Wacky 2010 (1 Viewer)

I thought about starting this thread back in week 5, but refrained.

This has been the wackiest fantasy football season that I have ever been apart of, and I have been playing since 1995.

I started the season 0-5, then preceded to run off 8 consecutive wins, and won my division, got the #2 seed and a 1st round bye.

A team in my league finishes 6-7, has the most points scored for, and most points scored against in the league.

For the first time in the history of our league, a team goes 0-12-1, not getting a single win.

The defending champion does not make the playoffs.

A team that scores 500 points LESS then the high scorer on the year makes the playoff, with a better record then the high scorer.

What wacky stuff happened in your league this year?

In my main league that has been around for 12 years - 4 player keeper league, I had what in early September looked like an embarrassment of riches going into the season..

Kept Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, Brady and Randy Moss (kept for 12 straight years after drafting him as a rookie..).

Going into the draft I also had Benson, Miles Austin and Moreno on my roster, all of which I traded for draft picks in rounds 2-4. I ended up with 8 picks in the first 5 rounds, and was loving life. Roddy White wasn't kept, and slipped to me at the 7 hole. Picked up Bradshaw, Finley, Wallace, Maclin, Eli as backup QB..

Team looked dominant on paper...

...went 5-8, 4th in points, but by far the highest points against. Moss needs no explanation, Johnson hasn't done anything, Rice underperformed (non-PPR), Finley got hurt, etc..

At least I'll be picking 3rd next year..

-I saw defending champs not even make the playoffs (one was a two-time champ).

-I had one team start 2-5. I tried to blow it up and rebuild (dynasty team, had been winning division for several years). No one would take Jacob Tamme or Knowshon Moreno and I'm now 8-5, won the division last night, and in the playoffs again.

-I had one team get swept by my division (0-6), yet I still ended up winning the division and a 1st rounf bye.

-I saw A LOT of teams this year with very high (league leading) average points for, yet not win their division, etc.

-I saw one team claim the #1 seed despite being outscored on the year by nearly 100 points.

It has indeed been one of the wackiest seasons ever. Even in the NFL, I think ALL 8 divisions are still up for grabs and several of the winners last year are near the bottom this year. Wacky!

I started 6-0 and had a huge 2 full game lead and the total-points tie-breaker over the rest of the league.

I've gone 1-6 in my last 7 games, am now mid-pack in total points, and just dropped to 5th, out of the play-offs and playing the top team in a must-win week 14.

Thank you Pierre Thomas and Frank Gore. Thank you Peyton Manning. Thank you Miles Austin (via Romo), Boldin, Steve Smith (NYG) and Santana Moss. Thank you also Dustin Keller. I appreciate your ability to show up for the first half.

Went 10-0 to start season. So far 11-2, with most points, 1st place seed locked, why is this wacky? Well it's my first year playing fantasy and had never watched so much football before. :boxing: :( :goodposting:

I set a league record for blowing a 68 point lead heading into a Monday night. (Vick - 47 pts, McCoy - 28 pts)

I started the season 1-5 but got Hillis...wound up #1 seed and top points..

Not 2010 but 2009 - we had 2 teams going for the final playoff spot have identical records, split h2h, AND tied for total points. I just wanted to share.

The team that had the 3rd highest total points missed the playoffs...by a lot.

The team that had the 3rd lowest points, not only made the playoffs, but is the #3 seed behind the two division winners.

No, I am not either one. Being an FBG, I was one of the division winners (the other division winner also frequents these boards - coincidence? I think not.)

A particular owner was talking smack about great his team was, then he lost the next five games which put him out of the playoffs. In one of these losing games kneel downs by his QB at the end of a game, which resulted in -1 rushing yard per kneel down, caused him to lose by 0.1 points. This same owner won his last game of the year big and knocked himself out of the number one pick next year. Moral of the story here kids is don't run your mouth or the fantasy gods will make you suffer ...

I've got a team in my league (a perennially strong team) which had a 6-2 record a few weeks ago.....well he just lost his 5th straight game and is now 6-7, could lose his final game and still make the playoffs. In addition, if this happens, it will mark the first time in our 9-year history that a 6-8 team will make the playoffs. Talk about backing into the playoffs!! WACKY.

I once gave up a 73 point lead to Brady and Moss in the 1st half of a night game. At least I was able to go to bed early

:lmao: It been a very trying year.

One owner had two ties in a 4 game span.

It's a not-very-serious work league though and decimal places are not used so I suppose that makes it less impressive. Still, kinda weird.

A good friend of mine, who rarely makes the playoffs was on the verge of doing so. All he needed was a win. But as usual, bad luck kicks him in the gut. He loses by 3.73 in a PPR league. Guess who's in his starting lineup.........

Dwayne Bowe. :)

A friends team in our league who I originally thought had a decent draft went 1-12. Second year in a row he's finished last of a 12 team league with a decent roster on paper:

QB: Tom Brady, Michael Vick

RB: Ray Rice, Cedric Benson, Matt Forte, Darren McFadden, Darren Sproles

WR: Steve Smith CAR, Dez Bryant, Hines Ward, Kenny Britt, Steve Breaston, Nate Burelson

TE: Zach Miller, Heath Miller

K: Matt Pratter

DE: Atlanta

His team looked solid after the draft and then looked even better when McFadden, Forte, Vick emerged as #1's and #2's. 1 and 12!? Unlucky

We had two H2H ties in games in a 10 team league with a scoring system where the average score per team per game is about 140.

As of right now I have a team that is both tied for last place (most points against by far) and one game out of the last playoff spot!

A guy in my league went into the Monday night game two weeks ago tied. He has Rivers, the other guy had a kicker, Kaeding. Kaeding scored 18 points while Rivers scored 8. Knocked the guy out of the playoffs after he was all but assured a spot.

:lmao: this has got to be the best one, I am drafting a kicker before a QB next year

i was down 10 PTs going into last night game, I had welker and Edwards and the other guy had Sanchez

non PPR, all TDs 6pts,

if he wins he is the #1 seed, get his $100 fee back, if he loses he is the 5th seed

If I win I make the playoffs as the 6th seed, lose and I am out of the playoffs

I won by 1.45 points.
