Vikings LBs (1 Viewer)

I've been waiting to hear more about the loss of Greenway would shake up the Vikings' LB corps, but I haven't heard much. Is is still Harris at MLB, Henderson at WLB, and Leber at SLB? Where does Dontarrious Thomas fit into this? Norton is projecting his stats as if he were a starter, but I'm wondering if he's the odd-man out. I'd love to hear the rationale for Norton giving him 67 solos and 22 assists.

A flood of good Vikings notes from reg in this thread.

I think it's becoming clear that Napoleon Harris is more comfortable in the middle than he's been before, but I've read speculation that Dontarrious Thomas is progressing well and may have an impact in nickel packages. Only speculation, though.

As of now:

WLB - EJ

MLB - Harris

SLB - Leber

Heath Farwell has played amazing in preseason games and will be the backup to EJ from what I have read/heard.

DT and Rod Davis will be backing up the other two slots. I am not positive on who plays nickel packages.

Actually, I covered this in the Eyes of the Guru update :) I projected Thomas and Harris to share the MLB position. Harris (58 solo projected) on early downs and Thomas in passing situations. Thomas is the best pass defending LB left on the roster. In the nickel it will likely be Henderson and Thomas and in the dime I expect Thomas to get the call. Harris doesn't impress me at all and there is speculation that Thomas could replace him on a full time basis. I didn't project either of them as a full time player and would advise that fantasy owners lay off them both until this all washes out.

Hmm, thanks. That helps, and I guess I need to go read Eyes of the Guru, which I had forgotten about. The situation is of interest to me because I play in a 32-team IDP league where your projections for DT would make him an every-week starter. 67/22 represents solid LB3 numbers in that league, and we start 3. I have Joey Porter as LB4 and D.Thomas as LB5, and I'm trying to figure out what kind of trade value I have. (Kawika Mitchell, Foote, and Derek M Smith are my starters.)
