W17 News, Notes and Inactives (1 Viewer)

Week 17 can be difficult enough, but this season it’s racked with playing time issues, injury questions and poor matchups for many of the more stable options. I’ll list all the injuries below. I’d be very wary of any of them in the lineup this week.

I’ll be posting inactives and other news as it comes out this morning. Please feel free to request more information for any of the below and we’ll see where we can read between the lines of the coachspeak.

Listed questionable this week with limited practice and should be considered game-time decisions:

Jonathan Babineaux, Curtis Lofton, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, Tyvon Branch, Louis Delmas, Robert Geathers, Shaun Ellis, Antrel Rolle, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Melvin Bullitt, Donte Whitner, Brian Cushing, Jonathan Vilma, Sedrick Ellis, Darren Sharper, Justin Tuck, Pat Williams, Antoine Winfield, Troy Polamalu, Aaron Curry, Josh Wilson, Albert Haynesworth, Rocky McIntosh, Shawne Merriman, Eric Weddle and a number of lesser players.

Out this week:

Nic Harris, Charles Tillman, Larry Foote, Clint Session, Bryan Scott, Keith Bulluck, Tony Brown, Nick Harper, LaRon Landry

Jene,

I know its way early but have you heard anything on Cinc D players like RIvers and Ndukwe? DO you think they will be pulled early as well?

I don't think the depth is there for most teams to be pulling role defensive players. I'd guess that, outside of Palmer/Benson and probably Geathers, the pullings will be limited unless the game gets significantly out of hand one way or another. Just an opinion, but I'd think that both Rivers and Ndukwe would play their usual roles as long as the game is in doubt.

Early buzz:

Justin Tuck will be active.

Antoine Winfield to play in short yardage only.

Ed Reed likely active, but will play only a handful of snaps.

Vince Wilfork, Ty Warren, Leigh Bodden inactive this week.

Curtis Lofton is active, as is Jonathan Babineaux. Kroy Biermann may start for the inactive Jamaal Anderson.

Pat Williams is active.

Darren Sharper and Sedrick Ellis inactive. Jonathan Vilma active, but the Saints inactive list is full of starters already. It's possible that his playing time will be severely limited since he didn't practice this week.

Other expected tidbits...

Dwight Freeney inactive per LaCanfora.

DeAndre stills starting at MLB.

Leonard Little still out.

Al Afalava, Charles Tillman and Danieal Manning out for Chicago. Craig Steltz and Kevin Payne at safety. Zach Bowman and Nathan Vasher at corner.

Louis Delmas is active and starting for Detroit.

Press flip card buzz:

Antoine Winfield listed as starter still. Suspect.

Jabari Greer starting at corner.

Jonathan Vilma starting at MLB. Interesting.

Vilma did not start at MLB. Flip card errors are becoming as common as unofficial tackle statistical errors. This one most of us saw coming, though.

Eric Weddle, Shawne Merriman, Tony Brown, Josh Wilson, Antrel Rolle, Albert Haynesworth, LaRon Landry and Chris Johnson are inactive.

Terrell Suggs and Rocky McIntosh are active.
