IMO, and the game is one of those 37-31 type games.
