Owner A is up 8 and has Vincent Jackson. Owner B has Charger D. Owner B up a ton early with the Charger D getting the pick for a TD, some sacks, fumble etc against Favre and Jackson being the only Charger to be doing nothing.

Fast forward to the 4th quarter. 17 point lead for Owner B vanishing quickly. Chargers can't stop anybody, can't recover an onside kick, Favre moving the ball, scoring TD's. 3 pass interference penalties going for 2 places the ball at the 1 inch line and Favre throws an incompletion. Well, those 2 points wouldn't have been a big deal, right? Wrong. Jackson catches a 70 yarder on 3rd and long and gets tackled by his shoestrings on the freakin 1 yard line. If he goes in, Owner A wins. So Owner B's still up still up 2. All the Chargers need to do is get a first down to run out the clock and Owner B wins. Of course they can't, so Jets get another 50 yard kickoff return (think Norv will have a word with the special teams in the morning?)and they're already in range for a TD. Not only that, 18 more yards against will cost Owner B another 2 points on the D which would make it a tie game. Favre out, Kelly C in. Of course 1st two passes in the prevent defense nets 20 yards, so now game is tied and the Jets have the ball at the 10. They score - Owner A wins.

Cromartie gets a pick in the end zone and Owner B wins by 2. What a rollercoaster ride this fantasy game can be.

Anybody else have their game decided on that last pick?

It wasn't my game but that of our Commish. I plan on busting his balls mercilessly all day tomorrow. He lost by one point with that INT.

It happened in the Monday nighter last year between the Bengals and the Pats. I got TJ Housh left, he has Carson Palmer. Palmer threw 2 picks that game and only 1 TD and it was to TJ Housh. With about 3 minutes left in the game i was down by like 2 points. First play of the Bengals drive Palmer throws a 20 yard completion to Housh, now im down by 1. Next play Carson throws a INT and the Pats run out the clock. I ended up winning by 1 point.

Yep, I just lost to the the wife because of Stuckey last catch for 9 yards. :X :bag: :bag: :goodposting:  :porked: :porked:

I needed 18 yards against SD defense to go up by less than a point..got it when Clemens throws 2 short passes to the 8 yard line..then the last second pick in the end zone and I lose by less than a point.

I remember last year playing the Romo owner and having Witten, and with a lead going into the Monday night game against ... err, I don't remember who it was. I recall that I was winning by 2-3 points late into the 4th quarter, and Dallas was driving down the field. Romo then throws a TD pass to Crayton with something like 20 seconds left in the game - that play lost it for me. I was so torqued - if he had thrown it to Witten, I win ... that play also decided another game (the Crayton owner won it on that play also)

2-3 years ago, MNF, I had Alexander, he had Josh Brown. I'm down 20+ points going in. Alexander scores 2 or 3 tds to tie me up (HE has the tiebreaker) and then doesn't return to the game after halftime due to injury. I went from ecstatic to a deep depression. But then....Brown, pulls a FG attempt, -1, I'm ahead. I have to sit through the whole 2nd half praying that SEA doesn't score again in any way to give Brown a point or 3. They don't. We still talk about that one.

Bah, in Nineteen Turrdy Ought the Cleveland Rams were up against the Chicago Cardinals when Corby Davis slid head first on a cow pattie (they used to play on horse tracks back then) and slid for what seemed to be five seconds. He slipped and fell for an additional two yards as time expired. My opponent, Mr. Gregory Jones, defeated me by .2 points. Bless his soul, luckiest SOB in all of fantasy.

Was that a real snowy game agaist STL I think?

Going into Monday Night I was up by 26 over a team with SD 'D' and up 20 over another team with Tomlinson. Tomlinson was projected for 10 and I didn't think he'd come close to 20. The San Diego 'D' had 22 at HT so I figured that guy had it won. In fact I congratulated him. As it turned out, he needed the pick at the end just to tie me and Tomlinson finished with 20 exactly for a 3 way tie.

A few years back I lost a game thanks to a McNabb Monday night performance. Going into the MNF game, I needed something like 30 points. He got me 31 points with 2 minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The other team was down big and traying to get one last score in. The Eagles picked off the ball with 1:45 left in the fourth. McNabb comes in and takes 3 straight kneel downs, dropping his total points back down to 30. I lost the tiebreaker and missed out on the playoffs that season.

Are/were you in rotisserie league?

Here's a good husband/wife one...Husband trailing by 9.8 late on Monday night, only a kicker left. Wife says c'mon honey turn off the light already.Husband says no (of course).Kicker boots a 50 yarder (5 points) on the last play of regulation to send the game into OT.Kicker boots another 50 yarder in OT.Husband wins by 0.2.

No, this is head-to-head but the overall points winner each week gets a little cash :lmao: This is my first year so not sure how they handle ties.

Try losing last year's chamionship due to Westbrook's kneel down at the one. :wall:

Try losing a game due to DeShaun Jackson's brilliant play this year.

Nothing can top this:

Back in '95 (I think), a guy I knew was up by a point going into the Monday Night game. His opponent was finished. He had Michael Jackson, WR for Cleveland. Game over, right? Wrong. Jackson got him no yardage points, but on a reverse, threw a pass that was picked off, which was a -2 in his game, and he lost by a point. I still laugh just thinking about how much that had to suck.

Week 1 of this year, I was dead until Cutler took the knee 3 times to close out the Denver/Oakland Monday night game. Dropped him from 12 yards rushing to 9 yards and cost his owner the point he needed to beat me.

I can: Guy was up by 1 going in to MNF with opponent out of players, he had Eddie George left. Eddie fumbled on first carry, -2, and left the game with an injury. Lost by 1.

Ummm.....I don't remember snow but maybe. I do remember running laps in my house screaming like a banshee as the clock wound down and Brown wasn't going to kick again.

Same thing here, QB kneel downs to lose by a decimal point are BRUTAL.

Why would you play your championship in week 15? I know lots of people don't like to play it in week 17, but finishing 2 weeks before the season is over?

I still feel the pain of the Monday night game when Antonio Freeman caught the unbelievable pass in OT. That TD catch cost me the game. Not to mention the Vikings had the easy FG that would have ended it in regulation and botched the snap.

Also, being a Viking fan on top of that really hurt.

Copy and Pasted incorrectly

We had an owner lose a game this week because of Philip River's consecutive kneel downs at the end of the game. It was that close.

I had one of these games last night.

My opponent is leading by 17 points going into MNF, I have Cotchery and he has Stuckey.

Cotch gets many receptions and we get points for every 3 rec. and I'm up by 75 points going into 4th Quarter.

Favre begins looking to Stuckey, Stuckey catches the short TD pass and the fantasy score gets tighter. On the last meaningless drive with 1 minute to play Stuckey catches back to back short passes before Favre throws incomplete on 4th down in the end zone.

Final score:

ME 963.5

HIM 963.0

I win by 1/2 a point....1/2 point where our games average 800-1000 points......yowza! :lmao:
