Vikings vs. Ravens (1 Viewer)

Please post any and all comments of what you see.

I cannot get the game here in North Carolina.

I am particularly interested in how the Oline does, Troy Williamson and the defense.

Oline still looks pretty poor and confused. Taylor looks OK at best...but if this line gets it figured out, he's got potential, and gets PLENTY of touches.Williamson, still has some confusion in his routes, but I think could thrive in this type of offense.Defense is looking stellar.....honestly.

Fason was hurt in the first quarter - bruised shoulder. Out for the game.
I hate both Minn backup RB's. They cant seem to stay on the field. Moore has starting talent. Just not much else. Cant stay healthy, dont think he learns quick enough, or has proper motivation. A mix of all. Blah. Minn RB handcuff seems to be whoever can stay on the field. Im suprised Travis Taylor dropped those balls. I hope its the QBs fault. Taylor is seasoned but I guess those drops are why he hasnt been starting. How does the Minn Defensive Ends look, in James and Udeze? How's Jamal Lewis looking? I dont get that game here.

No, that's why he has sucked for several years.

Watched the first half, flipping back and forth to Pit/Phi. Some thoughts, and I' a Balt fan:

Baltimore looks lethargic on both sides of the ball. D isn't playing as nearly as well as it has this pre-season.

for Minn,

QB Johnson looks good, like he would be a very serviceable 2nd QB or a 1st stinger-committee guy to rotate based on match-ups

TRAVISTaylor has dropped a few catchable passes, one over the middle he just refused to catch because a defender was closing head-on

CTaylor didn't look too great and the Oline wasn't getting much push (Oline did pass protect well)

Johnson looked to Robinson in endzone, no other deep passes or redzone targets to WRs

Vikings Dline has looked very good, CB Smoot jumped a route and returned a pick for TD...this D looks good

Fason injured, not sure seriousness

for Balt,

No surprise Heap got some looks and caught everything I saw thrown to him

McNair looked okay, not as good as last game...looks like he's spreading it around more

OLINE looks like crap, not pass protecting, not openning holes for running game

Musa Smith, not much started and is coming in on passing situations

Anderson = nothing. wishes he was still running behind Denver Oline probably

Ravens D looks awful...stopping run a little, getting thrown on regularly, guys are pulling up and not making hits.

This D has had talent for a couple years now. It's wonder what good coaching can do.
Definitely have some speed and Dline looked good. I know EJHenderson LB was a touted guy from MD but didn't realize that they were that good. Of course, it could be that Ravens Oline is as suspect as most feared. I think if you rank their Oline right now it has to be a C-/D+. Not openning any holes and can't keep McNair off his back.

Is anyone else starting to get a little concerned about Chester, or is it just me?

He has looked incredibly average throughout the entire preseason.

10 carries for 27 yards tonight.

The Ravens aren't going to give up many rushing yards this season. I haven't seen Taylor play in other games, I like his value because he can catch the ball out of the backfield. Against very fast Ds like Baltimore (and Chi twice in the real season) I wouldn't expect great numbers. Taylor will be okay, though. Its a complicated new offense, I think as he gets more comfortable with it, his numbers will improve throughout the season. Be patient, he'll perform better than his ADP.

I've had the game on in the background.....

Johnson looks as good as ever... probably a decent 2

T. Jackson should be on any dynasty/keeper league radar ... should Johnson ever go down he looks like he'd be a good rookie QB .. good mobility and the kid has a good arm too ... threw a long TD down the sideline to Carter who looks to be locked as our return man. Taylor didn't do much and the run blocking wasn't anything special. The O-Line is solid on paper though and should be good this year. Taylor is a marginal 2 .. solid 3 with upside...especially in PPR. Wiggins didn't do much but is also a decent 2. I didn't see the drops but my gut tells me Taylor is the WR to have. Hoping Williamson elevates to a 1. Robinson is a deep threat but won't be a consistent scorer. Just missed a bomb TD from Johnson by inches. Couldn't get the second foot.

I was hoping to see the McNair to Mason show but it didn't materialize. The Vikes D played very well. Heap looked good.

I was at the game and the one thing I can safely say that the Metrodome is the worst building in America.

And also that the Vikings' defense is going to be better than just about anyone thinks.

Also, if the Vikings aren't interested in acquiring Deion Branch, they should be. Seein Travis Taylor alligator-arming that pass over the middle was scary. Troy Williamson looked o.k.

After that there's the 700 year old, injury prone Marcus Robinson and a bunch of nobodys.

As a fan, I wouldn't mind seeing them give up a 1st round pick for Branch if that's the cost.

It looked to me like the coaches wanted to test the Right side of the OL. They know what they have off the left side. In this game most of the early runs for Taylor were up the middle or to the right. I expect once the real season begins we will see more runs to the left to take advantage of the strength of the OL.With Moore injury prone, Fason going down tonight(albeit just a brusied Shoulder) Taylor will get at leat 20 carries a game. Also, with K.Rob out he will get more passes his way.I'm not ready to count on him as my #1 RB.. and as a #2 RB it is a stretch. But with a ADP of around late 3rd, early 4th the potential is there to be a tiny, tiny sleeper.

Chester Taylor will be fine. Like Snogger said, they ran right most of the time.

Another observation - McKinnie and Ogden are monsters of human beings.
