Childress said he intends to use Chester Taylor more down the stretch to help reduce the wear and tear on Peterson.

"We've got two guys to keep us fresh," Peterson said. "When I'm not in there pounding the ball, he's in there pounding the ball. It really wears down the defense."

It's better for everyone for Peterson to lose 3-7 carries a week and stay healthy than to have to miss a week or more due to injury.

I feel the goal is for Peterson to get the rushing title. The fact that he was still in late in last week's game is a solid indicator of that fact. Once Peterson has a nice cushion of yards, Chester's role will start to increase signficantly. Peterson's currently at 1311, with Portis at 1228 and Turner at 1208. I think once Peterson has about a 150 yard cushion over Portis, then Taylor will start to factor in much more.

No suprise that this would come out this week. Chester will get more carries this week. The Vikings could rush the ball 45 times if they want to against the Lions D. When they are playing Atl and Ari they will run Peterson into the ground if the need to to win. Then again they did sit him late against TB for no good reason.
