I grabbed AZ for that reason, started them twice already in the last month or so for 'good' matchups, both times substandard results. Hate to be a 'hater', but might have to look elsewhere.

I disagree. Waiting a little later has always worked well for me. Have found that grabbing a defense that is playing great around week 11/12 with good playoff schedule and minimal injuries...usually trumps a defense picked up for the playoffs around weeks 7/8.For instance, as in my original post, I think now i would rather have a washington/texan combo...rather than the cardinals. too much garbage time to defend. That defense is on the field a ton. Good option for leagues where you aren't penalized for yards against.
