Vikings sign WR Dez White

The Minnesota Vikings signed veteran receiver Dez White on Thursday, further adding to an already
crowded receiving corps.
White, a six-year veteran out of Georgia Tech, had just two catches for 25 yards and one touchdown for the Atlanta Falcons last year before being placed on injured reserve in December with a sprained knee.
Even before that, White had lost his starting position and played sparingly for the Falcons.
He comes to a team that is heavy on receivers, yet light on proven commodities. The Vikings now have 11 receivers on the roster as they prepare to open training camp on the campus of Minnesota
State University in Mankato.
Koren Robinson, Marcus Robinson, Travis Taylor and Troy Williamson currently are at the top of the depth chart.
"I'm all for competition," coach Brad Childress said. "You can't have too many good players."
White spent his first four seasons in the league with the Chicago Bears before going to Atlanta for the past two.
He had his best season in 2002 with Chicago, when he started 14 games and had 51 catches for 656 yards and four touchdowns.
