Vince young inspired a man who was in a wheelchair for 20 years to get up and dunk a basketball on a 12 foot hoop.
Vince Young actually turned water into wine just by sheer willpower.
Then just because he is an amazing role model he turned it back into water and told all the kids never to drink alcohol.
This is the classic chicken/egg argument. Do all of the VY supporters feel the need to post ridiculous born leader, courage under fire, and motivational speaker posts because they feel they have to defend VY at all costs against the severe scrutiny he has received? Or do people dish out such severe scrutiny because they find it laughable that a man who started for 2 years at texas and 10 games in the pros receives such blind praise?
I have never waivered in my position on VY. I dont think he is a very good QB. I dont think he will be. That is my opinion. I am 100% entitled to it. Even if Ten wins the rest of their games this year and wins the super bowl next year, i am still entitled to that opinion. I am sure there are lots of people who think Big Ben is not very good, and probably were maybe starting to waiver. However after this year, they may be right. TIME will still only tell.
That being said there is strong statistical evidence to support such an opinion.
There is also statistical evidence to support i might be wrong. There is no need to talk about how he "wills his team to victory" or "has a fire in his eyes that gives everybody around him more confidence".
There is also no reason to make claims about him being one of the classiest players in the league. He is 13 games in and if I recall he missed a team flight and had to have Mcnair bail him out and hook him up with a private jet.
Lets just all try to get along, because i think we can all agree, he is pretty fun to watch when he takes off running down the field. I look forward to the first VY/Vick matchup.
