Waiver Wire & FAAB Discussion heading into the Week 4 games (1 Viewer)

Feelinlg lucky that after Engram was ruled out (I am able to start Gesicki), I moved him to my IR, and was able to pick up Dalton before the CAR-LVR game started. I may start him over A Richardson next week.

Not sure if he's got anything left either, but wouldn't shock me to see Dalvin Cook get a shot with the reeling Cowboys.

doubt Bucky is on many wires at this point...
I picked him up week 2 and dropped him for Braelon Allen. Which he was scooped up and then dropped for Christian Watson by another manager. So he is out there on some shorter bench leagues.

I’d like to get him (again), but unsure how to fit him on my squad.

Really kicking myself for not grabbing Dalton in superflex yesterday before the games started.

Now I likely have to pony up a pretty FAAB penny to get him.

Roschon Johnson
While I truly feel sorry for anyone that is facing the prospect of actually starting him now, he looked noticeably better than the other backs on CHI. Based on the scheme the Bears are playing, he's got the skillset to be their primary two down back (with Swift/Herbert picking up the slack on 3rd and rotating with Roschon when he needs a breather). I get the vibe they don't trust him as a receiver.

If you've got the bench slot and the patience, he might actually have some value down the line when it means more to win a game than how much someone is getting paid. They greased the meathead fans here in Illinois up pretty good that the Bears were a playoff team at a minimum, so the natives are starting to get restless already.

He's the only back in CHI I'd trust with a goal-line carry, so he "might" have some short term TD-dependent value. A 'what the heck flex' (hat tip to Cecil and Bloom) if you will.

Oh man, I need some help picking between some truly bad QB streamer options this week.

Background: 14-team league with premium QB scoring (6pt TDs, 0.25 pts per completion), which has the effect of elevating pocket passers at the expense of running QBs

Drafted Tua (already dropped) and Herbert (potentially out this week). Literally, these are the only options left on the WW:
  • Richardson (was just dropped, but remember, running QBs, especially those who can't pass, aren't worth much in this league; also, he's facing the Steelers)
  • Nix
  • Levis
  • Brissett
  • Whichever stiff the Dolphins are rolling out this week
Kind of leaning Levis on the hope that Miami is phoning it in

Lowered roster players:

Whittington - snap share low but he’s producing

E. Wilson was solid and could be flex until Lloyd is back. Not sure what’s up with Jacobs but he looks worn down a bit. That said, against vikings are a no go

Nailor- should have value whenever Addison and or hock are out

Iosivas- looks like a 3 WR staple

Calvin Austin- against colts who can’t stop anyone

Brenton strange- prolly another week to start

Jalen Tolbert - watch list but TNF so be careful

Atwell- at Chicago though so be careful

Badie seems like fools gold. Same with Conklin.

Michael Wilson if McBride is out. Dortch too

Lots of qbs produced so not sure if dalton stands out this week

Tough to consider Miami qb or Brissett as they may not finish the game. I would probably still go with AR at home and hope. Can’t take Nox at the Jets and Levi’s is a TO machine.

If you’re hurting at RB you could take a chance on Cordarrelle Patterson. Najee Harris was wearing a sling yesterday and Jaylen Warren was pulled last week and is to undergo an MRI on his knee.

Patterson looked good against the Chargers and the Steelers play the Colts this week.

Colts only gave up 63 yards rushing to the Bears for a 2.3 avg. Sounds like they may have fixed that. To be honest, I never thought that would be a weakness going into 2024. However, they are without Buckner, Brents, and now possibly Kwitty Paye.

Agree on Badie about being fool's gold, but Conklin may not be a bad streaming option at the brutal TE position. He'll have a bunch of clunkers surrounded by a few decent games, but what TE isn't doing that, and Rodgers likes his TEs as we've seen over the years.

"In addition, Tomlin noted that running back Jaylen Warren got benched by Tomlin because of an ongoing injury issue. Warren was replaced by veteran Cordarrelle Patterson who played well down the stretch."

I take that as Tomlin has had enough of Warren's injury that's been lingering since camp. I wouldn't be surprised if he told him he isn't allowed to practice til he's 💯 either.

Patterson is there for this reason. I don't think he holds onto the job just a sub but this was quite predictable. He'll take over KR duties at some point too.
He's a great sub to have around. Coaches always love him and I'm going to ride this in FF til the other backs get healthy. 2? 3? weeks? I don't care. I can easily drop him too. Coaches don't pull a high effort big back near the GL so he's probably going to be OK for FF even if he doesn't have great rushing stats.

I'd consider Patterson once Najee is ruled out but Najee is tough as nails so I'm guessing he will give it a go.

No, they were attacking the ball carriers better. Let's see if that continues against the Steelers.

Cordarrelle Patterson in deeper leagues.

Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren have injuries and Cordarrelle posted 4-33 rushing and 5 targets with 3 catches for 15 yards receiving.

If Braelon Allen is out there what % would people put down?
In redraft or dynasty, a hell of a lot if you're a Hall owner. In redraft and not a Hall owner, a very modest amount. In dynasty and not a Hall owner, a hefty amount.
Redraft not a Hall owner.
At least 10%...but probably more now and then slip to the Hall owner. but if the Hall owner is your main competition you better weaken their team if you give him a guaranteed handcuff

Good point to block the Hall owner if he's in the competition mix.

What % would people bid on Diontae Johnson, who looked a LOT better with a capable QB + Thielen missing at least 4 games?
If he's available in redraft and you need a WR, 40%. He's a WR1 on an average offense. So he will get 10+ targets a week now. Think of Nabers. How much would you bid on him if he was available? DJ not the same talent but similar situation.

Trying to gauge the potential spend on Dalton and Bo Nix in SuperFlex.

My team is fairly decent other than the QB spot… and still trying to throw darts at something that will work.

I own Diontae Johnson and am a TCU fan… so Dalton has a little special magic in him it could be fun.

Unlike the Bears, Pitt’s OL won’t get pushed around either.

Dalton may cost a little more, but has more to work with.

In both my leagues I would rank the top-3 available RBs as,

Allen (NY)
Wilson (GB)
Gibson (NE)

I figure we all know about Allen who can be a league winner if anything happened to Hall, and he already has some flex appeal.

Wilson has shown some pop in his game and looked better than Jacobs Sunday. I think he will surprise many if anything were to happen to Jacobs. Has flex appeal as well.

Gibson looks good so far, and with Stevenson having ball security issues, maybe Gibson gets some more snaps going forward.

***Forgot to add that Bucky is not available, or he would be my top pick for someone about to take over most of the running duties in TB.

Again, the best waiver player available is probably still there:

Audric Estime Broncos Rookie RB
Yes, he was drafted in my league and dropped when he went on IR. But is he that much better than what they have?
He may be, but I don't have enough confidence that Estime will garner enough touches to be that fantasy viable. Lot of bodies in that backfield, which could change, but Payton has never seemed to be a one-back guy.

The door is wide open with the guys they have now,

Drafted in the 3rd round by Peyton - like Kamara was when nobody saw him coming either. Biggest upside of any one on waivers.

FWIW, the guy on Berry's showed predicted in preseason Estime would be the top back in Denver.
