Very looking forward to seeing what he'll do this season in real game action. Latest reports are that he's out for week 3, right? Are folks expecting him back week 4?

Guy is an absolute beast. I'm all :pickle: and

Nice reference in Waiting for Godot....you know what happens at the end though, right?

But I'm still waiting and hoping he decides to show up and when he does, I think he will end up a fringe starter depending on league size and roster requirments.

Read a blurb in the Sporting News this year that mentioned how Schilens showed at the end of last year that he will be an elite WR in the NFL.

It sure sounds possible based on his camp and preseason. The timing of the injury is pretty crummy.

does anyone have a link to the story about him catching balls out of the "QB gun" from 5 feet away in the rain or something like that, maybe i've exaggerated the story in my head a bit, but something made me write his name on a sticky and put it on my desk sometime in the middle of the offseason, either way i drafted him in dynasty and redraft and eagerly await his return

Here you go Oat

RotoWire) Schilens (foot) did not practice on Wednesday but head coach Tom Cable hopes he'll be able to get some work in by the end of this week, the Oakland Tribune reports.Analysis: Cable still did not think Schilens would be able to play this weekend; but if Schilens is able to practice a bit before Sunday, it would not come as a big surprise if he finds his way onto the 45-man roster come game-time.

That was me. It was in one of the sleeper threads. Just an account of him working at the Raiders HQ in the offseason, catching balls soaked in water. A Jerry Rice technique I think.

He has one HUGE problem that might hold him back this year. Jamarcus Russell isn't very good.
As someone with Chaz rostered in the majority of my leagues, I'm really hoping he can provide the type of target that makes Jamarcus Russell an adequate passer.

Dropped him yesterday for Eddie Royal (ended up on the wire). I wasn't liking the whole Russell scenario and found that Eddie has a better chance of being "startable" over Chaz (at least for this year)

I think he's an excellent dynasty target. I like him more than any of the 09' class except for Harvin. Schilens reminds me so much of Vincent Jackson as a prospect. He's definitely a stash worthy player in redrafts, but his true value is in dynasty.

That and the fact that they are built/designed to run the ball. They don't want Russell throwing the ball a lot.
Something about "They don't want Russell throwing the ball a lot" that is noteworthy. Here is a guy who was drafted #1 overall in 2007. When will they want him throwing a lot?

 When he doesn't suck? When their running game is worse than he is?

When he develops the eye-hand coordination which enables him to get it within 5 feet of the receiver.
