Vince Young. (1 Viewer)

99 Yard drive for the gamewinning TD Pass with :00 on the clock. This is the Texas Vince Young, not the one from his rookie season.

Call me crazy, but after watching that, I'm sold that this guy can be a successful NFL QB.

I don't even know what to say.

That was unbelievable... but I don't know if I'm sold.

Of course... if that doesn't sell me... what will? Maybe a Superbowl?

He looked REALLY good today. Good decision making all day (except for the end of half).

Crazy fun game.

That was the test that everyone was talking about. He can manage the game, but can he win when they need him to throw 40 times? Evidently, yes, to the tune of 387 Yards passing.

VY's recent success kind of begs the question:

What happened in 2008? I mean privately ... how was he able to shake it off in 2009, but not in 2008? And does he have another meltdown somewhere lurking deep within his psyche? How did such a meltdown even happen the one time if Young is so good and had it so together? Is it known publicly whether or not he's been getting treatment (cf. Ricky Williams, whose Paxil prescriptions became public knowledge early in his first Miami stint)?

It's all kind of weird. Neutral here, neither a VY hater or a fan. Just never really seen someone schmidt-can their career like that, and truly come back to be successful. Dude was a hair away from intentionally Ryan-Leafing his career ... except that he had the wins that said "try me again". So

Is it possible it was just because he was..a kid? And had some maturing to do?

I think Collins took off last year and they rode him. Maybe what happen last year was overblown some.

Seemed a little over-the-top to me to simply be immaturity. Just to me personally, now. It seemed from here to be way beyond sulking at the end of the bench. Also, it seemed to come in the face of very little impetus -- he just got booed at home ... that was it? Like he was (is?) on a hair trigger, waiting to crumble.

I started VY instead of Big Ben. It was looking mediocre until the end.
Imagine what it would have looked like if you started Big Ben instead of Young.

If you look real hard at all the reports from that night and since, this really makes the most sense.

Possible. The media never did find a smoking gun that proved severe mental instability, did they? I do remember that the implications that Young had mental issues were thrown around freely.

What's fun to think about is how good that Titan's offense can be if Young really can play like this on a regular basis. They have the most explosive RB in the league and he's only in his second year.

The Titans might be absolutely terrifying for the next 10 years.

That was damn impressive today. The kid seems to have found himself and he looks so calm in the pocket nowadays.

I think he's turned the corner.

That was something to watch today, for sure.

Oh and I agree that Leinart probably has a voodoo doll of VY.
