Young Injures Knee At PracticeStaff Report December 10, 2009Titans Quarterback Vince Young went down with a right knee injury during Thursday's practice in the bubble. Young apparently stepped on an offensive lineman during passing work against the scout team defense. He hobbled to the sideline where he lay on the ground for several minutes. Moments later, trainers took him inside Baptist Sports Park. Young returned later with ice on the knee. After practice, Head Coach Jeff Fisher said the injury was a set back related to a hit Young suffered to the same knee during Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts."He's been trying to push through practice, and he just had a little set back," Fisher said. "So we just shut him down. We will tend to him inside and see how he is tomorrow."Quarterback Kerry Collins took the remainder of Thursday's practice snaps. Fisher said Collins would be ready to step in on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams if Young could not play. However, at this point Fisher said he expected Young to be ready."At this point no, we expect that he will be able to play," Fisher said. "However, he did not finish practice."

Even if he plays, we now have to worry about whether his running ability is affected. A lot of his value in FF is because of his legs. A tasty matchup with STL now is worrisome, at the very least.

Update: Young didn't practice today and will be a GTD depending on how his knee responds.

Collins took all the snaps today in practice. I have a hard time believing Collins won't be the one under center on Sunday.

Guy on NFLN just said VY after practice when asked if he would play "Heck yea. You know me better than that."

What are you guys planning on doing if we don't hear anything new by 1:00?

I'm in a must-win game and I was gonna use Vince as a flex. But I can't risk a zero. Leaning towards Steve Smith (CAR) instead.

Who knows, though I know many in Titans org. who said Kerry was leading the walkthrough today.

This blogger sums up our feelings of Vince. It's not personal- or hating, just a weird kid.

This doesn't strike me as headcase Vince making another appearance. Not saying Mr. Hyde ain't still inside Dr. Jekyll, but all indications are he's gonna at least try to give it a go.So far as the blog, it's bunk...lotta levels to a "contusion", including a purple grapefruit of a knee you can barely walk on. You really want your gimpy scrambler of a QB starting a game when you GOTTA win out if you have a playoff shot when you should be able to beat the Rams with Kerry and a heavy dose of CJ4.24 this week?

Fantasy wise make other plans if you can...Late GTD, limited if he does go...no thankee sir.

Bummer- looking to start Alex Smith here in his place. Chris Johnson has a shot at rushing glory. Late Sunday afternoon game. A gimpy knee might just go at anytime if he starts the game. Huge implications in FF with the need for a win right now this wek or the season ends.

I like Alex Smith better this week even if Young was healthy.

I'm also considering not staring Young in favor of Campbell this week. Young was key in getting me into the playoffs but this weeks matchup is said to feature a run heavy offense and I don't see VY getting the call to run the ball with a gimpy knee. Anyone else feel the same way?

Great point something I considered heavily- AZ defense opp/passing yards per game 30th in the league- still hope that VY is going to play and keep that knee healthy in case I manage to keep the season alive!

i wonder how this effects chris johnson as the rams might be able to focus more on the run rather than worry about having a mobile qb that can scramble
