W7 Game Thread - Denver V Cleveland (1 Viewer)

Broncos looking out of sync on both sides of the ball.

Browns Punt just pinned them at the 3. Really need the O to come out of its shell this game and this drive.

With the Chargers losing, the Broncos can take over sole possession of 1st in the AFC West, but the O has to come to the game.

Alright we got a Steeler loss.

If our Browns can pull off the upset here we can get out of the cellar.

Or perhaps you can say share the cellar with Pittsburgh.

Huge game here - we can turn the season around.

Tatum Bell runs right side and gallops into the endzone untouched on the score. Nice blocking.

There's been a Brandon Marshall sighting!

The rookie fought for extra yards and was difficult to bring down. I'd love to see him firmly take the WR3 spot in Denver. He looked great in preseason.

Bell just ran in untouched on the right side. Traded Tatum away last night for Reggie Brown and Winslow, but not pulling for Winslow against my Broncos today.

Tater Bell with the 9-yd TD run. I'm still a little unsure about Denver's playcalling - 25 pass / 11 run ratio - but they sure strung a nice drive together there.

Droughns carries the ball, is stopped, and a Bronco reaches in and rips the ball out of Droughns' arms - it flies into the air and another Bronco catches it for the turnover.

Long bomb by Plummer deep left sideline. Incomplete but Browns CB Gary Baxter is down, clutches his left knee in pain and calls for help after the play. Baxter has suffered from a pectoral so this is new.

Droughns was known as a fumbler prior to coming to Cleveland, so its something I'm always concerned with when he carries the ball.

I'm not happy with the Browns decision to let the clock tick down. The clock is the friend of the team with the stud defense. Every second, no matter what point of the game it is, is crucial. You need your offense to get as many chances as possible. They should have called timeout on this 4th and 11.

For fantasy purposes, Charlie Frye missed a play due to a minor injury. Derek Anderson came in, so if there was any questions about the backup QB at the moment, there's your answer.

The crowd is so dead in this game that you can hear just about anything the players shout, and you can hear every hit echo.

Where's TatumBell (the f;guys member, not the player), I'm enjoying Bell's numbers and looking for to finding him here as well.

I'll cover for him in the interim

I have a feeling being 1-5 after getting blown out by the Broncos at home is really going to make the Browns fans begin to get extremely impatient with GM Phil Savage and HC Romeo Crennel. This team should be playoff contenders by year 3 of this regime. They need to show something between now and then.

:goodposting: what has Cleveland really done in drafts and free agency.... too bad.

Jake 18 for 35 1/1 vs Cleveland.... would love to see this go to 24-0 via a Tatum Td... and see Cutler in...

How is Jake not going off...

Phil Savage has taken two WRs on the first day in his first two drafts. Braylon Edwards and Travis Wilson. He has taken ZERO offensive linemen. I don't care if Edwards is the second coming - that is a recipe for failure when you have no OL. How is the Qb supposed to get those WRs the ball when we can't pass block? Just a waste.

If the Browns wind up with another high draft pick and take ANOTHER freaking offensive skill position player, Savage should be fired immediately.

Just had a CBS alert about Tatum being worked on the sideline with an undisclosed injury. Anyone watching the game know what happened?

Dude, cut Savage some slack here. It's not his fault that his team has lost like 50 centers this season. Talk about the draft all you want, but LeCharles Bentley wasn't the highest rated free-agent offensive lineman this offseason... he was the highest rated FREE AGENT, PERIOD, and Savage stepped up to the plate, offered him big money, and landed him within hours of free agency opening. You make it sound like Cleveland is the Arizona Cardinals or Detroit Lions here, as if they don't even understand that the O-line exists.Besides, Travis Wilson was a freaking third rounder. Name me one tackle or guard who went between the 78th and 110th pick (Cleveland's next selection) that would have been an improvement on the line. Rashaad Butler and Jahri Evans were the only two tackles or guards selected in that span.

Its not my job to make excuses for Phil Savage. Sure Bentley went down, but the line is really intact. This is the line Phil Savage "built". This line isn't even mediocre and you can't blame all of that on the loss of Bentley. The bottom line it is Phil Savage's job to figure it out and build a capable OL. Its been the weakest spot on the team for decades now. He should be using every available resource to fix that. It should have been top priority from the start.

Sucks that that TD has to count against Denver's defense. They've now given up two on the season, both coming while holding a 17-0 lead, one covering a grand total of 18 yards. :kicksrock:

Offensive lines don't get fixed overnight. One of the largest portions of OL success is CONTINUITY, which you can't build in a year no matter how much money or draft picks you throw at it. Add to that the fact that rookie linemen generally take years to develop (and bust just as frequently as everyone else), and quality linemen almost NEVER hit free agency, and there's not a whole lot else Savage could have done to shore this unit up. I mean, seriously, suggest some moves that Savage should have made that would have drastically improved this OLine.

I have no idea why Phil Savage blew up the DEFENSE and tried to put it back together. The defense before Savage got here as a whole was mediocre. He blew it up and put a lot of resources into it and it is .. mediocre. He's spun his wheels there. Meanwhile, the offense was a total crisis because of the horrible OL and he's not properly addressed that crisis and it is still a crisis.

That's a whole different story. Crennel wanted to run a 3-4, so Savage had to get some 3-4 personnel. I think that's more Crennel's fault than Savage's.

Hutch wasn't a UFA.
