Vikings - Season 3 (1 Viewer)

brohans who was the dude that came and went back in the hometown i did not really understand that bromigos

I don't think this season (so far) has been as good as the previous ones.

I did enjoy Ragnar telling the prince he didn't like him. Ragnar is a great character, they haven't been spending enough time with him this season.

Bjorn's woman got really messed up. I was cringing during that scene where she didn't have the bandages on.

I just figured he was supposed to be the Grim Reaper who came to town and then left after Siggy was killed.

I enjoyed Lagertha telling Ecbert that the only person he loved was himself.

That was good too. Gotta believe she and Ragnar are trying to play a long con here, maybe Athelstan is in on it too.

been saying it all season - if you weigh 80 pounds you really shouldn't be a shield-maiden.The show's got way too many story lines going on this year. At least we have one less with Rollo's wife sinking to the bottom of the lake.

I agree with the story lines. The show doesn't have the writing or the acting to maintain them all.

Do you think you're a good man?

Yes, I think so.

Are you? A good man?

Yes, I think so.

Are you corrupt?

Ohh yesss.

Are you?

Mmmhmm.

So did the english chic piss on ragnars wound??? Or rub her magic lady parts on it???
Also wasn't sure if she peed on him or smeared the special salve all over the wound?

I doubt there was any smearing. I don't imagine the women of the Middle Ages did all that much grooming in the nether regions. So any type of smearing there would have probably felt like a brillo pad on an open wound. :fro:

Everyone pouring their cup of wine to the floor was amusing.

When the English chic was rubbing herself on Ragnar after she peed on him, I was imaging all the STDs she was transferring to him.

So, we have Ragnor banging a future queen. Ecbert banging Ragnor's ex. Ragnar's current banging some mystery dude. And Ragnar's personal priest banging Ecbert's son's wife.

Good stuff.

Definitely getting a soap opera feel to it all.

They juxtaposed all that with the conversations in England where the Vikings were explaining that their gods walked among them as men. I thought the traveler was supposed to be a manifestation of Odin or something but I too felt like I got a little lost during that storyline.

yeah but right from the start everyone was sleeping with everyone even ragnar asking if other people wanted to sleep with him and his women and stuff so i think this is just how they are saying it was back in the day bromigos

Didn't see that coming.
 figured it was only a matter of time.. was sorta hoping that Floki would have met his dismise also. I've grown tired of his constant whining.
Figured it was only a matter of time before an attempt was made, and Floki was the likely aggressor. Was mildly surprised that it was succesful and that (apparently) Floki got away clean.

Was more surprised by Ragnar killing the farmer to keep it from becoming public knowledge how the English King backstabbed them.

My understanding of the traveler was that he was one of the Viking Gods.

I thought Athelstan would become Guthrum, who in history was a Viking who converted to Christianity that fought with Ragnars sons against King Alfred the Great.

Floki can suck it

"Forgive not my sins but forgive me for what I am about to do" - Ragnar pretends to be Christian in order to find the defenses and attack Paris?

Just caught up on the last two episodes. Hate to say it, but they've really #### the bed this season. This thing is all over the place and none of it is very compelling, which is a shame because some of the stuff (not the religious b.s.) is interesting ground to cover. I mean, they're about to sack Paris and I'm  with how they've treated it. They've turned Ragnar into a supporting character - why do they need the idiotic jarl Kaff subplot for instance. They also seem to have run out of quality actors, this new French contingent sucks, particularly the King. And what's with Count Odo's wig? That thing is awful, even by dark ages standards.

I'm more upset and how they have deviated from actual history. Its on the damn history channel!!!
When you center the show on a (very likely) fictitious character, you're probably not going to get a ton of accurate history.

1 hour battle. Yet none of the main characters get killed.

More importantly, how would we approach the Lagertha proposition if she posed it to us? I'd probably pull a Kaff.

The exceptionally crummy writing and plots this season make me want to split the writers' heads open with an axe. They finally get the production budget to do pretty large scale battles and the vapidity and disjointedness of the story make them somehow boring.

So the culmination of the last 4 years is a baptism? That's how Ragnar goes out. Horrible.

They should have just renamed this season "Vikings: I love you man II - Ragnar and Athelstan are friends."

Also, why does each Frankish character have their own unique accent? So annoying and distracting.

There's really no way to redeem this season. An hour long season finale consisting solely of a 3 way between Largertha, Judith and Crazy Queen of Mercia would only get them about half way there at this point.

I liked the paris invasion battle.

Someone big is going to die, looks like Ragnar with the internal injuries is it.

Liked the big spiked rolling wheel that came down the tunnel.

The Impaled just went round and round - most still alive.

French Princess is super hot. Notch below Lagertha and Ziggy. Step up from the English Queen and Ragnars current ol lady.

This season definitely feels rushed. Battle scenes are 10 times better than the previous two seasons, though.

They have ruined Flokis character.

Still enjoy watching, though.

Ragnar's going to make the French agree to bury him inside Paris, fake his own death and then open up the city for the Vikings - right?

WTF was the point of The Wanderer who acted as interpreter? They going after the LGBT community there? "We're different!"

And the "Hold my hair" comment had me suspecting a trick the whole time.

Is Ragnar suffering from internal injuries or The Plague?

Looked like some of the villagers in Paris lying in the streets were dying from sort of disease. Maybe just hunger???

Seems like internal injuries with Ragnar. I think the Parisians are starving for the most part.

Pretty sure its internal injuries from when he fell off a ladder contraption - hit off the wall and landed on his back iirc. Hasn't been right since. Didn't they show him pissing blood?
